This is nice Sunday Morning coffee reading: Delaware’s mendicant Republican party bookended with a story about Delaware’s mendicant Republican ex-speaker.

The DelawareOnline article is full of gems. There is the Sigler/Lavelle plan to negotiate out of having primaries. Excuse me while I roll on the ground laughing. And my personal favorite, the bitterness of Michelle Rollins:

“I would not think they would want to, one more time, win the primary with their candidate and then get slaughtered in the general election,” Rollins said of downstate conservatives. “They are certainly smart enough to understand that the abortion issue cannot dictate who their candidate is.”

    Are they ?

Ahh that’s what that place is! And here I thought it was the alapocas wall:)

The wall surrounding A.I.duPont’s estate to keep out the riff-raff. It’s topped with broken glass which, as a kid, I always found so fascinating.

While I’m spamming this thread, I’ll add that this is the best, most revealing, most illuminating thingI’ve ever read about President Obama,

Skip is half right, No glass but its an extension of the same wall protecting the same property. Guess he felt that perimeter was safer:) One of my high school fr4inds lived in the caretakers house by the gate on 141.
