  1. Andy says:

    The Strand in New Castle

  2. A different Andy says:

That’s William Penn, performing the “livery of seisin” upon first setting foot in the New World in New Castle on the Delaware, before heading upriver to his namesake territory. The statue stands between 2nd and Market Streets, in the space where the New Castle market was held.

  3. Auntie Dem says:

William Penn had a cool hat.

  4. walt says:

That’s not a Delaware photo. It’s the statue at Faber College. If you zoom in on the plaque beneath the statue of Mr. Faber you will see the logo: “Knowledge is good.”

  5. Delaware Dem says:

Um… what? It’s quite clearing New Castle Commons.

  6. liberalgeek says:

Faber College was the fictional college in Animal House.

  7. Geezer says:

And what was the nickname of the athletic teams at Faber College? Hint: It’s related to “Faber.”

  8. liberalgeek says:

I was just doing some searching on Faber, so I won’t answer.
