Breaking – John Sigler Gives DE GOP Imprimatur to Sussex County Racist Gathering

Filed in National by on September 26, 2011

Details are still emerging, but in the face of strident objections by Delaware’s remaining sane Republicans, state GOP Chairman John Sigler attended a “Take Back Our State event” hosted by the racist WGMD radio personality Bill Colley. As of now we are not sure if this “Take Back Our State event” was a full blown KKK meeting, or some subsidiary group affiliated with more mainstream Republican racists.

If it turns out to be true that Sigler shared a stage with Sussex County’s preeminent hate mongers and race baiters, the GOP Chair should face some difficult questions from the press and from Delaware’s Democratic State Party Chair.

It would seem to be incumbent on John Daniello to discern the DE GOP’s official stance on Bill Colley’s shockingly racists statements. Particularly his recent statements about the President of the United States’ mother having sex with African “savages” in order to civilize them. More as this develops.

    “Delaware’s remaining sane Republicans…”

Very optimistic of you to use the plural of “Republican”.

  2. Don says:

    >Very optimistic of you to use the plural of “Republican”.

Plural or singular, it was the use of “republican” and “sane” together in a sentence that startled me. (Although from their voting records, some of our Democrats might qualify.)

  3. Sigler exposed what a tool he is when he submitted the Sept. Delaware Voice column calling for a two year moratorium on any new DelDOT (and other agency) regulations as his primary recommendation for securing Delaware jobs.

It turns out that the “any new DelDOT regulations” moratorium is in direct support of the Committee of 100 development lobby most fervently articulated by John Burris employee Roger Roy – lobbyist for Pam Scott’s former client Keith Stoltz. Roy is front and center in the current fight against DelDOT’s new regulations clarifying the scope for traffic impact analysis and the amount of road and bridge compensation a mega developer like Keith Stoltz will have to pay to create his tax-free shopping commercial playground in and around Greenville.

Without developers’ compensating the state for the roads and bridges, the debt state just gets higher (Stoltz can avoid paying for the infrastructure under the Redevelopment law put together by Coons and Clark).

This must be part of the Delaware GOP’s new minority outreach program. I can imagine the advertisement, it would start with John Sigler in full camo holding several automatic and semi automatic weapons while standing in front of a pick up truck with a long chain attached to the back of it.

Sigler: If you’re African American and are not physically repulsed by the fact that the Delaware GOP believes President Obama’s mother civilized African “savages” in the sack, then the Republican Party is for you! If you change your registration today, we’ll include a instructional manual on how to recruit Hispanics to the party by telling them they should be deported and their children should die on the street in front of the emergency rooms.

  5. Geezer says:

    But…but…but…Herman Cain!

  6. The Real Savages- Sigler and Lavelle says:

No no no, this is better- an ad featuring Sigler in white robes standing in front of a burning cross saying “I’m not a Klansman, I’m YOU!”

But this is bigger then Sigler- every person on the GOP state committee shares in the filth of this unless they publically repudiate it. Calling Greg Lavelle? Paging Mr. Lavelle, state party vice chair? Do you find this funny or disgusting? John Rollins? Kim Stevenson? Pat Callahan? Michael McDermott? Andrew Cherry? Bill Sahm? Speak up folks- speak up. Dave Jones – would really like to get your opinion on Sigler sharing a stage with a guy who jokes around of what happened to Matthew Sheppard.

This story belongs on the front page of the News Journal and in national media. If only the News Journal had decent investigative reporters- a google search or two could turn up some other great quotes by the Fat Man.

Sigler knew *exactly* who he was stepping on stage with, a guy that jokes about lynching “Moors” and so did the rest of the corwards in the leadership. So the real savages are Sigler, Lavelle, and the silent GOP leadership for providing cover for hatred and bigotry. Cowards all.

  7. Geezer says:

You’re going to wait a long, long time to hear from John Rollins about anything. An eternity, in fact.

  8. Aoine says:

Wonder how David Anderson felt about that statement??

Oh never mind – his mother is African-American, so does that then mean no one in his family had the benefit of ever being civilized??

On a lighter note….funny how he did outreach to the :hispanic: community BEFORE he won the GOP seat….

As far as I know, no one has reached back, we can smell a racist coming down the pike….so much for their “Chistianity”

makes me glad I’m a heathen

  9. anon says:

Just because the biggest conservative blog and the biggest liberal blog in the state had numerous comments about Colley’s tweets about “stringing up moors”, “burning hairdressers” and Obama’s mother sleeping with African “savages” to civilize them doesn’t mean that the GOP leadership knew about his racism.

Now, about that bridge I have for sale, it connects Delaware to New Jersey and it’s really a great deal.

  10. anon says:

Geezer isn’t John Rollins 3 the new NCC GOP Chairman?

  11. Aoine says:

burning hairdressers and lynching Moors – nice Colley!!

  12. Geezer says:

“isn’t John Rollins 3 the new NCC GOP Chairman?”

I have no idea. If that’s who you were talking about, OK then. But Michelle is a much bigger GOP playa than he is.

By the way, the notion of TNJ wasting the time of an investigative reporter on a small-potatoes talk-show host in Bumfuck, Sussex County, is laughable. Let’s see — a conservative on talk radio says racist and homophobic things? Really? Knock me over with a feather.

  13. anon says:

Sussex County still has Klansmen meetings. I know someone who actually tracked them to a big ass farm and watched who went in. Some of the biggest, wealthiest families in Sussex. Klansman by night, your politicans and the Sussex GOP by day.

Ever wonder why the Sussex VOP prison is considered Delaware’s gulag? What goes on in there is investigated by no one. Danberg has even convinced state legislators that “there are no women in that mail prison”, even though anyone sitting in a car in the parking lot can see them going in and out. Wonder why inmates at Gander Hill are told, “if you think its bad here, we can always send you to Sussex”.

  14. I want to see some real proof of this. Post the audio or apologize for your lies.

  15. cassandra_m says:

Oh look who is here talking about lies.

    You have your nerve.

    🙄

  16. puck says:

    LOL popcorn.

  17. pandora says:

    Popping it as I type!

  18. anon says:

Evan Q you can read Colley’s racist rant here: http://www.wgmd.com/?p=35710 and according to the Bull Roast website, Colley was the event’s MC and Sigler was their big speaker.

    No “audio” is necessary, Einstein.

You can’t stand on a stage with a huge piece of racist crap like Colley and expect to walk away smelling like a rose. Or as grandma used to say “when you lay down with dogs you get up with fleas.”

  19. liberalgeek says:

Evan is probably hoping one of us will read it to him.

  20. Joe Cass says:

Evan, you constitutional scholar you, how are those lifts working out? Remember, you can’t keep playing child roles by remaining stumpy.

  21. RJ says:

I read the text on the WGMD link and don’t see how you construed the comments as racist. I really don’t like what’s happening in this country, with the purposeful attempt to create race and class wars. The racist card is thrown around way too casually; it is a horrible accusation, no matter what your particular political affiliation is. It helps no one and discredits the initiator, to group an entire political party as one thing or another. And in case you’re wondering, I am not a member of the GOP.

  22. pandora says:

So, RJ, were you okay with this?

He’s a lot like the liberal women of another generation who believed crawling into bed with exotic peoples was mission work. It wasn’t necessarily because you believed in equality; it was because it was the liberal version of White Man’s Burden. Heck, Dr. Stanley Ann Dunham traveled the globe linking up with “savages” and civilizing them in the sack! Her efforts even created a President of the United States.

  23. RJ says:

I didn’t see the last two paragraphs when I looked at the site earlier (didn’t scroll down far enough) No, I’m not okay with it. I find it as equally inflammatory as the original post.

  24. jason330 says:

Has anyone yet confirmed that Sigler knowingly shared a stage with Colley? Have the Delaware Democrats commented yet?

  25. jason330 says:

I just called Urquhart to see if the SC GOP agreed with Colley that The President of the United States’ mother had sex with African “savages” to civilize them. I left a message.

I called John Siglar at DE GOP HQ to ask the same question. He wasn’t there, but the number is (302) 668-1954 if you are a reporter for the News Journal, or citizen, trying to get to the bottom of this.

Perhaps Siglar didn’t know that he was sharing the stage with a rabid racist? That is still possible I suppose.

  26. How about you confirm that Sigler knew that this was out there.

    I didn’t…and I don’t condone it.

With that said, I don’t think you can call Sigler or any others who were there racists simply for sharing a stage him. Unless you’re going to call Obama a terrorists for his ties to Bill Ayers…or a Muslim for his friendship with Rashid Khalidi.

  27. jason330 says:

I have calls in. Republicans urged Siglar not to attend this racist gathering. Why, instead of condemning Colley’s statement, did Siglar attend the gathering? I think it is fair conclude that Siglar tolerates racism based on the known facts so far.

The question is, does Siglar’s endorsement of these racist gatherings mean that the DE GOP is now an openly racists organization? Did he attend as the head of the DE GOP, or was he expressing his personal e=sentiments? That’s what I am trying to get to the bottom of.

  28. Joe Cass says:

“Unless you’re going to call Evan a complete idiot for his ties to Christine O”Donnell”
    fixed it for ya!

  29. I wouldn’t call Colley a “rabid racist”…I’d call these unfortunate sarcastic statements capitalized on by a rabid leftist who sought to take them as far out of context as he possibly could.

That said, I wouldn’t say it.

  30. Hur hur, Joe Cass…funny man…anywho…I know that DL is just about destroying PEOPLE…and the politics of personal destruction so I will take my common sense and go home…

  31. jason330 says:

I don’t care about what Evan Q would or would not say. Would Siglar say it? Would he stand on the stage with someone saying it? Would he stand on that stage in solidarity at a racist gathering having been urged to not attend the racist gathering? Perhaps you would not say it because you may know that Colley’s rhetoric has a lot in common with KKK rhetoric regarding Obama. How can you be sure that Colley is “just kidding?” If the read the entire unhinged racist screed, it is pretty clear that he hates black people. Is Siglar so poorly served by his associates that he went to this racist gathering unaware that it was a racist gathering? I guess it is possible.

  32. Aoine says:

Ok Evan – why dont you go back in time to the SCCOR days – I still have the screenshots and the chat room logs and the audio from the things that were said there.

I also have the screenshots of bill colleys posts on reisitnet.com and the people he friended and the things they said – one of them I believe got a visit from a very annoyed Federal agency. and guess what – he had vanished, and his vitrolic with him.

basically, I have 4-5 years worth of Colley intel. written, posted and verbalized – there is no escaping something once it is put on the net. and I can, will and do claim, unequivocally, that he is a racist, not by association, but by his own words and deeds.

And its not just Colley, but also his associates – some worse than others

And I have it both backed up and archived. Some day, Some day…it will be used in proceedings against him and his ilk. And I cannot wait!

Sadly, someone will have been badly hurt or killed due to his irresponsible rhetoric and vile attitude. He thinks this is all some ratings game, some way to propel his sad little life onto a national stage….what it will do is cost some poor person who is not white and/or a citizen their life.

And then, it will be hell to pay. He better learn to dance with the devil now, because he will be doing it for a while.

  33. Miscreant says:

“Sussex County still has Klansmen meetings. I know someone who actually tracked them to a big ass farm and watched who went in. Some of the biggest, wealthiest families in Sussex. Klansman by night, your politicans and the Sussex GOP by day.”

Let me preface this by saying I’ve had no reason to seek out the KKK or any other racist organization. But having been born, and lived here in the *red* zone of Sussex most of my life, have hung with the lowest, and highest characters on the food chain, I’ve never encountered any such group (aside from most of the 9/12 patriot douchebags, who are racists, but too cowardly to admit it). Until you provide substantive proof (beyond rumor), I call bullshit. Frankly, after 30 years of working in all three counties, I’ve encountered more bigots in New Castle and Kent, than in Sussex.

    ——————————————-

“I read the text on the WGMD link and don’t see how you construed the comments as racist. ”

“I didn’t see the last two paragraphs when I looked at the site earlier (didn’t scroll down far enough) No, I’m not okay with it. I find it as equally inflammatory as the original post.”

I’m glad you got that reading comprehension thing squared away, RJ. If you need further proof Colley is a flaming bigot, just listen to his show for a few minutes, if you can stomach it.

  34. Aoine says:

Evan – I have years of Colley written posts, statement, and audio

    screenshots etc….

and I am just waiting,, and I am VERY patient

you never know who is in a chat room with you – do you really? – and chat room posts along with other things on the net are forever, just like screen shots

He was done 4 years ago and does not know it.

He is an avowed racist and there is no way around it – no way he can sidestep what is out there. funny thing tho, he was looking for notariety – and now has found it

But like a spoiled child he does not realize that its POSITIVE fame people are looking for- he is so emotionally damanged that negative fame was OK and now it will cost him

patience, patience, patience.. The archive is vast and there is no denying it.

Sadly, someone will be hurt or killed due to his irresponsible rhetoric and I also predict that within 24-96 hours he will be blogging again and this time using the left as a punching bag and blaming them for his victimization. and claiming he is not a racist – that is always the final resort for racists!

He wrote, said, and posted it – He now owns it.

Seigler has bougth the farm with him. I hope they are happy together.

  35. anon says:

Colley posted his racist rant on WGMD’s website and DL linked to it before the Bull Roast.

    This Tweet of Colley’s:

9-12 Patriots’ meeting tonight. Per usual we’ll torch a hairdresser & string up a couple of Moors.
    4 hours ago · reply · retweet · favorite

was on his Twitter feed as well as on DelawareLiberal on September, 1, it was on DelawarePolitics.net on September 19.

On September 1, DelawarePolitics.net put up an announcement for the Bull Roast and the comment section had to be closed after it was exposed that the PAC hosting it was the same PAC that tried to unseat Senator Joe Booth, and Don Ayotte had deleted the link to the Department of Elections page that showed the PAC supported Bodenweiser. Even Fay Voshell can be witnessed backing out of her support of the event in the comment section.

You can go back a year and find Bill Colley’s ugly comments being discussed on blogs.

If Sigler didn’t know about the Bull Roast and Bill Colley, he’s too stupid to be the Chairman of his own left nut.

  36. xstryker says:

What context would make that not racist? “Hey, here’s something racist some terrible person said, which I punched him in the face for…”

  37. the intelligent anon says:

Aoine – So what are you waiting for? Send all your stuff to MJ. I’m sure he’d be happy to put it up here.

  38. Aoine says:

already did….. 🙂 It doesn’t need to be posted here at all

Why bother?? – all his supporters would just say its not racist or be an apologist for him and his Rhetoric – Just look at todays thread and comment for a tast of what would be.

and its always the same when something like this happens..

no, much better to just hang on to it and when the time comes, use it judiciously – why show your cards if one does not have to?
The only people it matters to anyway are the folks that can actually bury him with it. And they will have copies

  39. MJ says:

The Fatman was trying to walk back his racist comments from the other day by claiming they were “sarcasm, but the liberals have such small cranial space they didn’t understand that.”

Um, yeah, right. I also have some ocean front property in Aspen you might be interested in.

Hey Evan – have you ever paid off those law suits for being a deadbeat renter?

  40. Joe Cass says:

@MJ, I think he came up …. a little short!

  41. jason330 says:

I’ll call them again tomorrow, but I really think that I should try to get a comment from John Daniello. The DE GOP’s endorsement of Colley’s racist hate mongery needs more light shown on it than we can bring by commenting on this blog.

  42. MJ says:

I think you’re right, Joe. He was ranting and raving between 3:00 – 4:30 PM, basically calling out liberals as being racist because they didn’t “say one word” about the white supremacist scum that was executed the same night as Troy Davis. “Yeah, they won’t comment on white on black crime, but they go crazy about black on white crime,” or words to that effect.

He then said he had a dream last night about cities going up in flames and said he believes that will happen sooner than later because liberals always play the race card and “we’re self-segregating ourselves” because we refer to ourselves as hyphenated Americans.

Think I need to talk to a friend of mine at the ADL in DC.

  43. Aoine says:

remember THIS gem?? from Bill Colley??

    http://www.delawareonline.com/blogs/2009/03/freak-show-of-day.html

there is a library of stuff like this

offensive at least – racist at best – and Seigler didn;t know

well, if he really didn’t know – he is not fit to lead – as he is not aware of what is going on

if he did know about Colley – he is not fit to lead – take your pick John!!

I was so fixated on Colley’s racist comment about Barack Obama’s father that I failed to notice his racist whining because no one protested the execution of his fellow racist who dragged a man to his death in Texas.

Did Colley ever consider that Davis’ execution was protested because there was no physical evidence in the case while the racists in Texas who dragged a man to his death behind a pick up truck were covered in the dead man’s blood?

  46. Aoine says:

those niceities are lost on a fool with no logic or reasoning abilities

Brewer also admitted to dragging him to death….no recanting of testimony, no questions he did it

not the same issue at all

  47. cassandra_m says:

The liar shows up to lie:

Unless you’re going to call Obama a terrorists for his ties to Bill Ayers…or a Muslim for his friendship with Rashid Khalidi.

*You* people have already been doing this, you know.

  48. cassandra_m says:

I listened to NPR and the BBC all day that Davis was killed. *Both* had programs that talked about Davis (who had most of the eyewitnesses in his case recant and accuse the cops of coercion) and Brewer who confessed. Meaning (for our conservative readers) that the issue of possible innocence wasn’t even a factor for Brewer.

  49. Aoine says:

    @Jason – I think you hit a nerve:

    http://www.delawarepolitics.net/shame-on-delaware-liberal/comment-page-1/#comment-61547

somehow. in David Anderson’s mind you are supposed to be responsible for the commentators in here

But he does not have to be for the commentators in there – the rounding up of hispanics with guns, the racist posts by Colley, etc..

And Don Ayotte, who posts about COD’s book being on the NY times best seller list – no one could talk him out of that delusion can post this “I read what Jason330 wrote on DL and he is not only a blatant liar, but he needs serious psychiatric help, He must have forgotten to take his meds. What he wrote is not only a blatant lie, it is malicious libel” but when he was attacked THAT was crossing the line…

So its OK for THEM to slander – see above…but no one else…see below

“People acutally begged me to sue DL and Jason330 as well as Dirty Girl for the maliciously libelous statement and I refused. But Jason330 needs help and I hope this incredibly sick individual gets help!! ”

Lots of people with no connection to either blog have been named, his blog has slandered many- and the screaming I didnt hear, nor the condemnation..

Don Ayotte, David Anderson et al – please read the meaning of hypocracy:

and for the record David – my post earlier you quoted was right on point

  50. Truth Teller says:

Why should anyone be surprised that the leaders of the GOP are remaining silent on this raciest behavior after all didn’t their so called National leaders show themselves to be cowards when the mob yelled Let Him Die and Booed a member of the armed forces who was serving in Iraq. My feelings on this entire subject mirrors those of the inspector in Casablanca when told gambling was going on as he accepted his winnings for the evening I AM SHOCKED SHOCKED.

  51. fightingbluehen says:

The problem I had with this event was that they tried to lead people to believe this was a Republican event when it was a fund raiser for a conservative PAC that has been hostile to Republicans in the past. I can’t understand why the head of the DEGOP would attend such an event.

  52. Republican David says:

Let’s see Aoine, the comment that you were referring to was immediately condemned the by the author and later by me. We discussed why the attitude was wrong, the images it evoked. Guys in pick ups rounding up “illegals” was outrageous. That is why we said it was. In fact, after that we had a meeting and decided to change the rules to delete stuff like that in the future because even when you confront it, people still try to associate you with it.

The left said that we shouldn’t have confronted what we saw was ignorance but delete it. We used it as an opportunity to educate people on why that attitude is wrong.

I would love to see the same standard here. I won’t hold my breath.

What I condemn here is the slander of hundreds of people who came out for a picnic and the party leader for accepting a check from them. There is no evidence of this contention. It is outrageous.

  53. cassandra m says:

No one here is talking about hundreds of people. Just the bad behavior of Colley and Sigler. Bad behavior that you can’t be bothered to address in order to rush to get your victim on. So go back to your own blog where you are free to be a victim of whatever.

  54. Jason330 says:

Did Colley serve as the host of the event or not? Does David have some new information that he is not sharing?

  55. Republican David says:

As for Don’s statement, Aoine, they were referring to people who lied on him and one who even made up whole cloth slander on his disabled son. Quoting people directly is not slandering them. They discredited themselves. He was right to be outraged. Any decent person would share that outrage.

  56. Jason330 says:

David’s defense seems to be that it was not a racist gathering, but a gathering hosted by a racist. Okay… I guess, if you want to play lawyer ball.

Is that Siglar’s position as well? So far no response to my voice mail. I think how much Siglar knew about Colley’s racist statements is relevant.

  57. Republican David says:

He was MC. Now what bad behavior did Sigler engage in? Accepting a check and saying thank you let’s win in 12? You are talking about the people when you call them all racists (including the Latino’s and Jews present who have contacted me outraged at your post, and ask was it a KKK rally or just a gathering of racists. Context lends only one direction. John came at the invitation of the PAC which hosted the event in partnership with the party to receive checks from those great citizens.

I understand that you don’t like the entertainer who did MC duties (not the sponsor of the event), but by all accounts he behaved. He always does at public events. The outrageous bravado is an act on air to gain attention. That hardly disqualifies him from sharing the stage with regular people. I thought his statements were outrageous, intemperate, etc. They also came right before the event so organizers couldn’t change if they wanted to. He did clarify his remarks in a way consistent with the context. It was not his point of view, but a sarcastic skewering of the white liberal perspective of that era. That puts it in the category of outrageous, insulting, intemperate, disrespectful of the President’s dead mother, but not racist.

In his mind, he is calling out racism.

In my mind, he is at best not being helpful. At worse, he was being outrageous, intemperate, etc. I don’t approve. I condemn the remarks. Still that doesn’t make him a KKK organizer and everyone around him in a room contaminated.

Now does that justify, lying on other people? Does that justify calling a bull roast a racist gathering when not one word of racism has ever been proffered to back it up? The racist incidents in Delaware are in NCC. That is where the KKK is recruiting. That is where the white crosses with racist sayings are left in yards. How are people racist for living in Sussex? I bet there are racists in every county in America. Does that mean every person in America is racist?

  58. anon says:

Bill Colley was the event’s MC. The event host was the 35th District Conservative Committee which is the PAC that tried to unseat Republican Senator Joe Booth.

Those two facts alone should have made the event radioactive for state party leadership and any self respecting Republican official.

  59. MJ says:

Next time any candidate accepts money from a gay group, or EMILY’S List, or MoveOn.org, I don’t want to see Closet and his dwarfs screaming about it being tainted, special interest money. If Closet and the 7 Dwarfs won’t condemn Siglar for taking money from an event hosted by Fatman, the bigot/racist/homophobe, then they have no right to condemn others.

  60. cassandra m says:

Because when people ask folks with published racist rants to host their political events, they get to be tainted by that. But then. you are part of the group of people who would Boo an Iraq vet for asking about DADT or Boo the death of someone without health insurance. If you aren’t pushing back on this kind of bullshit, we are free to assume you are part of the bullshit.

Anyone can tell by the long-winded rationalization above, that you are completely happy to be part of the bullshit. So expect to be called on it every time.

  61. Jason330 says:

If you don’t think that Colley’s comment about the President of the United States’ mother having sex with African “savages” to civilize them echoes KKK rhetoric about the President, you just need to do some basic research.

If you don’t think that Colley’s comment about the President of the United States’ mother having sex with African “savages” to civilize them is racist – then you don’t believe that there is such a thing as racism.

But I don’t care about what you think. I wonder if Siglar knew about Colley’s open racism and decided to attend anyway.

Now, based on your comment, I wonder if he will be returning the money raised for the DE GOP by the racist “entertainer”

  62. anon says:

Republican David, Bill Colley was the MC at another event like this where he publicly humiliated Michele Rollins and then lied and called her a “gate crasher” so spare us the lie about how the racist Bill Colley is always Mr Wonderful at events. The fact that he is not is a matter of public record.

  63. anon says:

Colley’s racist rant got cross-posted by a site that appears to be some kind of Aryan nation site.

    http://www.newsnet14.com/?p=80988

That supports the view that events hosted by Colley could be construed as a racist gatherings.

  64. liberalgeek says:

As if to underscore the point, my corporate firewall won’t let me go there. The reason given is “HATE”. I guess it won’t be long before the WGMD site is blocked.

  65. Jason330 says:

I’ll have to ask him that if he ever returns my call.

The teabaggers came charging in here with their libel threats and triggered the Streisand effect.

  69. MJ says:

Same here, LG. Site was blocked because of Racism and Hate.

  70. anon says:

Newsnet14 is David Duke’s website. Bill Colley’s post was picked up by David Duke’s website BECAUSE THEY LIKED IT. I consider that a crystal clear, undisputable indication that Colley’s post is RACIST.

I would love to see Don Ayotte, Jon Moseley and David Anderson try to spin THAT.

  71. Miscreant says:

“Bill Colley’s post was picked up by David Duke’s website BECAUSE THEY LIKED IT.”

For Colley this is, no doubt, a masturbatory fantasy. I wonder if he’s going to be stupid enough to brag about this.

  72. Jason330 says:

“I wonder if he’s going to be stupid enough to brag about this.”

    I don’t.

  73. pandora says:

Hmmm… could this post by Colley be considered a retraction?

  74. Jason330 says:

Classic non-apology apology. He is sorry feelings were hurt, but defends the offensive comment under the pretext that nobody understood it.

The white supremacists he writes for understood it well enough.

  75. Geezer says:

That’s the most thoughtful thing I’ve ever read under his name.

  76. pandora says:

Do you think he was pressured to write this… due to Jason’s brilliant blogging?

  77. puck says:

Without a doubt. Like I said – the Streisand effect. Turn on the lights and the cockroaches start scurrying.

  78. MJ says:

I wonder what he’ll say on his show today.

  79. Miscreant says:

“I wonder what he’ll say on his show today.”

Only one way to find out…

Let us know what he says.

  80. anon says:

If you have to think about whether or not it’s an apology, it’s not an apology.

Colley is typical of his right wing cohorts in Sussex who have a philosophy that goes, “It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.” Meaning do what you know is wrong and then act contrite when you get called on it. This isn’t the first time he’s crossed the line with his commentary and got spanked, it won’t be the last, and that post is his usual response.

The only reason he wrote it is because Glen Urquhart, the 9/12 Delaware Patriots and the tea party, and Christine O’Donnell need him on the air pushing their agenda. Once the heat is off of him, he’ll be saying the same shit again with his usual rabid fervor. It’s his M.O.

  81. anon says:

I remember him Tweeting that he owed Michele Rollins an apology after the primary and after 4 months of going on the air and saying things about her like that she sold her uterus to the highest bidder, she was pure evil and she would have been nothing if she hadn’t married money (she was the legal council for Shell Oil when she met John Rollins).

I call “bullshit” on the whole post.

  82. anon2 says:

He was just asked on the air about the comments he made and he quoted Pat Buchanan saying that liberals would use the race card against tea partiers, and “I’m fine with that.”

So there you go, it’s not his comments about Barack Obama’s mother that were wrong, DelawareLiberal is wrong for playing the race card against him.

  83. Delaware Dem says:

Calling out racism is not using the race card. Once again, Bill Colley shows that all the GOP does is project their faults on others because it is the only defense they have.

  84. cassandra m says:

Colley’s non-apology here is stone cold bullshit.

And Delaware Liberal played no race card. We just pointed out the obvious racist content of his post. The thing about the Colleys of this world is that they expect to be free to be bigots. And when called on their despicable words, they retreat into the usual victimology. Erasing the fact that they’ve just been victimized by their own bigotry and stupidity.

Colley and those like him are damn proud that they can call out the mothers of people they don’t like for *sleeping with savages*. And he makes his living specifically pandering to the racial anxieties of his listeners. He knows what he’s doing and he knows what his listeners want to hear. This country isn’t going into any strife that he and those like him aren’t working overtime to gin up. Because if he cared about the daily life of this country, he would never be in the business of validating bigotry towards fellow Americans.

  85. Republican David says:

What race card? You threw the whole sickening deck of smears, slander, and race-baiting at people who had nothing to do with the alleged offense.

  86. NoHate says:

When does the boycott of WGMD’s advertiser’s begin? Sigler is bad, but businesses down there actually FUND this hate with their dollars. Every one of theme needs to be called out for it. Don’t leave the racist roaches anywhere to hide!

And RD, you would excuse anything these people say or do- that makes you a hypocrite of the first order!

  87. anon says:

Bill Colley lied about Glen Urkhart’s primary challenger almost every day on the air before the primary until she was destroyed in Sussex County, and after Urkhart squeaked through the primary Republican David made thousands of dollars working on Urkhart’s campaign.

Sell your values out much RD?

  88. WHAT? Colley is a racist? says:

    oops

  89. WHAT? Colley is a racist? says:

… why am I just now finding this website/blog….

They called Churchill the British Bulldog… Delmarva Conservatives have a sniveling coward…….

  90. WHAT? Colley is a racist? says:

it’s also hilarious hearing Colley go on and on (and on and on) about this country and it’s falling moral values – like being married and raising a family….

And yes, he is a divorced man that left his child to be raised by someone else while he moved down here…..

  91. puck says:

Holy crap. I just dropped in on the WGMD website and randomly read a news article:

DE’s Congressional Delegation Announces $3M for Home Visiting Program

“Delaware’s Congressional Delegation has announced an estimated $3 million in federal funding for the DHSS Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program.”

The grant will build on DHSS’ current home-visiting program to help at-risk families receive home visits from nurses and social workers to improve maternal and child health, child development, school readiness, economic self sufficiency and child abuse prevention.

… something Sussex no doubt needs desparately.

But WGMD hates Democrats so much they can’t bring themselves to mention the names of our Congressmen, or call for any quotes, lest a Democrat get credit for the program. And this is the NEWS section.

And then, commenters with vile comments about the program, including this one:

“What a joke!!! These people they will visit could care less and will benefit elzippo. I think i’ll quit working so they quit wasting my money”

… no doubt written by one of those bottom 40 percenters Republicans are always saying don’t pay taxes.

  92. cassandra m says:

Delusionbal David, this is *one* of the race cards and a pretty damned stupid one at that:
He’s a lot like the liberal women of another generation who believed crawling into bed with exotic peoples was mission work. It wasn’t necessarily because you believed in equality; it was because it was the liberal version of White Man’s Burden. Heck, Dr. Stanley Ann Dunham traveled the globe linking up with “savages” and civilizing them in the sack! Her efforts even created a President of the United States.

The other race card is presenting a piece ranting about liberal motives in trying to stop state sponsored killing that depended upon contrasting the cases of Davis and Brewster. That particular rant elided a whole lot of the rationale behind the fierce protest of the Davis killing — including the fact that the system may not have worked. Lots of officials spoke up including people like William Sessions who you won’t be able to paint with your wild-eyed liberal brush. THIS particular race card is about pretending that voices speaking up for justice for black people are somehow deranged and misguided — all the while never, ever hearing one word of their argument.

Which, of course, is all of a piece with you folks. You preserve the right to the worst behavior for yourselves, while throwing the 10 Commandments at the rest of us. The ones that say Thou Shall Not Kill, and you shall not bear false witness. The latter you are guilty of many times over coming over here to excuse some of the most despicable behavior ever. And it is despicable of you to even think of coming over here to defend that bullshit. One more time — take your defense of Colley over to your own blog. The people there are more than willing to overlook the complete moral failure of even trying to defend Colley’s behavior.

  93. Aoine says:

    An apology looks like this:

    “I am sorry”

just in case Bill Colley needs a primer on the fine art of apologizing.

  94. MJ says:

You all know that the Fatman is just eating this up, don’t you? I heard he’s also tossing off while reading all of this.

  95. Frank Knotts says:

As someone who was one of those who planned the event this past Saturday I take offense at being compared to the KKK.
There has been much made of the comments that Bill Colley made. I will not attempt to defend them. Also Mr. Colley has a much larger pulpit from which to defend himself.
My concern is that there are those who would label all who worked on the event and all who attended the event, as racist based on these comments and the fact that Mr. Colley was the M/C of the event.
I would venture to guess that like myself few people who were at the event actually heard the comments. Yet our good and noble friends on the left over at DL choose to smear every person at the event by calling it a KKK meeting.
This idea of guilt by association harkens back to the “single drop” mentallity of the Nazis. When a single drop of Jewish blood was enough to send you to the gas chamber.
I am little surprised that those on the left who are accusing others of acting like the KKK or Nazis, are themselves behaving like the KKK and Nazis.
If to say one person who is part of a gathering is a racist, and so all who are a part of that gathering are racist. Do my good and noble liberal friends, then consider Pres. Obama a racist for attending and sitting through the sermons of Jeremiah Wright? If the President attends a gathering of Muslims, does this make him a Muslim? To use this logic on a broader scale, doesn’t it mean that if one person within our society is racist, then all of us are racist. Where do we draw the line.
It is clear that Saturday’s event was a conservative success. The liberals can’t stand this. So they choose to use their so called trump card. Once they call racist, everyone is supposed to shut up and bow to the liberal god of race. The facts are, on Saturday no windows were broken. No police cars were set on fire. No one was arrested. The liberal’s attempt at painting this event as being racist, is born out of their hatred of conservatism. It is born out of their hatred of this nation. The same as they cloak themselves as the keepers of fairness, while hurling nothing but hatred. They also cloak themselves in patriotism, while working to divide and destroy this great land.
Now go ahead and do your best. I care little for the thoughts of such small people, as those who have made this their challenge to the ideals of conservatism

  96. cassandra m says:

Somebody *please* close the door to the clown car!

Because for all of their chest beating about not caring about what other people think, they are spending too much time over here making sure their lunacy is well and truly memorialized.

  97. MJ says:

Frank, stop playing the victim here. If you want to associate yourself with the Fatman, then you’re going to get tainted by what he says and stands for. And stop with the comparisons to Jews lost in the Holocaust. As someone who lost family in those concentration camps, I find it extremely offensive.

  98. Jason330 says:

I want to know if Siglar went to the event knowing that it was hosted by one of Delaware’s most high profile racists. I want to know if the DE GOP condones statement’s like Colley’s.

Since he runs the party, I think those are questions that both Democrats and Republicans would like the answer to.

  99. anon says:

Seriously? Where do you “draw the line?”

You draw the line at bringing in an MC who Tweets comments like:

BumpColley 9-12 Patriots’ meeting tonight. Per usual we’ll torch a hairdresser & string up a couple of Moors. 7 hours ago · reply · retweet · favorite

You draw the line at bringing in an MC for an event who publicly humiliated a Republican candidate for the US Congress the last time he MC’d an event, then lied about her being a gate crasher.

His disgusting post about Barack Obama’s mother “civilizing” “savages” in the sack was posted on the front page of the WGMD website before the Bull Roast. His post about “undocumented immigrant bean festivals” has been sitting on WGMD’s website for months.

Don’t act like the 35th District Conservative Committee didn’t know exactly who Bill Colley was and what kinds of divisive comments he makes, he’s the damn mouthpiece for the PAC. He uses WGMD to push the PAC’s agenda. He BRAGS about it on the air!

If you don’t want to be called a “RACIST” stop using a RACIST as your frontman.

    Once again, I call BULLSHIT!

  100. Aoine says:

Look Frank – most of the time you seem decent – mis-informed and mis-lead but decent
    we can disagree on politics
but do NOT undermine our intelligence by claiming the “one drop” thing
Colley has long been know for riling up his callers and allowing racist vile ugly things to be said on his radio show
and you Damn well know it
dont go all innocent and wide-eyed now that you all got caught with your hands in the cookie jar
Colley was a founding member of SCCOR – there were several ugly posts put there that were offensive and racist
this had been going on for years – what Colley recently did is simply the most outrageous thing in a long ist of outrageous things.

Save your outrage for abortion or medical pot – but please, do not attempt to negate what Colley is or does and your association with him

all of you should have policed your own. you lay down with the dog – its your fault you got fleas

  101. Frank Knotts says:

Again, I will not attempt to defend the comments made by Bill Colley. But do you hold all to the same standards? You say to share a stage with someone is to share their guilt. Do you believe that Pres. Obama is guilty of racism? Is he guilty of mob connections? Is he guilty of bombings? Is he a socialist? Because he has shared the stage many times with many different people with doccumented histories of such things.
There were a lot of good people at that event. People whose only concerns were about the direction of the state in which they live. For Jason and the others to label all racist, is sad and a cheap tactic to draw attention to this site. If that is your best shot at confronting the ideals of conservatism, then it explains why your chosen party and leader are so far down in the polls. Because your hate filled rhetoric is no better than that which you pretend to condemn.

  102. MJ says:

Frank, you and the other dwarfs over at DP have been calling the President a socialist from the day he got elected.

  103. cassandra m says:

Because he has shared the stage many times with many different people with doccumented histories of such things.

And every time he does, you people are woking overtime to make sure that people know he is a Muslim/secret terrorist/Chicago thug/ socialist and every other name you can attach to him. You cannot possibly be here asking for generosity that you are NEVER willing to extend.

If you don’t want to be called a racist, then stop glorifying them. It *is* that easy.

  104. Republican David says:

He is a socialist of the democratic, Fabian variety. That is what you call people who pseudo nationalize industry. That is not an insult, MJ. That is just reality. You are also wrong that it we started the day he was elected. We told you that before the election and sadly, we were correct.

  105. fightingbluehen says:

The truth and logic of both Frank and David’s points are pretty much evident in my opinion.

  106. anon says:

Frank Knotts: No crosses burned, it was a great day for conservatives a huge success. This teabagger bubble has to explode or implode on them. They live in an alternate reality.

  107. MJ says:

Hmm – TARP was Bush. Two off-budget, unpaid for wars (imperialism) – that was Bush, too. What has he nationalized? Last time I checked, the auto industry, the banking industry, the media, sports teams, massage parlors (you’re familiar with those aren’t you Closet?) – all privately owned.

  108. Frank Knotts says:

A little thing called “Obama care”? Though we are trying to correct that mistake. As for calling the President a socialist. Okay. Will you call him one? Will you say that he is guilty by association of bombing police stations? Of being a racist for sitting through Jeremiah wright’s sermons? You ask the GOP to condemn Colley, yet you turn your blind eye towards the president and his affiliations. Can you afford the windows in that glass house MJ? Maybe you should focus on your own problems.

  109. jason330 says:

Bottom Line: The Republican argument here is that this was not a racist gathering, simply a gathering hosted by a racist. I still want to know what Siglar knew and when he knew it.

  110. WHAT? Colley is a racist? says:

I heard Colley talk about racism today – hearing him talk about racism is like hearing Jeffrey Dahmer discuss his favorite recipies.

He’s just a man that is very very alone and in order to feel better about his lot in life has to spew his hate anywhere and everywhere he can. But have you seen him lately, he won’t be with us much longer – he’s 1 jelly donut away from the big one.

But now he has an international following on the Aryan website – his family must be so proud – oh that’s right – he abandoned them long ago…..

  111. WHAT? Colley is a racist? says:

    love Ron Paul’s latest rant.

First he complains that POTUS Obama is too soft and not tough enough on terrorism – them POTUS Obama oversees the mission killing one of Al Qaeda’s top people and Paul calls it “an unconstitutional act of assassination”.

So now a GOP candidate running for the nomination sides with Al Qaeda?

….rich….. Paul sides with Al Qaeda and Colley has his work on a Aryan website – can Ron Paul PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a guest call in for the Colley show that dozens of people listen to?

  112. Geezer says:

“A little thing called “Obama care”

Under which people will buy health insurance from — private health insurers. Yeah, that’s socialist, all right.

You right-wing resentment-mongers are going to have to learn that just because you hate Obama and you hate socialism, that does not make Obama a socialist.

  113. cassandra m says:

They don’t hate socialism so much once they qualify for Medicare, though.
