Eagles Week 2 Prediction

Filed in Sports by on September 18, 2011

Long time readers know that my big problem with Donovan McNubbins was that he was a “no heart chump.”   What do I mean by that?  It is complicated, but to be concise, I’d say that “no heart chump” means someone who is ambivalent about winning.   In a league like the NFL where everyone is very good, heart is the X-factor.   You have to really, really, really, want to win.   When calls don’t go your way, you have to use that injustice and bounce off it.  When you are a no heart chump losing does not haunt your dreams it is a part of life.  Sure you’d rather win, but after all it is a team sport… yaga yada yada.

And guess what?   There is nobody in  the NFL who wants to win more than Michael Vick.   So the Falcons are going to have a long prime time evening.

Prediction:

Eagles 3  Falcons 21

Aside: Beautiful TD pass by Drew Breas just then.

all the build up and vick-praise and you dont even think they’ll get a TD? or were those numbers flipped

It is a comment on my predicting prowess. If you go through the archives of this very site, you will find that I predicted that the Bengals would go all the way last year.

I just saw a rack of nice Eagles T-shirts on sale for $5. I was about to buy one or two and was looking for my size when I turned the shirt over and found out why it was $5:

    “McNabb”

I’d have bought two McNabb tees at that price.
One to defecate on and the other to cover it up with.

Vick seems to find a way to lose big games all by himself, though. Last night was no exception.

  6. Jason330 says:

Right. That was crafty of him to get knocked out of the game like that.

  7. NosyNeighbor says:

Wasn’t it 31 to 21 going into the 4th? I’d say it was the Eagles’ defense that lost the game.

  8. anonone says:

Vick cost the team 10 point by turnovers, including a fumble at 1st and goal that Atlanta turned into 7 points in the 2d quarter. That was the game right there.

Vick doesn’t win big games. He just doesn’t.

  9. NosyNeighbor says:

You’re right – Vick screwed up with his interception and two fumbles wasn’t it? Still, they had a 10 point lead going into the 4th and with all the additions to the “Dream Team” on the defensive side of the ball they should have been able to close the deal. You have to blame the defense too. They gave up the lead and lost the game.
