I’m not sad that I missed that display. What gets me is how unguarded the Republicans are about the kind of bloodthirsty theocracy they want for America.

  2. MJ says:

Why even have a trial in Texas – just take the accused out to the nearest tree and hang ’em.

  3. Aoine says:

right up until that blood thirsty theocracy comes for their heads on a plate

we”ll hang him – right after the trial……….

and make no mistake – I am pro-death penalty and in some cases would like to see it expanded

Serial rapists, serial molesters, the monsters of our society …….those that are not able to be rehabilitated

that said, the standard for carrying it out must be extremely high – no junk science, no juveniles, no dimished capacity etc

I for one can’t wait for Delaware to execute cop killer/Derrick Powell!

  5. Republican David says:

It is called justice. Justice is worth celebrating. The last time I checked that was a good thing. Ruthless, premeditated murder of innocent people is bad.

  6. jason330 says:

    Closet,

You don’t want Perry dispensing justice. Because he’ll be coming for you guys in short order. Trust me.

Even if you assume that Governor Perry is “dispensing justice” in Texas, despite the Governor’s lack of authority in such, almost all executions in this country are carried out for violations of state, rather than federal, laws. Even under the younger President Bush, formerly Governor of Texas, there were only three federal executions, so, even with 52 people on federal death row, and given two terms, there couldn’t be nearly as many people executed under President Perry — who would have independent pardoning or commutation authority — than under Governor Perry, who has no such power.

I meant closeted gays. If you want me to spell it out, Perry will be coming for closeted gays like David.

  9. Geezer says:

This isn’t about Perry. It’s about bloodthirsty Republicans. I don’t care how guilty most of them were. It’s not something you cheer about. David, you should know better.

  10. nemski says:

    Spot on Geezer.

  11. anonone says:

David celebrates “justice” in the same way Osama Bin Laden and his ilk did on 9/12.

Both were cut from the same cloth of religious fanaticism.
