Thanks, Supreme Court
Mitt Romney is definitely benefiting from Citizens United. Financial disclosures records of Restore Our Future, a Super PAC set up to support Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, show it was bankrolled, in part, by a million dollar donation from one suspicious donor. That donor is a mystery company that was created in March and dissolved shortly after its donation in July, NBC reports.

On Wisconsin
As UI wrote the other day, many of the recall elections in Wisconsin are scheduled for next Tuesday. And there have been some interesting developments of late. It seems that Marie Antoinette has been reincarnated in the form of GOP Senator Alberta Darling.

How Do We Deal With This?
What’s the solution? I’m serious. Dems held their ground and “tens of thousands” of people are out of work. Republicans don’t care. Yet again they’ve not only taken a hostage they’re willing to shoot, they’ve taken one they want to shoot.

Kathleen Sibelius and the Health and Human Services Department accepted the recommendations of the U.S. Institute of Medicine to expand the required women’s wellness services offered by insurance companies. This decision affects private insurance only — there aren’t federal funds covering these new services. But this is a bit of good news, considering the organized onslaught women’s rights are suffering at this moment.

Legislative Perks That I Have Known
I am struck with the genuine surprise that many WDEL listeners felt when reading the News-Journal’s articles on Tigani and his (wait for it) ilk, and were especially surprised at the, let’s say, easy relationships between lobbyists and legislators (and, yes, legislative staff) and governors (and, yes gubernatorial staff). So, in the interest of full disclosure, I’m going to lay out as many of the legislative perks that I can recall. This will not be an all-inclusive list, so I intend to add to it as my memories come back. I would invite any and all anonymous current or former legislative staffers to add to the list.

Seems that Congressman Doug Lamborn (Teabag – CO) has a new pet name for President Obama. I wonder why he just didn’t use the N-word or call him boy.
From the Denver Post:
A short clip of the Colorado Springs Republican speaking about the debt ceiling debate during a talk radio program on Friday went viral.
