Michelle Bachmann – The Jewish Candidate?

Filed in National by on August 31, 2011

Michelle Bachmann is stealing money from Mitt Romney. She’s not really stealing it, but Jewish GOP donors who may have normally giving their money to Romney are sending it Bachmann. The think that . . . wait for it . . . . that she is a Jew.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is facing a new challenge: He’s having trouble raising money from some Jewish donors who mistakenly believe one of his opponents, Michele Bachmann, is Jewish.

Some Jewish donors are telling fund-raisers for Romney, a Mormon, that while they like him, they’d rather open their wallets for the “Jewish candidate,” who they don’t realize is actually a Lutheran, The Post has learned.

“It’s a real problem,” one Romney fund-raiser said. “We’re working very hard in the Jewish community because of Obama’s Israel problem. This was surprising.”

Poor Mitt. First he is afflicted by Christians who don’t believe he is a Christian; now he’s got Jews who think his opponent is Jewish. Is their anybody more persecuted and downtrodden than Mitt Romney?

    Mazel tov, Michelle.

Although, there is the ever-present possibility that Perry will implode, making it a race between Bachmann and Romney again.

  2. jason330 says:

I would have liked to see Mitt put up a Huntsman-like no holds barred sanity campaign against the crazy wing (base) of the GOP. He isn’t going to win anyway.

  3. puck says:

    “no holds barred sanity campaign”

That’s really his only option. He isn’t going to out-crazy them.

Of all the Repubs I think Romney would come closest to actually governing like a human being.

When Bush took office in 2000 I hunkered down and thought he would just be regular Republican-president bad and we would get through it. I didn’t realize he would lower the bar so much and destroy so much of the economy.

Romney would probably be just regular Republican-president bad. But he’s not going to win.

  4. Geezer says:

I dunno. That corn dog looks circumcized to me.

  5. Valentine says:

I find it hard to believe that any significant number of Jews thinks Bachmann is Jewish. Where is that quote taken from?

  6. jason330 says:

We are talking about Jewish Republicans, so basically the stupidest Jews imaginable.

  7. Valentine says:

Just because you don’t agree with their politics, doesn’t make them stupid. It’s not like being a gay Republican.

  8. MJ says:

“Jewish Republicans…basically the stupidest Jews imaginable.” As the resident Rabbi here at DL, I can attest to how stupid Jewish republicans are. One in Denver, Larry Mizel, decided to invite John Hagee to speak at the Denver Allied Jewish Federation’s dinner last November. After many big financial supporters protested, Mizel disinvited Hagee. Hagee, if you remember, has cast aspersions on homosexuals, Catholics and Muslims, and called Hurricane Katrina β€œthe judgment of G-d against the city of New Orleans.” Mizel is a big-time GOP supporter.

Then you have Jack Abramoff – not only stupid but crooked, too.

The problem, as I see it, is that too many evangelicals go out of their way to express support for the State of Israel, even going as far as claiming admiration for the Jewish people. Then in the same breath, they categorically state that unless Jews become “saved,” they’re going to Hell and Israel will be destroyed. And some of these so called Jews call themselves “messianic Jews,” playing right into the hands of these evangelicals.

Bachmann is just another shiksa and I’m sure she’s eating up this confusion over her religion. Sie vacson like a tzibila mit sie kop in drerd (she should grow like an onion with her head in the ground).

  9. Joe Cass says:

Then you have Eric Cantor – not only stupid but crooked, too.

    Fixed it for ya.

  10. Valentine says:

If only Cantor were stupid, we would be a lot better off.

  11. Joe Cass says:

@Valentine, when a person has other entities (heritage) write your proposals and said person fails to do any fact checking but goes headfirst into speechifying, that is stupid.

  12. anon says:

Herman Cain is the real Jewish candidate. He went to Israel with Glen Beck. check out his website. Playing for the jewish vote is what they all do. Take a look at a real Jew, Eric Kantor who led 55 teabaggers to Israel. Never saw the West Bank or Gaza though, oh no that would mean they would see with their own eyes the concrete walls, the humility of all those check points, highways for Jews only! Its the spelling of Bachman last name that makes them think she is jewish! She is nothing but an evangelical christian who believes in the old testment, the Jewish fairy tales.

  13. MJ says:

Um, anon, what “Jewish fairy tales” are you referring to?

And Cain can’t be Jewish – he’s puts sausage on his pizzas.

Check your spelling while you’re at it – it’s Cantor, not Kantor, and it’s Bachmann (2 “N’s”).

  14. V says:

Here’s a really interesting theory on why evangelicals are so supportive of Israel. Its existance (and subsequent destruction by the big man upstairs) plays a HUGE part in the Rapture story. No Israel = no imminent rapture.

  15. MJ says:

Which is why, V, they are so bent on converting Jews.

  16. MJ says:

Also, Cain cannot be Jewish, he isn’t Abel. πŸ™‚

  17. anon says:

You’re going to Purgatory for that one. Ouuuuuch.

  18. Aoine says:

    @MJ – HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  19. Gracie says:

And some people believe Eric Cantor is a christian fundamentalist. Seriously. I read a lot of comments about it, laughing my head off. He ain’t even Jews for Jesus. He is a Conservative Jews.

Well, I guess Christian and Jewish voters aren’t really that different, eh?

  20. Gracie says:

And some of you didn’t notice that Jewishness and being Kosher don’t go together? Yeah, imagine that. Some Jews don’t keep 2 thousand years old food rules, and still consider themselves Jewish… Surprise!

  21. Valentine says:

The vast majority of Jews are Democrats.

  22. Joe Cass says:

@Valentine Its nice to have a spokesperson for the tribe.
