A former patient who sought help from [...]

Republicans In Disarray – Throw Them An Anchor

I’ll admit to enjoying watching the Republican cannibalism on the debt ceiling. What I won’t enjoy is an unnecessary US debt default.

US Woman’s Amazing Goal Vs. Brazil

Megan Rapinoe served up a gem and Abby Wambach closed the deal with authority.

Top Ten Cost-Cutting Measures Revealed!

It’s time to figure out how we are going to make ends meet in case we don’t have a debt ceiling increase by August 2nd. Since it is unlikely that we wouldn’t pay the interest on our debt, we need to come up with about a 50% reduction in spending on everything else. I’m thinking that if all of my list were enacted, we would be just about there.

One of the astonishing things about the teajadi ambivalence over raising the debt limit is their contention that *not* raising the debt limit is not that big of a deal. Especially from the *personal responsibility* crowd who would be quick to condemn the kind of folks who overextend themselves and then decide to not pay their bills. But it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that the Welfare Queen DNA is sourced in today’s GOP.

This is not exactly the clean bill Obama asked for up front, but it is pretty close.
WASHINGTON (AP) — With compromise talks at a vituperative standstill, Senate Republicans unexpectedly offered Tuesday to hand President Barack Obama new powers to avert the first-ever government default threatened for Aug. 2.
Under a proposal outlined by Sen. [...]

A Nation of Socialists

It is always amusing to listen to the teajadis and their bleats about socialism or redistributing wealth — especially since you know that most of them are some of the biggest beneficiaries of government handouts on the planet. Now we can see exactly how much redistribution Americans take advantage of and we don’t even *know* that these are government programs:
