    Tim McVeigh’s ghost.

  2. liberalgeek says:

Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store tells the BBC that though the government will have to physically relocate in Oslo due to the bombings, Norway will not “sell out our core values of democracy” in the face of the attacks.

Wow! That was pretty much exactly what Bush said in 2001… or not.

  3. Jason330 says:

Bush pretty much wrote the book on what not to do.

Although the Norwegian could have been mistranslated. A proper translation would probably be something like “Bring it on you MFers! Now where is my copy of My Pet Goat?”

  5. The latest: Norwegian police have arrested 1 blonde Norwegian guy and say he is responsible for both the bombing in Oslo and the shootings. He was dressed as a cop.

  6. There are 7 dead in Oslo and perhaps 10 dead at the youth camp.

  7. Horrible news – latest update says 80 killed at Utoeya youth camp. The suspect has ties to right wing extremists, including Pamela Geller.

  8. Latest death toll is 91. Reading about the suspect, he sounds like pure evil. He started an agricultural business 2 years ago so he could stockpile fertilizer.

  9. Geezer says:

Are we allowed to blame this on the insanity spouted by right-wingers yet? Or to wonder how long it would have taken him to stab 91 people to death?

  10. socialistic ben says:

or if he would have killed so many people if more people in Norway carried guns.

  11. jason330 says:

    Obamacare did it.

  12. cassandra_m says:

Oh yes, right-wing fanaticism is right up there for blame.

A suspected right-wing fanatic accused of killing at least 92 people deemed his acts “atrocious” yet “necessary” as Norway mourned victims of the nation’s worst attacks since World War Two.

Breivik hated “cultural marxists,” wanted a “crusade” against the spread of Islam and liked guns […]

    Sounds very familiar indeed.

  13. jason330 says:

And we used to be known for exporting social justice and human rights.

  14. puck says:

“wanted a “crusade” against the spread of Islam…”

Ironically, some US states are considering anti-Islamic resolutions on the grounds of “preventing homegrown terrorism.”

  15. Geezer says:

If we thought like right-wingers, we could use this horror as an excuse to round up all the right-wingers and put them in cages in Gitmo without explanation or charges. Because, y’know, they’re all potential terrorists.

  16. jason330 says:

When you are a right-winger everything confirms and reinforces your fears and prejudices. Some Republicans are already saying that this shooting in Norway, the country that gave us the Nobel Peace Prize – is wrongheaded to think that “peace” is worthy pursuit.

“How’s That Peace Prize Thing Working Out For You Norway?”
