One of the most popular stories in the wingnut-o-sphere is the one about Bill Clinton urging Dems to act like Republicans.

I say, ‘eff you Bill Clinton.

  2. anon says:

If Bill Clinton had just kept his pants zipped, by now we’d… we’d…

we’d be in the first term of the Lieberman Administration.

    Never mind.

  3. Delaware Dem says:

Actually, anon… If Clinton kept his pants zipped, there would be no need for Gore to chose Lieberman. The whole reason Gore chose Lieberman was because Lieberman gave this horrible moralistic shame on you speech on the Senate floor condemning Clinton. It was Gore’s way of distancing himself from Clinton, which he should never have done.

So no sex scandal for Clinton means Gore does not pick Lieberman. It also means Gore wins the election easily. He would have chosen John Kerry as his running mate. Not John Edwards, because with no Clinton sex scandal, John Edwards is never elected over Lauch Faircloth in the North Carolina Senate race in 1998.

9/11 would have been prevented more likely than not, since the Clinton-Gore administrations are hot on the tail of Al-Queda, a ball that was dropped the Bush team during the transition. No Iraq War. No Afghanistan War. The economy humming along at a good clip between 2002 and 2004 means that Gore would have been reelected over McCain-Dole (Liddy).

    BUT!!

The horrible 2008 Collapse would have still happened. Meaning that the Kerry-Clinton (Hillary) ticket would have lost horribly to Jeb Bush and Mike Huckabee.

  4. Mark H says:

DD, the Harry Turtledove of politics 🙂

  5. Delaware Dem says:

    Hahaha. I love alternate history.

  6. Delaware Dem says:

Also, if Clinton kept his pants zipped, I am not sure Hillary Clinton would ever become Senator either. Hmmm….

  7. PBaumbach says:

    per WSJ:
A Wisconsin circuit-court judge issued a permanent injunction Thursday that bars a bill curbing public-employee bargaining rights from going into effect.

  8. Jason330 says:

I’m so old that I remember when wingnuts wanted to change the Constitution so that Arnold Schwarzenegger could run for President.

Now the Republican d-bag is under criminal nvestigation for using the California Highway Patrol to help him bang chicks.

  9. Joe Cass says:

I am thankful for the sacrifices of our military forces, those that kept America strong before and those that demonstrate our resolve now. If your out there now, please come home safe. If you are home, let us keep you safe. All due respect to the fallen. May there never be another flag draped coffin landing in Dover.

  10. fightingbluehen says:

Patriot Act? OK let’s hear the excuses.

  11. liberalgeek says:

Yeah, the Patriot Act pisses me off, and I am glad Rand Paul beat them up about it. Too bad he didn’t win this one.

    Now I need to shower.

  12. fightingbluehen says:

“Now the Republican d-bag is under criminal nvestigation for using the California Highway Patrol to help him bang chicks.”

I’m so old that I remember that same accusation about a certain ex governor from Arkansas.

  13. Geezer says:

I’m not so old that I can’t tell the difference between one dirtball being accused only after he became president and another being accused only after his political career was over.
