Donald Ayotte, the Teabagger from downstate seeking to Teabag the entire GOP, has withdrawn from the GOP Chairman race, opting instead to run for the Vice Chairman’s job. The GOP Chairman race is now between perennial loser and airline pilot Mike Protack and former NRA President John Sigler of Dover.

Jennifer Moses is conflicted.
All of which brings me to a question: Why do so many of us not only permit our teenage daughters to dress like this—like prostitutes, if we’re being honest with ourselves—but pay for them to do it with our AmEx cards?
Gee, I don’t know, Jennifer. Why are you okay [...]
General Assembly Post-Game Wrap-Up/Pre-Game Show: Weds., April 6, 2011
Perhaps the greatest thing about this blogging gig is that I get to wallow in self-indulgence. (However, not as much as Matt Denn does. Before I die, I want to write one sentence at least as funny as “I am confident that I am the only Lieutenant Governor in America who has had to [...]

The Very Serious Paul Ryan Budget
The very serious Paul Ryan released his magical deficit reduction plan yesterday. Cutting taxes = deficit reduction and ending Medicare = JOBS.

I am not breaking my recent promise to have mercy on my liberal brothers and sisters by dragging poor Barack through the “purity” mud with my magic pony. I promise.
Rather – I am pointing out, (for my nth time as a blogger) that there are two ways to conduct a national campaign. There is the Democratic Party’s system of trying to appeal to 5% of the “swing” voters through “triangulation.” We can also call this the “50% plus 1″ strategy that Bill Clinton won with. There is the “Energize the Base” strategy which a Democrat won with in 2008.

Obama Strategy Explained
The underlying message: Unlike his opponents, Barack Obama doesn’t have the luxury of playing the political game on a 24×7 basis. He’s not just a candidate, he’s President of the United States of America. He’s got the responsibility to govern, and he’s not going to lose sight of that. The intended contrast with the GOP is obvious. While Republicans will nominate a candidate for whom winning will be job number one, President Obama’s most important job is and will continue to be leading the nation.

Primary Obama from the Left? I’m Now Thinking “Maybe”
It could be my recent trip to Vermont speaking, but I’m coming to the conclusion that Obama needs a primary opponent to pull him to the left. While I realize that a hard fought Democratic primary would be a godsend for the eventual Republican nominee – I just don’t see another way to [...]

So horrible that they fear women will fake having been raped, or lie about being incest victims in order to get abortions.
Then they voted for a bill that forces “women who became pregnant due to rape or incest, or women for whom pregnancy threatens their life or could cause serious and irreversible physical harm” to carry to term.
