Now We Know What This Birther Nonsense Is About

Filed in National by on April 15, 2011

The Arizona Senate passed a “birther bill” which would require presidential candidates to produce a “long form” birth certificate to be on the ballot. In an effort to seem less insane, the Senare adopted an amendment that makes the bill even more batsh*t.

As originally proposed, a candidate would have to produce a certified copy of a “long form birth certificate” which would have to include the date and place of birth, the names of the hospital and any attending physician, and the signatures of any witnesses in attendance.

Senators accepted an amendment by Sen. Frank Antenori, R-Tucson, for alternatives for those who are legally qualified but do not have such a document. Instead, a candidate could produce a baptismal or circumcision certificate, a hospital birth record, a postpartum medical record or an early census record.

The Secretary of State, who would make the final determination of a candidate’s qualifications, also could accept a notarized affidavit from at least two people who witnessed the birth.

It’s always about the penis isn’t it? How insane is this bill? The Arizona Senate just said they won’t honor a state-issued birth certificate but will instead accept unofficial documents? None of those documents would be acceptable for a passport or driver’s license. I doubt Obama is worried. I doubt this law would stand any court scrutiny. We also know that the long form certificate exists – I’m sure Hawai’i would allow Obama to use that copy in this instance. What a waste of time and money.

Um, I don’t remember seeing a bris certificate. In fact, I think the only thing that was signed was a card congratulating my parents. After that, everyone stood around and ate sponge cake and gefilte fish (or so I’m told).

You’d think that most Republicans would be embarrassed by being associated with the birther nonsense. But once you see the polls showing that most Republicans have doubts about Obama’s birthplace, you realize that most Republicans are too stupid to be embarrassed by it.

Once again, teabaggers fail knowledge of the Constitution:

    Article 4, Section 1

Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.

    • It’s really a bizarre bill. It’s supposedly about citizenship but a record of baptism or circumcision does nothing to prove citizenship. It’s like they want someone to prove they were once a child.

I kinda hope Arizona (heretofore referred to a Tbagland) doesnt allow Obama’s name on the ballot. really really really remind everyone what the alternative is. He wouldn’t win that state anyway….
hell, maybe if the Tparty has it’s own candidate when the GOP establishment grows a pair and nominates Romney, the Baggers might win one….. they way THEY think, that person will be seen as the president of Tbagland

I got my license renewed yesterday and my puny, short formed birth certificate was good enough.

Love how religious certificates are good enough. Guess you can’t argue with the word of god. Also, all of the baptisms I’ve attended weren’t held immediately after the birth – most were held 4 – 6 weeks after the baby was born. Plenty of time to give birth in Kenya and then fly into the states.

  6. Delaware Dem says:

This Arizona law will be held unconstitutional, for multiple reasons, but not the least of which is that it disqualifies natural born citizens, including President Obama and Mitt Romney, from running for President. The strigent requirements imposed by this bill are not followed in all states. Indeed, the majority of government birth certificates do not contain what Arizona says they must contain. Therefore, it will be strick down.

  7. Delaware Dem says:

Ben, Obama could win Arizona this time around. With McCain on the ballot in 2008, it was relatively close. Now with SB1070 and the Giffords tragedy, Obama will be competitive.

    They want proof of Judeo-Christianity.

A quick scan of checkbook.delaware.gov for FY2009 shows about $30K to payees with “Arizona” in their name, including about $10K directly to the State Of Arizona.

Some of that batshit belongs to you!

    I guess I can’t be President unless I submit to a post-third trimester circumcision.

The guy in high-school we envied had it done at age 16 because he grew out of it. I always wondered if he ever made any money in porn films.

  16. anon says:

If GOP primary voters are demanding a circumcision, their presidential candidates will do it themselves on live TV with a rusty knife.

  17. skippertee says:

Now THAT is MUST-SEE TV !
Haley Barbour would have to look into a mirror.
    Same with Newtie.
Romney looks like the feinting type.
Pawlenty would probably drop out from embaressment due to his shortcomings.
