Markell & Democrats Propose New Gun Control Laws

In many places across this country, Republicans are dismantling gun control legislation so that more criminals and terrorists, as well as the mentally ill, can have unlimited and unrestrained access to as many weapons they can buy, so that they can kill as many people as they want. But not in Delaware.

This Week’s Sign of the Apocalypse

Supporting the Constitution

it is not hard to see which party is more for the Constitution and which is more against it. 26 Republicans out of 242 in the House voted for the Constitution, or in percentage terms, 11%. 89% of the Republican Party have just told you their constitution posturing was just that… posturing. Meanwhile, 65% of the Democrats voted for protecting civil liberties.

Holy Bleep! The Two Stephens, Sondheim & Colbert, Together At Last!

How cool is this? My all-time favorite composer, Stephen Sondheim, is gonna have a NYC revival of his groundbreaking musical, Company, featuring Neil Patrick Harris, Patti LuPone and…Stephen Colbert!
“Company” was the first Broadway show I ever saw on Broadway, in 1972. I was just blown away and have been a lifelong Sondheim fan ever since.
Colbert [...]

Bring It.

Before she sleeps in a cot in a federal prison for the next decade, Christine O’Donnell proposes to investigate me and my colleagues at Delaware Liberal and other groups that she believes are “funded with one million dollars or more from billionaire leftist George Soros.” Unlike Ms. O’Donnell, I and my colleagues have not received untold millions from ideological benefactors.

The Markell Budget: Comfort the Comfortable, Afflict the Afflicted

As the Joint Finance Committee peels back more layers of this rancid budgetary onion, we see the priorities of this administration, and what we see is an ostensibly progressive administration time and time again comforting the comfortable and afflicting the afflicted.

How the World Sees Us

…at least via our right wingnut crazies.

This hit my mailbox ALOT over the past few days, and I cringed every time I saw it: Middle East unrest according to Glenn Beck and friends. The Guardian rounds up a the crazy, the stupid and the dangerous of the Wingnut-o-Sphere, and you should go over there to see it all.
