Republicans are Funny

From time to time you just have to point and laugh…

On Real Time with Bill Maher, Representative Jack Kingston (R-GA) apparently wants to see some kind of manfishnewt before he will accept evolution (For Southpark fans, that would be half-man, half-fish, and half-newt). Which, if ever found, would utterly destroy our understanding of human evolution along with a giant chunk of vertebrate biology.

In addition to having an aggressive ignorance when it comes to vertebrate biology, Kingston also seems bewildered by fractions.

Kingston also demands a missing link. By which we can again loosely infer he means fossils demonstrating a mix of early and more modern hominid traits. As long as it’s not A. ramidus, A. afarensis, H. ergaster, or any of the dozens of fossils on exhibit in museums all over the world, all showing the exact set of anatomical traits and found in the precise place in the fossil record demonstrating a clear progression toward anatomically modern humans over almost ten million years.

I’m really tired of the stupidity. I watched the video earlier – When asked about antibiotics (in regards to evolution) Kingston doesn’t even understand the question.

He should be cringing in shame, but to these science deniers ignorance is to be wallowed in.

Anyone who cites Bill (I hate everyone in the world) Maher as a reference to anything important in our society is a dolt.

    Pandora,

I’m old enough to remember these clowns would be ashamed of their stupidity. Now they view it as a virtue.

  4. Given his ignorance, did Boehner make this guy the head of the science committee.

Its like those who argue against data with unsupported statements of “The numbers must be wrong.”
