Tucker Carlson Wishes For Vick’s Execution

Filed in National by on December 29, 2010

Tucker Carlson said last night:

“I think, personally, he [Vick] should have been executed for that.”

Sorry, the video’s kind of shitty, but then so is Carlson.

  1. I think cruelty to animals is contemptible but damn, that’s nucking futs.

  2. nemski says:

From Kris Broughton summing up the issue quite nicely.

I had put the notion of wrestling with redemption and Michael Vick on the back burner after the holidays curtailed much of my heavy duty thinking time. Then President Obama, of all people, weighed in on Vick’s felony conviction and his remarkable reentry into society with the help of the Philadelphia Eagles, and all hell broke loose. I don’t think the president was particularly courageous for stating the obvious. But in a society where too many African American men are denied reentry into the workforce because of their criminal history, it is as legitimate a concern for the White House to be behind as the idea of better college readiness by high school students, no matter who is sitting in the Oval Office.

I have a big problem with Vick. But I have a bigger problem with the people and organizations who are letting him throw money at the problem.

He did prision, fine, good thing it was a federal charge since they put people in prison.

But allowing him back in the NFL????? The Eagles are cheap and love to exploit good players they can get cheap, it is a philly tradition. Get one player that will draw the fans, hopefully on the cheap, and then pay the rest of the team the league minimum pay.

If they can ban Pete Rose, one of the true greats in baseball history, who never hurt a fly, then the NFL can ban a low life like Vick forever.

It is a shame that PETA soldout for money as well.

  4. MM says:

What do you expect Paratrooper? The guy did his years in jail, paid the millions for the rehabilitation and treatment for the dogs, went bankrupt and has spent thousands of hours of his own free will trying to reach young kids and teach them how horrible and wrong animal abuse is. What more do you want???? Now you want to take away the mans livelihood? What happened to redemption and second chances? Also what the MLB did with Pete Rose has absolutely ZERO to do with the NFL so the two have nothing to do with each other.

You then LIE about the pay of the rest of the Eagles. How did PETA sell out exactly? From what I understand, PETA has nothing to do with Michael Vick. You are full of misinformation. If it was up to you, any person who has went to prison should be banned from making a living.

  5. V says:

just an example of R’s being against something if Obama faintly praises it.

I think what Vick did was terrible, and I’m not a big enough Eagles fan to let his performance overshadow what he did (although he has been playing for his life lately). BUT it is true one of the contributing factors to criminal recidivism is the stigma attached by employers to having a record, even if you did your time and are considered “reformed”. This obviously isn’t a normal circumstance, but Obama was right to point out the lesson in second chances.

  6. Clear Thinker says:

When Vick’s skills decline, i hope the Eagles do not cut or trade him.

They can choose to hang him, drown him, or electrocute him — just like Vick and his fellow dogfighters d to the poor abused animals they torture and kill.

  7. MJ says:

So much for Christian fellowship and forgiveness of sins from the right-wing.

  8. nemski says:

MJ you know what CT means by “fellow dogfighters” right?

  9. MJ says:

    ‘splain it to me.

  10. Clear Thinker says:

While you are at it, explain it to me.

When I used the phrase “fellow dogfighters” I meant “low-life scum who abuse and torture canines for the purpose of making the mistreated animals fight for their own entertainment”.

If you took that to mean anything else, it is clearly indicative of your own pathologically warped view of the world.

  11. Republican David says:

It is past. Mike Tyson got less grief for returning after rape than Vick got for dogs. Dogs should not be mistreated, but the guy got more time than many child rapists. Let’s get some perspective. He did not hurt anyone. People do wrong, but that is only one moment in time. Unless they are executed, they will keep living. We may as well help them make the rest of their lives productive instead of sending them back to crime. The man wants to do good, let him.

I don’t think because someone once did something evil, the taxpayers should pay for them forever. He served his well deserved time. I don’t admire him. He is no hero. He is still a human being. Drop it.

President Obama showed some courage on this one. I tip my hat to him. He didn’t focus group or triangulate. He spoke from his heart and mind.

BTW, Pete Rose needs to be in the Hall of Fame.

  12. Geezer says:

Re: Tucker Carlson. Is this what he’s reduced to in his vain attempt to stay in the punditry game? Isn’t it time someone flushed the toilet on that turd?

“BTW, Pete Rose needs to be in the Hall of Fame.”

I despise Pete Rose — I never took much satisfaction in the 1980 WS because he was on the team — but I agree.
