El Somnambulo Predicts ‘Em All For You*

*Well, almost all. I have no clue about most down-ballot county-wide races in Kent or Sussex, so I’ll stay away.
Still, there should be more than enough controversy to allow you to chew on my not-insubstantial hide and spit it out.
U. S. Senate: Coons 62-38. Maybe big enough for a coattail effect. Don’t worry, Christine O’Donnell [...]

Tea Party Founder: The Tea Party is a Joke.

Karl Denninger is a financial blogger who founded the group FedUpUSA in early 2008, and is recognized as one of the original “founders” of the Teabagger movement. But he now he says what we have all said long ago, that whatever geniune small government libertarian protest that existed at the beginning of the movement have long been coopted by the very Republican Party Denninger and others were protesting, and now the movement is only the radical social conservative bigoted base of the Republican base with a new name.

This is My Favorite Political Candidate this Year

Jimmy McMillan of the Rent is Too Damn High Party is running for Governor in New York. I wish we had a candidate like him in Delaware.
Maybe we can convince someone to start a Delaware chapter of this party. Because we all know, the rent is too damn high!

Your WTF? Moment

This O’Donnell race has been full of WFT? moments. Even so, this video stands out for its oddness.
It is feaky.

Wednesday’s Asshat of the Day

Drunk dialing. It’s what someone does when they’ve had one too many. Most of us have done it at one time in our lives, most likely when we were in college.
But in a exercise of extreme chutzpah, Virginia Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, decided to call Anita Hill after 19 [...]

Sierra Club Endorses Melrath; Christine Embraces Cole

And now, for a change of pace, we have some breaking news out of one of the Sussex County Council races. In the 4th District, which surrounds the Indian River and Rehoboth Bays, Democrat Russ Melrath, who is challenging decades long incumbent George Cole (R), has been endorsed by the Delaware Chapter of the Sierra Club. Given the locale of the district, where environmental issues and over-development are top concerns, this endorsement is important. Meanwhile, George Cole got the endorsement of infamous constitutional expert Christine “really, is that what the First Amendment says?” O’Donnell.

The Real Enthusiam Gap

Although I am loathe to link to Politico, they got their hands on some hilariously desperate emails from the George Washington University chapter of the College Republicans:
We are still DESPERATELY looking for people to sign up for the campaign trip to Delaware this weekend. Please attend! Our candidates in Delaware desperately need help! A gift [...]

Being a Teapublican necessarily means you are stupid.

In Jon Runyan’s debate last night with freshman Rep. John Adler (D-NJ), he was asked for “an example from the last 10 or 15 years of a Supreme Court decision in which you strongly disagree?” Runyan’s response?

Dred Scott.

Decided in 1857.

Random Political Musings-Oct. 20, 2010

*The quality of the Coons campaign  is so much better than the Carney campaign that it’s shocking. On both sides.  I never dreamed that Coons could run this kind of a grassroots effort. It is reflected in the number of signs, signs on peoples’ lawns, the activity of the candidate and the campaign, the mobilization [...]

Tornoe’s Toon: Christine O’Donnell and Evolution

Another Reason To Vote

As the mother of a teenager daughter I’m always keeping my eye on family planning issues, so Colorado’s Amendment 62 caught my attention.
Personhood Colorado’s website acknowledges that Amendment 62 would ban all abortions, without exceptions for rape, incest or to save a mother’s life. It also would ban stem cell research and birth control other [...]

O’Donnell’s Other Gaffe

O’Donnell’s 1st amendment gaffe took attention away from another gaffe by O’Donnell – her assertion that “evolution is a theory not a fact” and that local schools could decide to teach intelligent design creationism instead.

Other Stuff Christine O’Donnell Recently Learned

“You’re telling me the earth is more than 10,000 years old?”
“You’re telling me “Red Dawn” was a work of fiction?”
“You’re telling me they recorded that crappy Bill Maher show?”
“You’re telling me people from Delaware are allowed to contribute to my campaign?”
“You’re telling me Delaware voters aren’t as stupid as [...]
