You know what will make people forget about running an illegal dog fighting ring where you abused, tortured and executed under-performing dogs? Winning football games!

Michael Vick Philadelphia Eagles

What about Ron Mexico’s other transgressions, which include settling a lawsuit by a former girlfriend who said he knowingly gave her herpes, allegations of steroid use, association with drug traffickers and a shooting outside a nightclub earlier this year at his 30th birthday party?

Simple – Vick’s quarterback rating this year is 110.2, he’s thrown six touchdowns an no interceptions and he’s lead the Eagles to two straight wins. He’s obviously paid his dues.

While everyone is busily rehabilitating Vick, there have been people involved trying to rehabilitate the dogs he abused so horrifically. Here is a story from NPR on the progress of the dogs and a new book that discusses their rescue. Two of these dogs, I think, have been trained as certified therapy dogs.

Herm Edwards and Tony Dungy say that he’s been rehabilitated. So who am I to argue with those guys? Now we need Dungy to lay hands on Vick’s ribs.
