Thursday Open Thread

Welcome to your Thursday open thread. I guess our summer drought is over – rain, rain, rain! I’ll have to start mowing the lawn again.

GOP candidate for California Meg Whitman has a nanny problem. She employed an undocumented woman for 9 years as a nanny.

A former housekeeper for Meg Whitman, the Republican candidate for governor of California, alleged in a press conference with a high-profile lawyer that she was subject to financial and emotional abuse for the nine years she was employed.

Both sides agree that Whitman fired her housekeeper last June because she was an illegal immigrant, just a few months after Whitman’s campaign for governor got underway.

The housekeeper said in a press conference Wednesday that she explained the situation to Whitman because she wanted to become a legal U.S. resident.

“We have no jobs, no food, no place to live, and for that reason we made a decision to come here,” the housekeeper said she told Whitman. “I told her that I don’t have papers to work here, and we need her help.”

The California governor’s race has been pretty close and Whitman has held a small lead all summer. She still has a fortune she can drop on the race (she’s spent $120M already) but this can’t help her chances.

We’ve talked about New York GOP gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino before. He’s sent disgusting emails to a list of government officials and proposed that welfare recipients be put in prison to learn hygiene. The latest nastiness is that Paladino is accusing Andrew Cuomo, despite the fact that Paladino has a 10-year-old daughter by a woman who is not his wife.

Politico reports that Paladino, who has a 10-year-old daughter with a woman who is not his wife, said yesterday: “My daughter is off limits.”

He added that she’s “an innocent” and the affair is definitely over: “That was ten years ago. What do you think this is, Peyton Place on television? For Christ sake!”

But that didn’t stop him from making out Cuomo’s personal life to be, well, “Peyton Place on television.”

“Has anybody asked Andrew Cuomo about his paramours?” Paladino asked, adding: “When he was married. Or asked him why his wife left him or threw him out of the house? Has anybody ever done that?”

Paladino is an ass, in case that wasn’t obvious before.

and last night – at the candidates forum in Lewes, Mr. Towers from Towers Electric let it be known that HIS cure for illegal immigration is “shoot them as they cross the border” – another Tea Bag thug

then was offensive and threatneing to a member of the Latino community that was there.

The UN just issued it’s investigation of the execution-style murder of US citizen Furkan Dogan by Israeli “Defense” Force.

The report details incontrovertible evidence proving Dogan was shot in the face at point blank range while lying on the ground on his back.

    But MSM says nothing,

Obomba regime says nothing ….. and does nothing .

Because according to your government, when the IDF comes for you. You are nothing.

But we can have the Pakistanis turn their country upside down and find the killers of Daniel Pearl but readily identifiable murderers in the IDF live free to kill again.

  4. anonone says:

The police state of America is not going to criticize the police state of Israel. Obomba commands his own army of secret citizen assassins; so how could he criticize Israel?

America has no moral authority any more when it comes to human rights. None.

what would be news is if COD actually had done something truthfull, morally and legally and fiscally responsible

now THAT would be news – the scandals are just old at this point and the shine worn off them

Find us aomething , anything she did that was good and altruistic, and helped others?? ONE THING

its like looking for one good man in Sodom and Ghamora before God destroyed them – not gonna happen

Meanwhile America’s owners in cahoots with the “justice” system are literally stealing people’s homes under the guise of foreclosures:

Think a little guy with no money and no lawyer has a chance?

Ah Meg Whitman…..has a “Zoe Baird” problem. Seems like we really are all alike in some matters. Another tempest in a teapot. Don’t worry Meg–Zoe landed on her feet.

I just got a phone poll that is leaving me scratching my head. It was a pretty normal poll, up to a point… Are you a likely voter? (yes). Will you vote for Coons or COD? (Coons). Will you vote for Urquhart, or Rollins?

    Urquhart or Rollins?

    WTF???

The damned thing is, after I heard the name “Rollins” I am pretty sure I pushed “1” for Urquhart. I was cooking dinner, and the kids were making a bunch of noise, and

I’m an Urquhart supporter now, so…

    SUCK ON IT, YOU NAZIS!!!

This has got to be the sleaziest push poll ever. Carney was not named in the poll. Watch for Urquhart to announce his surge. Or maybe he will just release the results to fundraising community, which is not used to questioning “good news.”

The poll said it was from “DNC Services… Not affiliated with any candidate or campaign” – yet another way to lay the trap.

The message gave a 202 number which I did not manage to write down, but *69 gave me a 302 number.

  10. MJ says:

    post the number, anon.

  11. anon says:

It is a 302-504-xxxx number. Probably some wingnut cell phone. I don’t think I want to go there.

The poll did go on with a lot of normal questions about whether you approve of Obama (that was a tough one), whether you voted for Obama or McCain, etc.

    Obama voters for Urkel!!!

It was kind of like when they move the premium 93 octane gas pump over to the left so you pick it up without checking.
