Tuesday’s Asshat of the Day

It would be too, too easy to give this to Sen. Jim “I am the King of the Senate” DeMint for his unilateral decision to halt all work in the Senate unless the bills meet his smell test.

But I decided to go with Sharon Angle, the Mad Aunt of our very own O’Whack-a-Mole. Did you know that Angle and her husband receive Federal health insurance? I bet you didn’t.

Apparently, her husband is a retired Federal employee, who receives an annuity for his work and was able to continue his health benefits and life insurance into retirement. Nothing wrong there, he earned it (at least let’s hope he did). But Angle is against government sponsored health care and has vowed to repeal “Obamacare.” According to Huffington Post, she has even claimed that there is nothing wrong with our health care system. I guess she should tell that to the millions in Nevada that use the ER as their primary care physician since they don’t have any other coverage.

Angle is typical of the teabaggers – do as I say, not as I do. And because of this, she’s our Asshat of the Day for Tuesday.

NOTE: Her spokesman doesn’t know the first thing about the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS), for if he did, he would know that it works nothing like Social Security. And the reason her husband doesn’t receive Social Security benefits is because he didn’t pay into SSA while he was a Federal employee under CSRS.
