Any Idea Why This Is Important?

Yesterday failed GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill Lee endorsed Mike Castle for Senate. He sent a letter to the Delaware GOP which was released to the news media. Is anyone actually suprised by this endorsement?

From the letter:

I have been a conservative all my life. Like Ronald Reagan, I was a conservative long before it was the popular way to be. I believe Mike Castle is the best candidate to represent Delaware in the U.S. Senate.

His opponent in this primary is delusional, insisting that she carried two counties against Joe Biden in 2008. She has lost touch with reality. It is crucial that conservative Republicans focus on the reality of winning in November.

Some groups outside Delaware, trying to promote their own agendas, are supporting Christine O’Donnell. They have stated that they would rather elect a Democrat than Mike Castle. Are they CRAZY?
I say to them, get out of here! We in Delaware don’t need outsiders telling us what to think.

So let’s pull together and prepare for the battle that will really determine our future and our nation’s, the one in November.

So, the gubernatorial candidate who literally phoned it in endorsed the candidate who hasn’t really campaigned in at least a decade. YAWN. So, why was this all over the media yesterday? The NJ talked about it, the Delaware GOP tweeted it, other GOP operatives tweeted it and Mike Castle tweeted it. I also heard this story on the local NPR coverage this morning.

I guess I’m continually amazed at the hold that Castle has on the local media. The media is lovinginly repeating the attacks on O’Donnell – delusional & crazy.
