Wednesday’s Asshat of the Day

The decision on who should get today’s award was a tough one. Should it go to Anon, for all of his/her silly comments on the thread regarding VJP’s questionable endorsements? Too easy (although he/she is worthy). Should it go to Mike Castle for his “I balanced the budget for 8 years as Governor” commercial? Again, too easy (note: Mike, you had no choice – the budget HAS to be balanced each year, so your fiscal responsibility claim is a FAIL).

But I found someone even more worthy of today’s award – Rachel Brown, a Lyndon LaRouche acolyte who is challenging Rep. Barney Frank in next week’s primary. Frank, you may remember, compared arguing with Brown to having a discussion with a dining room table at a town hall event last year. In a debate last night, Frank smacked-down Brown for comparing President Obama to Hitler. I also find the comparison distasteful. Seems that this comparison has appeared a lot lately, especially since Election Day 2008.

If you’ve paid a visit to any major city in the last year or so, you’d notice the LaRouchians are usually out with huge posters showing Obama with a Hitler mustache. I accidentally fell into one and tore it when I was in DC a couple of months ago (damn uneven DC sidewalks). LaRouchians are batshit crazy, sort of like the teabaggers, but they’ve been around a lot longer.

Brown also wants to colonize Mars. She believes this will help solve the economic problems we are having. Wonder if she wears a purple robe and Nike’s when she’s not out in public, waiting for a spaceship to take her there?

Rachel Brown (and all of the LaRouche followers) – Wednesday’s Asshat of the Day.

Note that there will not be an awardee tomorrow – I’m taking the day off for Rosh Hashonah.
