More Terrorizing Of Muslims

Looks like this is the path we’re on…

NEW YORK — In the latest in a spate of anti-Muslim incidents over the last two days, an intoxicated man entered a mosque in Queens on Wednesday evening and proceeded to urinate on prayer rugs, New York police officials said.

The man, identified as Omar Rivera, reportedly shouted anti-Muslim epithets and called worshippers who had gathered for evening prayer “terrorists.” One witness told the New York Post the man was “very clearly intoxicated” and had a beer bottle in his hand at the time.

“He stuck up his middle finger and cursed at everyone,” Mustapha Sadouki, who was at the mosque at the time, said. “He calls us terrorists, yet he comes into our mosque and terrorizes other people.”

We, as a country, have lost our minds.

  1. And we’re going to give the Republicans more power? Depressing.

The incitement to these incidents is being funded by America’s corporations, advertising on FOX and wingnut radio. And by you and me, of course, if we continue to buy their products.

I listened to some afternoon AM radio in the car the other day, for the first time in years… Jesus H. Christ on an abortion bike!!! – what is WRONG with these people?

and of course, if you call these people out for inciting this hate, they call you a race-baiting socialist. then they publish your home address and tell their horde you are killing America and “must be stopped”
I was pondering if this wave of fear and hate could ever elevate the Bags like it did the Nazis in 1930s. Not so much “THEY ARE JSUT LIKE THE NAZIS” but more like “could it happen here”? they have charismatic leaders who believe in what they say, they are fueled by xenophobia and hatred of people who look and pray differently than them, they live in a bad economy and are looking for anyone to blame other than themselves.. oh and they mask it all with “nationalist pride” and “love of country”
Viewed like that, the Teaparty…. and Conservatism in general is something to be concerned about.
Then I read articles like this one, or watch Sarah Palin supporters on parade and I realize that this group of people are far too stupid to pull it off. However, there is no doubt in my mind that their movement is trending more and more toward violence.
I do believe that if they held off on violence until they gained power, they might pose a real threat to the nation and to all of us who don’t worship “homo-hating white Jesus”. But i don’t think these blood thirsty savages can wait for their revolution much longer. i think something big, and tragic, and game changing is coming. I also think it will be so unacceptable to all but the most hard-core hate filled Baggers, that Glenn and Sarah’s 4th Reich will crumble.

A.price – I am assuming, based on reading your posts, a well-educated person. therefore, I will refer to Plato’s republic and the different stages of a civilization (so to speak)

Aristocracy – the rule of kings – think King George at our beginning
Timocracy – the rule of the armed (weapons) – think cowboys and Manifest Destiny
Oligarchy- the rule of the merchant – where we have been been – the industrial age
Democracy – the rule of the mob – which Beck and Palin and the Kochs are trying to achieve now to their own ends
Anarchy – we all fall down

based on the logical conclusion of Plato’s theroies – Palin and Beck are simply setting the stage for their own destuction too – and don;t even see it – I think they don’t care really – the question is – how many of us will they take with them and more importantly…………

    HOW DO WE STOP THEM??

and yes – I cannot type for diddly – but I did spend alot of time reading….

or they deny their obvious acts of hate are… hate. Follow that pingback.
They acknowledge these event are happening. And even that the terrorists (islamophobes) are wrong for doing what they did. But deny they are IN ANY WAY linked to the rampant Islamophobia.
That reaction is almost as frightening as the acts of Right WIng extremism because it shows American’s willingness to turn a blind eye to a potentially genocidal movement.

  9. I love the naivete displayed on the right – heated rhetoric about Muslims as the enemy has absolutely nothing to do with attacks on Muslims.

Amazing how much money is made through hate. Beacoup dinero bringing the fearo. So why am I broke? My loathing of these insurgents waving the bill of rights about runs so deep I fart toxic fumes ( according to mrs.c).

It appears as if you may be getting your burqas in a wad over contrived bigotry:

“The mosque released a statement Thursday refuting claims Rivera shouted anti-Muslim slurs.
They said they believe the incident was an unintentional act of intoxication and wasn’t directed against the mosque or Muslim community. In addition, they claimed Rivera was not charged with criminal trespass and was instead charged with pubic urination.”
