Memory Lane

It was a younger, more innocent time. Remember when Crazy Eileen was crazy instead of the base & energy of the Republican Party?

The first meeting where we really got to see the birthers and the teabaggers take over was June 30, 2009 (sorry, we missed the anniversary). Jason first posted the video on DL on July 18. A few days later, Crazy Eileen went viral.

It was interesting wading through the archives to find this post. There were quite a few posts by various authors about how Republicans were becoming the Crazy Eileen party and how this would hurt them in the long run. I’m not sure what the outcome of the midterms is going to be yet but the extremism of some of the Republican candidates means Republicans will lose some seats that they would have won (like Nevada). We also speculated whether Mike Castle would be the victim of a wingnut uprising. The O’Donnell fans are making a lot of noise right now but whether that’s more than noise is still an open question right now.

Sadly, O’Donnell turned out to be the most defective possible tbag to challenge Castle. Who knows what would have happened if our tbagz had put up someone even slightly less crooked. A Mike Protack, for example.

If, for example, Glenn Urghardt had challenged Castle instead of O’Donnell. I think Glenn would have won. We already know he will win over Rollins.

That little display at the end reminds me of something:

Who’s the leader of the club
That’s made for you and me
    M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E
Hey! there, Hi! there, Ho! there
You’re as welcome as can be
    M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E
    Mickey Mouse!
    Mickey Mouse!
Forever let us hold our banner
    High! High! High! High!
Come along and sing a song
    And join the jamboree!

  4. I don’t think Urquhart could have beaten Castle. Is he catching on with the national conservatives? I definitely think Urquhart is a better campaigner than O’Donnell since he has actual money and is probably smarter than O’Donnell. Will he beat Rollins? I’d be surprised but it’s certainly possible. Urquhart needs O’Donnell, I think, to beat Rollins. He has to get the conservatives out to vote and I’m not sure he could do it alone.

O’Donnell has some name recognition and a little bit of a media platform. I guess she’s more like Rand Paul than Sharron Angle (who actually served in the state legislature) with no actual experience but without the brand name and instant fundraising ability.

National tbagz hate Castle and are spoiling for a fight. That fact that they are pretending O’Donnell is a real candidate gives you a sense of their desperation.

The tbagz nation would have loved Urquhart.

I was ready for someone to throw out the first pitch after they recited the Pledge. Whatever happend to Crazy Eileen?

  7. Joe Cass says:

Crazy Eileen is busy campaigning for her new beau in Tennessee. His name is Basil and he’s a patriot:
