What Have We Become?

Filed in National by on May 27, 2010 13 Comments

Is this what we have become? The video at the link is very disturbing. It shows abject violence to dairy cows and calves. It made me sick to my stomach. In this day and age, I cannot fathom that there are people who could do this to a helpless animal. But yet, I know it […]

Carney Demands Cancellation of All East Coast Drilling

Filed in National by on May 27, 2010 3 Comments

“While I support the suspension, we cannot rest until the plan to drill off of Delaware and the rest of the East Coast is abandoned completely, and the preservation of Delaware’s precious environment and our state’s economy that depends on it, is assured.”

They Plugged that Damn Hole.

Filed in National by on May 27, 2010 16 Comments

It should not have taken this long. It led to frustration (rightly so). It made us wonder if President Obama should have become the socialist he is always wrongfully accused of being, and nationalized BP of North America and seized their assets so as to take over the operation. But the accusations of incompetence and ineptedness coming from the right and left don’t seem to be true from reading first hand accounts of what actually went into plugging the damn hole

Sister Margaret

Filed in National by on May 27, 2010 31 Comments

Sister Margaret was a senior administrator of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix. A 27-year-old mother of four arrived late last year, in her third month of pregnancy. According to local news reports and accounts from the hospital and some of its staff members, the mother suffered from a serious complication called pulmonary hypertension. That created a high probability that the strain of continuing pregnancy would kill her. “In this tragic case, the treatment necessary to save the mother’s life required the termination of an 11-week pregnancy,” the hospital said in a statement.

Guess what happened to Sister Margaret.

Morning Round Em Up

Good Morning Delaware Liberals! You can mislead voters about your service in Vietnam and still win an election apparently, so long as your opponent is a whackjob drugged out wrestling executive. User fees for driver education? David Anderson makes sense? The Phillies losers of 4 straight? I am going to need some Irish in my coffee today.

Worlds Collide….

Nothing lights up our tip line like Insurance Commissioner Karen Weldin Stewart. Some of the tips cannot be substantiated, others seem outlandish, even for this commissioner’s office. A recent one says they themselves may have to contact the authorities to alert them of the rampant alleged fraud that is going on in her office, to which I say, great, please do so, for if the corruption is so rampant, and if you have evidence of it, then what are you waiting for. This is not to say that we aren’t keeping an eye on KWS. We have covered the allegations against the on the Insurance Commissioner going all the way back to May of 2009. So it was with interest that I saw that an ethics complaint had been filed against her. But then I find out who filed it.

Republican Short-Sightedness

Filed in National by on May 26, 2010 9 Comments

This was obvious to everyone but the GOP. Today, a new NBC/MSNBC/Telemundo poll shows a similar trend at the national level, where “Latinos, once a semi-swing group of voters, now have swung overwhelmingly for President Obama and the Democratic Party, and younger Hispanics are moving to the Democrats in even greater numbers.” For example, 68% […]

President Reagan Too Busy to Honor Tradition

President George H.W. Bush Too Busy to Honor Tradition. President George W. Bush Too Busy to Honor Tradition. All of the above statements are headlines that Frank Knotts of Delaware Politics could have used in his latest screed, because they are as equally true as the headline he chose to use. Frank is upset that […]

The Magical 1,000

Filed in National by on May 26, 2010 4 Comments

One thousand new hires seems to be the new mantra of the Markell Administration in response the laying off of over 200 teachers in Delaware. Who can argue about the hiring of 1,000 new teachers? As a matter of fact, Delaware Dem even promotes the 1,000 new hires as an offset to the layoffs. But is it really an offset?

President Obama’s American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, otherwise known as the Stimulus by normal intelligent people, and as TAX HIKES AND SOCIALISM!!!! (even though it contained the largest tax cut in all human history) by people who can’t put together a correctly spelled sentence if their life depended on it (otherwise known as the Teabaggers), is now proved to be a smashing succcess.
