Filed in National by on April 29, 2010

Last call!  Be there, or be square.

UPDATED:  Here’s your reminder!

Spring is here, and Geek and I finally got our act together and planned a Drinking Liberally!

Please join us next Thursday, April 29th at the Iron Hill Brewery on the Wilmington Riverfront.  We will be meeting on the second floor at 7:00p.m., and if the weather is nice enough will venture out onto the deck.

Can’t wait to see everyone!

  1. Reis says:

That’s just great. Except its not the beach.

  2. pandora says:

Never fear, Reis. We’ll be scheduling some Drinking Liberally events at the beach soon.

  3. Jason330 says:

    See you after little league.

  4. a.price says:

It’s about time 🙂 I feel like there hasnt been one of these in months. see ya’ll there.

  5. Dorian Gray says:

    I might even turn up.

  6. pandora says:

We’d love to have you Dorian!

  7. Scott P says:

There’s a good possibility I might be there, along with my wife and daughter. Pandora and LG, can you see to it that it’s a nice day so we can walk around by the riverfront first? Thanks.

  8. cassandra m says:

Scott, the Children’s Museum is open there if you want to come down a little early to check it out.

  9. I’m not sure who here at Delaware Liberal is in charge of the weather. Delaware Dem?

  10. Scott P says:

Thanks for the reminder Cassandra. I just looked, and they’re opening this weekend. It’s only open till 4:30, so no good for us on a weekday. I think we’ll give it a few weeks and check it out on a weekend. And since, if I’m not mistaken, it’s in the old Kahunaville building, I’d better not tell my little angel about some of the adventures Daddy had there in his younger days. 🙂

  11. Von Cracker says:

Maybe Dorian will be my date.

    80/20 I’ll be there.

  12. skippertee says:

I’m socially awkward, have halitosis and suffer from bouts of unintended but frequent emissions of gas.Would I still be welcome to come?

  13. Just make sure you sit downwind.

  14. a.price says:

I’ve been to a few of these skip. Not only will you be welcome, but you’d be considered a sophisticate. 🙂

  15. donviti says:

I plan on bringing my obamacare poster

  16. Joanne Christian says:

Don’t bother DV–just bring your papers–we can’t let Arizona be first.

  17. anonone says:

I’d go but cassandra_m might kill me. 😉

  18. cassandra_m says:

    You’ll be safe, A1 — I won’t be there this time.

  19. a.price says:

aww dang! we coulda’ had a final showdown.

  20. Delaware Dem says:

Cass, I am in charge of the weather since, of course, I am God-like in my powers, and thus have provided you a warm and sunny day. No thanks needed.

  21. Minner crony says:

How late are you going to be there? I have a class in Wilmington until 9 ———

  22. We’ll probably still be there at 9, Minner crony.

  23. Minner crony says:

OK, I’ll press my overalls and brush my tooth.

  24. pandora says:

Agreed, UI. We should still be there. I’m hoping to make up a table sign and plan on wearing my DL button… so we should be easy to find.

  25. Hmmm….I may have to stop by…sounds like fun.

  26. pandora says:

    It’s always fun, Mike!

  27. Scott P says:

How late are you going to be there? I have a class in Wilmington until 9 ———

Yeah, just come later when you have no class.

  28. jason330 says:

My favorite part? I liked talking with all the smarty pantses (sp?) about multi-dimensional mindfuck that Obama is pulling on the Republicans right now. Bottom Line: “Democrats lose far fewer seats in mid-terms than expected.” You heard it here first.

  29. pandora says:

I wanted to thank everyone who came out last night. We had a really great turn-out and a really fun night. I enjoyed meeting new people and seeing familiar faces.

We really should do this every month.

    Thanks for a great evening!

  30. Minner crony’s tooth was quite spectacular and clean.

  31. And she gave us the lowdown on the Minner Years. The tooth, the whole tooth, and nothing but the tooth.

  32. Scott P says:

Thanks again to everyone who came out — it was a very fun evening. And for the record, we cut our daughter off after two chocolate milks. I mean come on, you gotta know when to say when.

  33. liberalgeek says:

True, since she had to drive.

  34. Scott P says:

No, no. We came by car, not by monkeyball.

  35. Joanne Christian says:

It’s been a long time since seeing some of you–as I shamelessly dropped in last night. It was a real treat to meet Minner Crony, right before they had to jump the last Perdue truck barrelling back to Sussex. That is some mighty fine hearty stock from that era, um area.

El Som looks so refreshed! Carpe diem(s) must agree with him, as he recovers handily.
DelDem was there, and then he wasn’t. And a very appropriate, respectful recap of immigration law in his/my eyes I might add….is there hope?
    Scott P.–wow Lyceum–and a beautiful family too–
Jason, Geek–were you guys the bouncers? Is that why DelDem had to leave? And Donviti missing? (I’m kidding) But I missed you DV!!!!!!!!
UI and Radical–always a pleasure–those still waters run deep, so glad they run out on the blog.
The lovely Pandora–your Ironman just might be the woman!! And to think you know Scott Spence–why I would never have recognized him.
And to anybody else out there “anon”. “anonone”, anontwo”, or whoever else–good to see you, if I saw you. A quick night out–thanks Pandora and Geek for findin’ a few tables together.

  36. Minner crony says:

It was fun (and a little shocking) to put the faces with the handles. I am sure I shocked you all with my full set of teeth. If I gave the lowdown on the Minner Years after only two beers, I don’t remember – it usually takes three beers to get me to spill.

I can’t always abide the level of vitriol, and I often fall off the liberal orthodoxy bandwagon, but you all perform a true public service.

  37. Good to see you there Joanne. I enjoyed talking to your hubby.

I imagine Minner crony was expecting fangs – we hide those when we’re in public.

  38. reis says:

The beach weather was awesome. Wish there was someone else there to enjoy it with me.

  39. Bad breath or halitosis can be easily elimated by using mouthwash with hexetidine or triclosan.”:~
