Delaware Teabonics

Filed in National by on April 16, 2010

A special correspondent sends us some pictures from yesterday’s Tea Party tantrum patriotic dissent in Sussex.

This is my personal favorite:

A dicator is destroying our country!

Spelling is a leading [in]dicator of morans.

  2. cassandra m says:

    Dicator.

Damn, I love that. Sounds like the next Batman villain. The GOP Dicator Newt Gingrich.

  3. Jason330 says:

Anouter….? I wish that I had stand to make fun of this.

  4. Scott P says:

I, for one, agree with that fine Patriot of an SUV window. It is, in fact, Time for Anouter Change. All the Inner stuffs cool, though.

  5. bamboozer says:

Apparently only the best and brightest of the Tea Party get to make the signs.

  6. Scott P says:

Let’s see: “You should have seen that dicator that cut me off this morning.” … “My boss was acting like a real dicator yesterday.” … Yes, this IS now my new favorite insult word. Thank you, semi-literate Tea Partier!

  7. liberalgeek says:

“Your Welcomme” – a Tea Partier

  8. Scott P says:

And on a semi-serious note, people like Tancredo might want to keep this in mind when they start talking about literacy tests. I’m thinking that’s an idea that could come back to bite them in the ass.

  9. anon says:

Cut them a break – they weren’t allowed to bring the racist signs, so they had to make these up in a hurry. It’s not their best work.

  10. I don’t know, I think someone probably spent a long time writing “Time for Anouter Change” on that car window.

  11. JustMe says:

Don’t blame them, they went to public schools. NB: Ebonics was something progressives tried to use to legitimize poor grammar and spelling. I can only assume this means you think said progressives are full of crap.

  12. anononthisone says:

No, they probably went to some “Christian Academy” somewhere. And Ebonics, i.e. African-American venacular, is a recognized dialect by most linguists. But bravo, way to be an uninformed dicator.

  13. anon says:

It is the tragedy of home schooling.

  14. MJ says:

And for your Friday afternoon enjoyment (and it’s beautiful down here at the beach), more teabonics

  15. Collins says:

“It is the tragedy of home schooling.”

I am a proud liberal and I home school my children. My oldest was home schooled for 6 years, private christian schools for 2 years and then to Milford HS. She has been on honor roll every quarter and is graduating with high honors. My 15 yo son has been home schooled for 8 years, private christian schools for 2 years and starts college in the fall. My wife & I home schooled because we could tailor their education (curriculum & speed) to their individual abilities and desires (please note both my wife & I have education degrees (BA) even though neither of us teach in a traditional school). My oldest went to public high school because we were not equipped to give her the education in art (how to) that she wanted.
We are big supporters of public education-but it is not a one size fits all proposition. And as someone who has been very successful at home schooling his children and is a proud liberal, I would like to have the support of other liberals in the education choices I make for my children.

  16. anon says:

No offense meant; I also know successful homeschoolers. Just picking on a stereotype of conservative anti-government homeschoolers which sort of fits into the discussion today.

  17. Collins says:

Sorry I get a little defensive about it–I just get tired of always hearing how dumb &/or lacking in social skills homeschooled kids are and my children are the polar opposite of those stereo-types.

I usually have a thicker skin than that. I have to admit that I know some people who home school and their children could be poster children for that stereo-type.

  18. aqc says:

I went to the tea party in Wilmington just to check it out. The only black person was the cop who got stuck working it!

  19. Scott P says:

I’m sure that was just a fluke, aqc. I mean, the black cop being there. They’re not just a gang of old, white, Republicans, you know. Dang, almost did it with a straight face.

Thank you COLLINS for your remarks .Made me stop and reconsider .Congrats on your success in home schooling. I was a public school teacher and married an beautiful irish catholic woman . Since I had a Masters in Teaching I naturally assumed (this was 70’s) that our children would be raised in the PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM .Wronggggggg !!!!After 5 years in a private catholic school and the rest in public system they turned out ok.(fabulous) I will remember your remarks. Thank you for speaking out.
