Move Over Tea Party, Welcome To The Coffee Party

Filed in National by on March 1, 2010

A new movement has started to counter the Tea Party movement – it’s called the the Coffee Party movement.

MISSION: The Coffee Party Movement gives voice to Americans who want to see cooperation in government. We recognize that the federal government is not the enemy of the people, but the expression of our collective will, and that we must participate in the democratic process in order to address the challenges that we face as Americans. As voters and grassroots volunteers, we will support leaders who work toward positive solutions, and hold accountable those who obstruct them.

Within a few weeks, 36,000 people have already joined. If you’re on Facebook, you can become a fan or you can join at the Coffee Party website. This is a true grass roots movement, unlike the Tea Party movement which was hyped endlessly by Fox News and astroturf groups. Hopefully this movement will be successful at holding Democrats accountable. Our democracy can’t continue to function if neither party is willing to do anything.

i’ve always liked coffee better anyway. it is a macho american drink. Not like that wussy european tea….
fat cat CEOs who own catamarans and belong to country clubs drink tea

good hard working diverse americans who have to be at work at 9 drink coffee…. and have those coffee stains on their blue collars because they don’t have time for elite tea-bagger cloths.

anyone else wanna help with the talking points?
