Olberman’s Special Comment Last Night

Filed in National by on February 25, 2010

Keith was a stuff of legend decrying the Bush Administration, but like all rants, true or not, it looses effectiveness over time. But not last night. His story about his father sounds exactly just like what most of American families has to deal with.

Government run health care will mean that the conversation Olberman had with the doctors, will instead be between the government, and the doctors.

  2. cassandra m says:

It isn’t Government run health care.

If the only way you can communicate is via already debunked talking points, you really need to take this off to Delaware Politics where your ignorance won’t be so obvious.

  3. Delaware Dem says:

That is a lie, and you are a ghoul. The reform bill does not provide for government run healthcare (so that is lie # 1 by you), it orders that insurance companies pay for end of life consultations between you and your doctors (so there is no conversation between the government and the doctor), so that is lie # 2 by you.

Why do you lie so much, fighting blue hen. You bring dishonor upon yourself and your family.

  4. MJ says:

FBH – you are so wrong. Perhaps we should do away with Medicare, Medicaid, the VA Health System, TRICARE, and FEHB? Those are government run.

  5. Just some observations:

When Christian ministers damn sinners to Hell, Olbermann and his ilk condemn them. Doesn’t that make his doing so here a tad hypocritical?

Wasn’t “subhuman” a term used by Hitler to justify the persecution and murder of those he hated? Is that where Olbermann is headed with regard to his political opponents?

Doesn’t the sort of incoherent rage expressed by Olbermann here remind you more than a little bit of Joe Stack’s suicide note? Not just the tone, but also the content.

  6. Joanne Christian says:

Geez gang, it feels disrespectful commenting on this under an anguished son’s plea.

  7. meatball says:

The vast majority of these conversations already occur with “the government.” How many folks having these discussions are not on medicare? Step back into reality, FBH.

  8. fightingbluehen says:

Whoever flips the bill, is going to be in charge of running health care.

    “ghoul”……that’s a good one DD.

  9. Delaware Dem says:

MJ, Republicans WANT to end all Medicare and Medicaid. Their probable nominee, Tim Pawlenty (he will be the compromise between Palin and Romney), has said as much.

  10. cassandra_m says:

@FBH — Not exactly, but once again your peeps over at Delaware Politics would be high fiving you over that new piece of ignorance.

  11. V says:

My grandmother was exclusively on medicare when we had to have those discussions with HER doctor. And it worked just fine.

and like KO says up there thank god she made a point to tell us over and over and over her wishes, we knew exactly what to do and it was/is a huge comfort. I hope everybody here takes some time to do it, and i hope that eventually regulations will encourage the more hesitant of us to do so.

  12. Joanne Christian says:

So very sorry, I had to look this up to read of his demise. Rest in Peace.
