UI, you stole my post!
This is choice from Castle, I think:
“Attacks on me are simply an effort to distract from the fact that we still do not have the full focus of Congress and the administration on the economy, job growth and spending restraint,” he said.
Maybe and he certainly can’t name anything that he has done to help with any of that. All he has been doing is voting with his party for the last few years and their agenda is no where near including the economy, job growth or spending restraint. So really Castle — what have you done for us lately?

Mike Castle is a member of Congress. It makes that statement seem weird. So why hasn’t he been focusing on the economy, job growth and spending restraint?
Comment by Delaware Dem on 12 February 2010 at 11:59 am:
He has voted against focusing on jobs and the economy!!!!!!!!!! The gall of that enormously tall bastard.
Comment by Jason330 on 12 February 2010 at 12:17 pm:
I guess he is running as the outsider.

Bet he’s scouring the state looking for a beat up pickup to ride around in.
This is also choice:
“The bottom line is that while I disagreed with the size and scope of the bill, some federal money was allocated for programs that I have worked with the delegation to fund for many years and I am not willing to send Delawareans’ tax dollars to other states,” he said in a statement.
So what does this have to do with showing up to take credit for projects funded by something you voted against? Seems to me that the reporter here had an opportunity that she passed up. And choosing to NOT show up to take credit certainly would not have sent any of the allocated funds anywhere else. In many ways, this is just nonsense, and it is way too bad that the press is incredibly accustomed to treating this as normal from repubs.

Of course I think the article could have been better but I take it as a sign that the hypocrite label is starting to stick to Mike Castle. I think Coons actually has a good shot against Castle. Coons doesn’t have to worry about the dynasty issue that Biden has and he can run as an outsider in an outsider’s year.

Interesting that 100% of the News Journal comments (not counting the unrelated birther comment) are anti-Mike Castle.
