More Christmas Carols
I can’t let DD have all of the fun — this is one of my favorite singers ever, and possibly my favorite Christmas recording ever:

Hmm, when small businesses don’t read the fine print and get penalized, Republicans get all medieval about in — in a Senate sort of way. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley (R) is going to hold up several Treasury Department nominees because he wants leniency on tax evaders and lawbreakers reports CQ Politics.
Grassley and other lawmakers have [...]
Senate passes Health Care Reform
Turn on your CNN or MSNBC to see this historic moment. Harry Reid is speaking now, so the vote is immiment. It will be interesting to see the final tally here. Will there be liberal Democrats that vote against final passage due to the lack of the public option? [...]

More Christmas Carols
One of my favorites. Has a liberal lean to it too, only because it is about famine in Africa. Teabaggers don’t care much for that! Kenya is in Africa, after all. And, “Feed the World?” That’s socialism.
What Did He Think Cutting the Budget Would Look Like?
The Blizzard of 2009 has nearly exhausted the state budget for snow removal already. Republicans love to criticize spending and have demanded more and more spending cuts from the state budget. Well, what the hell does precious little David Anderson thinks gets cut when spending is cut across the board?

Yes, the Gremlins is a Christmas movie.
Please, Dads out there, do not climb down the chimney. Or feed Mogwai after midnight.

Top 10 Celebrity Falls From Grace of the Decade
Yeah, I know this is El Som’s ballywick, but I couldn’t help myself when I cam across this on Heavy.com (not the best site to be viewed while at work).
So which celebrity beat out Chris Brown, Amy Winehouse, Phil Spector, Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, Michael Vick, Britney Spears, Tiger Woods and Lindsay Lohan?
If you guessed [...]
Kaufman Finally Responds
Kaufman’s excuse in voting for Nelson-Stupak reveals him to be either ignorant of what he is voting for, or a coward. Since we hope that neither is true, he needs to find another reason, and fast.

Impatient for Beau
Beau Biden is enjoying his time home with his family, and tackling the AG’s office after a year away. Personally, I believe he will run and I believe the race, once underway, will not be close. But our 24 hour 7 days a week national media wanted their instant gratification yesterday.

God Works In Mysterious Ways
Remember Sen. Coburn’s very classy call to pray someone didn’t show up to vote on the Senate health care reform bill? Well, interestingly, this morning one Senator didn’t show up for the vote. It wasn’t Robert Byrd, it was Sen. Inhofe. A caller to C-SPAN worried that his prayer (he called himself [...]

This just in from the News Journal, an important partner for the wind turbine tower construction project has pulled out of a partnership with Delawind. You may remember that Delawind was attacked by the right-wing here in Delaware because one of their principles is John Carney. Delawind had applied for financing from the state to [...]
22Dec2009 | liberalgeek | 8 comments | ContinuedThe Catch-22
This is a lonnnnnnnnng post. This is three weeks worth of frustration and rants on the misconception seen in the Great Blogosphere Civil War of 2009 and political realities.
First, I just want to point out a few misconceptions by some independents and some our my purist liberal friends who have become bill [...]

The Self Confidence of the Neocon as Foreign Policy
To read John McCain’s quote, stating that victory in Afghanistan and Iraq means “breaking their will,” it strikes me that he is just, and still, a fourteen year old boy dreaming of the grandieur of war and the vanquishment of our enemies. And it is quite shocking since, he, of all people, should have a clear view that war is not a fantasy, and that fantasy is not war.

Senate Bill Passes 2nd Cloture Vote
The 2nd cloture vote on the Senate health care reform bill. The motion to end debate passed 60-39. So, it looks like Sen. Coburn’s prayer that someone not show up for voting (Sen. Inhofe) came true after all! Congrats, to Sen. Coburn, he was probably doubting the righteousness of denying people health [...]
