Bulo Remembers 2009-The Year in Television

Filed in National by on December 29, 2009

Before this couch potato goes to the ‘experts’, my #1 viewing experience this year was without a doubt the Obama Inauguration. A truly historic and inspirational event well-covered. Made even better by the booing of the wheelchair-bound (did he think he’d get sympathy by pulling that stunt?) Dick Cheney. TV Reference: Dick Cheney as Guy Caballero.

OK, let’s go to the ‘experts’:

The New Yorker’s Nancy Franklin’s take on TV’s most notable events of 2009.

Gotta love a blog called TV Squad. At least I do. Imagine some anonymous voice saying, “New episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta coming on in 5 minutes. TV Squad, man your remotes, stat!”

View the Squad’s picks here, and here, and here, and here, and finally here.

The boob tube obsessives at TV.com’s Best Shows of 2009.

Finally, the NYTimes critics weigh in. Mike Hale and Alessandra Stanley.

More than any other category, too many TV lists required clicks for each countdown item, which explains the relative paucity of lists. Quality over quantity. Gotta go, there’s celebrity poker over on Comcast Sportsnet!

I always thought that “pond scum” was faking it to keep from standing when Obama was introduced. It seems that he has passed that nastiness down to his offspring.

When old and evil Dick passes on let us sow the ground where he is buried with salt and then water, in appropriate fashion.
