More Details on the Health Insurance Reform Deal.
According to CNN, Harry Reid has announced a “broad agreement” between among the “Team of Ten” liberal and conservative Democrats that have been negotiating on the public option, with the possible alternative being an expansion of Medicare down to 55, as well as making the FEHE open to all. I will post details as they […]
Run Sarah Run!
The Fix has an interesting item about Sarah Palin. She’s open to the possibility of running as a 3rd party candidate. An astute Fixista flagged a fascinating interview that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin gave to conservative talk radio host Lars Larson last Friday in which she appears to leave the door open to a […]
A Modest Healthcare Proposal
I would love to see an interim law get passed for heathcare reform that drops all elected legislators from their government healthcare as of January 1st. This will give legislators a few weeks to find their free-market healthcare options and sign up. I wonder how many of them would be unable to get insurance due […]
Tuesday Open Thread
It’s Tuesday and it’s already started out badly considering I had a 1.5 hour commute because of a huge I-95 traffic jam. Let’s open thread. This is interesting – was ACORN framed? Harshbarger also notes that the videos were sometimes less than perfect representations of the events they depict. He writes: The videos that have […]
Moving Toward Foreclosure in Delaware?
A few months ago, I was composing a post on the new foreclosure program that brought together a number of non-profits and the Delaware courts for the purpose of avoiding foreclosures. Unfortunately, that post still sits in my “drafts” list due to my stupidity. But today, I am bringing you some of the details of […]
Bulo Remembers 2009-Pop Culture for Better or Worse
Although Bulo himmyself aspires to Pop Cultural Icon status, I confess that much of what is considered pop culture at the ebbing of the Noughts is foreign to me. Granted, I should know more about the Gosselins than I do, but so much of what passes for pop culture nowadays resembles the Jerry Springer Show […]

Tedd Petruna, The New Chuck Norris
The tall tale of Tedd Petruna first emerged this weekend. Tedd Petruna sent an email that soon went viral about his brave actions thwarting a terrorist attack dry run on an airplane. In an email account of his experience that went national on right-wing blogs last week, Tedd Petruna describes a group of 11 Muslim […]
This is Why They Will Lose
Look at that photo. For context, this is some Yale students’ reaction to a street preacher and his exhaustive list of sins that will send you to Hell. This picture shows two students, who are probably heterosexual, but that doesn’t matter, mocking the preacher by kissing! This is why the forces of hatred will eventually lose, no matter any short term victory they have recently gained in California, Maine and New York. The younger generations, starting with my own, do not care about homosexuality that much. Look at all those smiles from the onlookers in the photo. No one is horrified at the sight of two men embracing and kissing. No one is shocked.
Newest Public Option Compromise: Medicare Buy-In
This week is when the most intense negotiations are going on in the Senate. The most contentious part is the fate of the Public Option, with the Senate A%#hole Caucus (Lieberman, B. Nelson, Lincoln and Landrieu) threatening to torpedo the bill if it contains it and several progressives (Sanders, Burris) threatening to vote against a […]
