Oyster stuffing is really traditional in my family and my non-Maryland friends are pretty addicted to it. I use a recipe that my grandmother used. Unfortunately, I can’t eat it — allergies to the oysters.

Rebecca, I hear that Hartefield is a very nice place for dinner. It is neat that you choose to do your own cooking a couple of days later — that way your family and friends get multiple Thanksgivings this week!

Oooh cassandra, sounds wonderful!

We went out for the big meal. Hartefeld put on a very nice buffet and everything was delicious. Good news, nothing to clean up. Bad news, no leftovers. But I’m doing a TG feast on Saturday for family and a few friends.

Now I’m going to couch potato with True Compass, Ted Kennedy’s memoir. It’s good reading, especially if you like stories about the Kennedy clan, and I do.

Happy Thanksgiving one and all, and ditto the thanks above to Jason330 for creating this community.

Turkey brined with apples and honey stuffed with fresh herbs cooked on the grill
Gravy
Mashed potatoes
Oyster stuffing

Roasted Brussel sprouts and chestnuts
Cranberry Port Sauce
Cranberry Orange Sauce
Apple Pie
Pumpkin pie

Things I’m thankful for:

-My family (I don’t have any wingnut ones — yay!)
-My friends, even the wingnut ones
-Being able to hangout here with all of the great contributors and (mostly) great commenters
-Having a pretty great job and (mostly) great co-workers and owners
-No one having particularly high expectations of me on either Facebook or Twitter
-Having the chance to showoff my awesome cooking skills today!

And Happy Birthday to Governor Markell! Our birthdays are in the same month, so now I know why I think so highly of him!
