		<description>Ummm, here&#039;s the thing.  I live with two seniors, heck, some would say I am one too.  Their lives are challenging and there is a lot of scary stuff.  They are predisposed to believe that if something can go bad it probably will, and they are predisposed to believe  Republican lies versus reality.  Plus, the TV is tuned to Faux News (not here) or CNN (here) for most of the day so the message gets hammered home.  It is unlikely that AARP will get a chance to refute these claims, and even if they do they will sound defensive.  

This is a prime example of Republican strategy -- sling the mud and sling it first.  The MSM will carry the story ad nauseum.  Any reply to the story is going to look defensive (they learned this from Nixon&#039;s Checkers speech).  Don&#039;t discount this tactic.</description>

		<description>I think the AARP is almost as effective as the NRA.  Yes, I think some ideological seniors will leave the group.  However, the AARP endorsement of the House bill will really undercut the Republicans&#039; narrative that Democrats are cutting Medicare and Republicans are saving it.</description>
