Being wrong about this race from the outset, I hope I am wrong again when I say that local and National wingnuts will leave O’Donnell standing at the alter. She is such a hard core loser with such a bad track record that it is hard to imagine even the most fantasy drunk supporters getting behind her for a big push.

Exactly pandora. Purgers could use this race to test if the Republicans are serious about enforcing ideological purity. If the national GOP doesn’t take them seriously and the Delaware GOP base does nothing I guess that shows us that the Delaware GOP still cares more about winning than it does about ideology. I’d like to know – what has the Delaware GOP base been doing to get their message out to the state party and to the national party?

I’m not sure what will happen in the Castle primary. I guess it depends on the folks over at DP, etc. If they push for her to be taken seriously and she’s not, will they reach out (across state lines) to other teabaggers, like Armey, Palin, etc? And if they reach out will they be heard?

I’m not certain, altho this race seems right up Palin and co. alley. It would receive unbelievable exposure – Moderate Republican from VP’s state with VP’s son in the race. Guaranteed news coverage and easily tied to the WH.

Should be interesting.

I agree it is really the only bullet in her gun. I think the problem for O’D is that the deranged teabagger intelligentsia thinks that Castle stands a decent chance of winning the Senate seat.

O’Donnell is not on the national GOP radar screen at all. I’ve been looking around and Castle is not mentioned by DeMint (Senate teabagger king wannabe) and it’s definitely not on the radar at the NRSC. Will today’s event remind everyone that there is a primary challenger for Mike Castle? If O’Donnell is a serious candidate even in her own mind you would think she would try to take advantage of the GOP war against moderates to promote her own canidacy.

Lots of talk about beating Joe Biden lest Ruth Ann Minner appoint our next Senator on O’D’s 2010 site. Either she is phoning it in this time or she really thinks that she is running again. It’s possible.

We wouldn’t need to send a dossier of Mr. Shallow Bench’s greatest hits to anyone other than the people and the voters he will be facing in his NCCo race. I think it is a real mistake to think that district will buy the wingnuttiest candidate in the area.
