The Castle Purging Begins on Saturday
Apparently there is a Tea Party this Saturday in Dover. I guess that it is being advertised on Stormfront or wherever those people get together online. Last time they did this, there was a minor bruhaha about Tea Party barfly, Mike Protack and his demand for top billing. This time, an actual candidate for an actual office is speaking.
This Saturday, November 7, at 1:00 p.m., U.S. Senate Candidate Christine O’Donnell will speak at the Delaware Tea Party Rally to be held at Legislative Mall, in Dover. In her first campaign speech for election 2010, Christine will join participants to stand in opposition to the Obama-Pelosi liberal agenda that seeks to increase government authority and decrease individual freedom and liberty.
I wonder how Christine O’Donnell took the results of NY-23? Is she emboldened by the ejection of Scozzafava? I hope so. Perhaps Mike Castle will be forced to burnish his conservative credentials and run to the right for a couple of months. If so, his soft fleshy flank will be revealed for its Bush-enabling for 8 years and massive wounds will be opened by the Democratic opponent.
When you consider that Mike Castle may have no support from the NRSC until he wins his primary, this could spell trouble for a guy with anemic fundraising. Do the money men want to be on the wrong side of the “true conservatives”?
Hey Dick Armey! Mike Castle hates embryoes! Come and get him!

Comment by Unstable Isotope on 5 November 2009 at 10:21 am:
Castle is a RINO who should be purged. Where are you Jim DeMint? That fact that DeMint isn’t looking to Delaware proves that even the GOP ignores David Anderson.
Comment by cassandra_m on 5 November 2009 at 10:24 am:
So apparently the NRSC staying out of this primary legitimizes O’Donnell in a way she would have never gotten otherwise.
Sweet!
Mike Protack and his demand for top billing.
GTF! I hadn’t heard that, I don’t think. Part of his diabolical plans to win many friends apparently.
Comment by pandora on 5 November 2009 at 10:30 am:
Oh yeah, pass the popcorn. This is gonna be good.
Comment by anon on 5 November 2009 at 11:29 am:
Over at DP, foaming-mouth commenter Rick is referring to O’Donnell as “Mike Miller in pumps.”
Comment by Brian Shields on 5 November 2009 at 11:32 am:
This purge strategy is nucking futs.
I mean, I don’t like Castle as much as they don’t.. but I dislike O’Donnell even more.
nucking futs.
Comment by JUST KIDDIN on 5 November 2009 at 1:15 pm:
While you dems like to talk about purging Castle, you say nothing about the blue dog, insurance companies in my pocket Carper. Such hypocrisy!
Comment by pandora on 5 November 2009 at 1:21 pm:
I hope you’re just kiddin, either that or you’re very new around here.
Comment by Delaware Republican on 5 November 2009 at 3:48 pm:
Now I know why you support Government health care, you need mental health assistance. An offer to help is not a demand of any kind. The two events I was involved with were successful so I am very content.
I guess you folks are angry about the can of whoop ass NJ and Va voters opened up on you guys this week? How is that Hope and Change doing for you? Hope and Change is so weak even a super majority in the House and Senate means nothing to anything Obama proposes.
It is always humorous to hear from those who know nothing about anything-Liberals.

Ooh, Mikey’s talking trash. Geek must have hit a big ol’ nerve.
Comment by liberalgeek on 5 November 2009 at 3:58 pm:
Mike is trying to ignore the very public blow up that he had with some of the organizers. The brother of one of the organizers called Mike out while he (the brother) was onstage. Later the members of the organization said that there had been a misunderstanding, but methinks the damage has been done.
As for the rest of Mikey’s stuff, I wonder how that sells in a county council race? When Mike gets whooped, I am sure that there will be some nefarious collusion that thwarted his campaign, because it is impossible that reasonable people would vote against him.
Yep, you got us Mikey. That’s why Obama’s approval rating in NJ is so low. What color is the sky in your world?
Comment by Geezer on 5 November 2009 at 4:21 pm:
I think someone should compile a dossier of Mike’s record in politics and send it to his employers. He obviously has learned to lie his way through the mental health test they administer. Maybe if they learn the whole truth they’ll put him in the padded room he deserves.
Comment by JUST KIDDIN on 5 November 2009 at 4:46 pm:
Just Kiddin isnt kiddin! And know I am not new around here just have a lot of information on ole Tommy boy. As much whoop ass going to Castle should be shoveled on ole Tommy who never met a corporate he didnt like

Hey, I have to admit when I am impressed…
Mike said, …can of whoop ass…
I am rather impressed.
Next will be the wrasslin’ ring.

“Drill,Baby, Drill” became “Hoffman,Baby, Hoffman” and now morphs to “Purge, Baby, Purge”, the new GOP mantra. Teabagging and Bachmania for all!

Just Kiddin’: Since you’re a moron, let me clue you in: Carper comes in for frequent criticism on this site for exactly the reasons you state.

NRSC staying out of this primary? Oh my. That is real news.
BTW – I want the crazy lady with her birth certificate in a plastic bag to show up with a little fetus in a plastic bag.
Comment by John Tobin on 5 November 2009 at 9:11 pm:
I don’t know if the NRSC is staying out of this primary. Castle is the only Republican senate candidate for the seat currently held by Ted Kaufman that their website mentions. They offer two news items about Castle’s entry into the race and a link to Castle’s senate campaign site:
http://www.nrsc.org/senators/ted-kaufman.html
There is no mention of O’Donnell.

This sounds like a NRSC endorsement to me:
NRSC Chairman Cornyn’s Statement On Rep. Mike Castle’s Senate CandidacyTuesday, 06 October 2009 11:06
In the News
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), issued the following statement in response to U.S. Representative Mike Castle (R-DE) officially announcing his bid for the U.S. Senate:
“Mike Castle’s announcement today instantly transforms Delaware into one of the most competitive Senate races in the country in 2010. As an independent and experienced statesman who has earned the respect of Republicans and Democrats alike, Congressman Castle has a proven record of representing the people of Delaware in a bipartisan fashion, and we are thrilled that he has decided to take this next step toward extending his career of public service in the United States Senate. The NRSC will ensure that Mike Castle has all the necessary resources to win this seat next November.”

Thanks for the laugh from Geezer and Geek who stay in the shadows as uninformed and unintelligent life forms. It is a role for which they are well suited.
The so called blow up ended up in an apology from the the same group to me. As I said, both events I was involved in were very successful.
For Geezer, failed food critic and failing radio show host I would be glad to give you the address of any layer of Delta management you desire. I will pay for the postage also, let me know. You and I both know you will do nothing, as always.
Obama has 10.2% unemployment around his neck, too bad for the country as he is easily the biggest failure as a President in recent memory.
Mike Protack
Comment by pandora on 6 November 2009 at 1:58 pm:
Go for it, Geezer. Mikey’s full of crap.
Then again, if the GOP has turned to Mikey they are in worse shape then I thought.
BTW, Mikey, you have inspired me. I plan to go door to door to defeat you, and, lord knows, I have enough material – in your own words.

Mike Protack wrote Obama has 10.2% unemployment around his neck, too bad for the country as he is easily the biggest failure as a President in recent memory.
Where the hell was Protack between 2001 and 2008? Circling Philadelphia International Airport?
Comment by Geezer on 6 November 2009 at 2:02 pm:
What always amuses me, Mikey, is that you won’t dare talk like this on the radio, because you know perfectly well that the jig would be up. You lie constantly, pretending to be moderate when we all know you’re an anti-abortion warrior, pretending to have principles and then quitting on the INdependent Party. You better hope to heaven that nobody convinces the Election Commissioner to pry into your campaign funds, because you and I both know you didn’t raise any $80,000 in under-$100 sums. Most people assume you’ve been raiding the estate of your incapacitated mother. Why don’t you release all the names of your donors and prove me wrong?
We both know you won’t. I’ll stack my record up against yours any day, you pathetic turd.
Comment by RSmitty on 6 November 2009 at 2:07 pm:

Nope.
For Geezer, failed food critic and failing radio show host…
Whatever. You judging failure just made my day! Phew! I love slapstick every once in a while.
Oh my gosh, I almost forgot:

We wouldn’t need to send a dossier of Mr. Shallow Bench’s greatest hits to anyone other than the people and the voters he will be facing in his NCCo race. I think it is a real mistake to think that district will buy the wingnuttiest candidate in the area.
Comment by jason330 on 6 November 2009 at 10:35 pm:
As much as I’d like to see O’Donnell go full wingnut and bring down the crazy – her campaign is already moribund.
No web site update since 2008? That’s not how you stir up the patriots.

Lots of talk about beating Joe Biden lest Ruth Ann Minner appoint our next Senator on O’D’s 2010 site. Either she is phoning it in this time or she really thinks that she is running again. It’s possible.
Comment by Unstable Isotope on 7 November 2009 at 7:24 am:
O’Donnell is not on the national GOP radar screen at all. I’ve been looking around and Castle is not mentioned by DeMint (Senate teabagger king wannabe) and it’s definitely not on the radar at the NRSC. Will today’s event remind everyone that there is a primary challenger for Mike Castle? If O’Donnell is a serious candidate even in her own mind you would think she would try to take advantage of the GOP war against moderates to promote her own canidacy.
Comment by jason330 on 7 November 2009 at 7:29 am:
UI,
I agree it is really the only bullet in her gun. I think the problem for O’D is that the deranged teabagger intelligentsia thinks that Castle stands a decent chance of winning the Senate seat.
Comment by Unstable Isotope on 7 November 2009 at 7:46 am:
The teabagger intelligensia thinks it’s better to have 30 perfect senators than a majority that includes moderates.
Comment by pandora on 7 November 2009 at 8:06 am:
I’m not sure what will happen in the Castle primary. I guess it depends on the folks over at DP, etc. If they push for her to be taken seriously and she’s not, will they reach out (across state lines) to other teabaggers, like Armey, Palin, etc? And if they reach out will they be heard?
I’m not certain, altho this race seems right up Palin and co. alley. It would receive unbelievable exposure – Moderate Republican from VP’s state with VP’s son in the race. Guaranteed news coverage and easily tied to the WH.
Should be interesting.
Comment by Unstable Isotope on 7 November 2009 at 8:11 am:
Exactly pandora. Purgers could use this race to test if the Republicans are serious about enforcing ideological purity. If the national GOP doesn’t take them seriously and the Delaware GOP base does nothing I guess that shows us that the Delaware GOP still cares more about winning than it does about ideology. I’d like to know – what has the Delaware GOP base been doing to get their message out to the state party and to the national party?
Comment by jason330 on 7 November 2009 at 8:22 am:
Being wrong about this race from the outset, I hope I am wrong again when I say that local and National wingnuts will leave O’Donnell standing at the alter. She is such a hard core loser with such a bad track record that it is hard to imagine even the most fantasy drunk supporters getting behind her for a big push.
