This video is from a TV show called The State. Never heard of it. But this is a funny skit and I’m looking for Smitty to step up and confess how much of his own life looks like this:

I’ll have to watch this when I get home. In case you were wondering Cassandra, The State was a sketch comedy show on MTV from late 1993 – mid 1995. Two members (Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter) currently have a show on Comedy Central. The State was kind of like Kids in the Hall, but with a slightly lower amount of cross-dressing and Canadians.

You worry too much. Eat some bacon… What? No, I got no idea if it’ll make you feel better, I just made too much bacon.

The only difference that skit has from my real life is that it wasn’t filmed in my house. Other than that, it’s pretty much spot-on. Anyone want any *ahem* “slow-cooked” bacon?

Scott’s right about the run of The State. I used to watch it fairly regularly back then. One skit I remember more than anything else had Michael Ian Black and someone else (I can’t recall exactly who) that did some “Love Couch” skit (may not have been the name of the skit, but it’s the general idea). Coming fresh off a night of watching Rocky Horror at Barnstormers (Ridley Park, PA) last night, I can recall that the skit was a line-blurrer as well.
