Moving On.

Filed in National by on October 16, 2009

Well, never say that Delaware Liberal is hiding its dirty laundry. We have to air it out here. It is undeniable that there is friction between Donviti and a number of other members of this blog. It comes from personality conflicts, not substantive political differences, even though our conservative and Libertarian friends will undoubtedly say otherwise. Jason invited Donviti onto this blog precisely because he was an independent minded independent liberal who would keep it real. Not to mention he was a good writer. I don’t think any one of us here agrees with anyone about anything. We all write about what we want to write about, and if get into debates or disagreements with each other, so much the better.

And Donviti was free to write anything he wanted to write about whenever he wanted to write about it. Whether it be his personal stories involving the problems with his ex wife to his current struggles with alcohol to his frustrations with Democrats in Congress, the Delaware Way, or President Obama. And he knows that is true since the last Delaware Liberal blow up you all witnessed was all about making sure Donviti could say what he wanted to say. And in case you did not notice, it was Donviti that stayed then, and said what he wanted to say without any censorship from anyone.

To use a cliché, there is no “I” in team. Even though we post on this blog as individuals, we are also a team. A group blog is a team, where we all have to work together. The interpersonal conflicts between Donviti and others here have made it impossible to function as a team, and like any business or group venture, something has to change.

That something is that Donviti can no longer be a member of Delaware Liberal. His voice and work will be missed here, since he is a good writer and a good blogger. We encourage him to open up his own blog or to join Delaware Libertarian (Steve Newton has invited him). From there, I am sure his firebrand voice will continue to keep it real, as we try to do so here, although at a great disadvantage without him.

Cassandra, XStryker, El Som, LiberalGeek, Unstable Isotope, Pandora, Nemski, myself and our Founder Jason Scott all want to thank Donviti for his years of hard work and good writing. He will be missed.

But we have to move on.

I like Donviti but this seems like a good move. Liberal blogs should be causing drama among wrong thinking conservatives by dousing them with the salty truth.

  2. Delaware Dem says:

Jason, you were not in on the discussions leading to this decision, but this decision was not about Donviti’s criticisms about Democrats. Indeed, I share them, especially concerning Harry Reid and those spineless Blue Dogs in Congress. And I agree with DV about DADT, but I just approach these disagreements with the Administration differently than DV.

No, this decision is about our personality conflicts among us. It was a very difficult decision to make.

  3. I just hope that we don’t become boring. But we don’t want the entertainment to be us squabbling with each other.

  4. Jason330 says:

Whatever the cause, the effect is that you guys will be able able to take on wrong thinking conservatives. That is a good thing.

  5. Delaware Dem says:

And I will take on the wrong thinking Democrats when they betray us.

UI, it will never be boring with me around. Who knows who I will threaten to round up next?

  6. Jason330 says:

Okay, but I have to point out that there is already a billion dollar industry dedicated to exposing the perfidy, spinelessness and loserhood of Democrats.

  7. Delaware Dem says:

Understood. But it is the politically and morally right thing to do. Indeed, look how liberal Arlen Specter became when he faced a primary? He is voting like Howard Dean would now. Sure, he will be defeated anyway by Sestak, but applying political pressure to our Democrats in Congress makes them do the right thing now, because if we don’t do that, then the only voices they hear is the corporate and insurance lobbyist.

Remember your dream of primarying Carper? That is what I am talking about.

  8. anon says:

Not to get in the middle of your squabble, but Specter will defeat Sestak and then Toomey, or whatever his name is. The Obama Administration and the democratic party will keep their word on giving Spector the proper amount of support, financial and otherwise. It will be plenty to defeat Sestak. But your point regarding political pressure is a valid one, it just won’t result in a “personnel change.”

  9. Delaware Dem says:

    The squabble is over, anon.

No, Specter’s reelect number is at 31, and that spells certain doom for him. The irony is that he changed parties to avoid a primary. Sure, Rendell and Obama will fundraise and stump for him, but I don’t think it will work.

  10. donviti says:

lmao, let the echo chamber commence. it’s been a nice ride.

  11. Delaware Dem says:

It has been a nice ride, Donviti, but this blog has been and never will be an echo chamber. None of us here agree with each other on strategy or policies.

  12. nemski says:

It has been a nice ride, Donviti, but this blog has been and never will be an echo chamber. None of us here agree with each other on strategy or policies.

  13. RSmitty says:

I knew it…DD and nemski are just robotic clones of the Democratic Party.

    badree-boop….blip…whiiirrrr…MARKELL…badree-boop….blip…whiiirrrr…OBAMA…

  14. Delaware Dem says:

Um, Nemski, why are you copying me? LOL.

  15. Kilroy says:

So sad that the new DL (AJ) after Jason has to be molded into one vision. It’s the individual personalities of DL that makes you special and purging the DL players out because they drift from the far left is quite sad. Donviti wears his emotions out on his sleeve and it looks as if you’re saying he doesn’t meet the professional standards of DL. Though the far left and the far right have opposite political views I am afraid to say, the mentality is quite the same.

    But it’s your sandbox!

Donviti you’re a real person that can feel the pain the world is going through and if that’s a fault then Obama’s dream of change and hold didn’t rign home with the far left!

    Unstable Isotope
“I just hope that we don’t become boring. But we don’t want the entertainment to be us squabbling with each other.”

Not boring just redundant and though the squabbling was entertainmnet it only showed extreme Liberal have emotion beyond politcal views.

Goes to show you, you’re friends are your worst enemy.

  16. Delaware Dem says:

Kilroy, you do realize that Jason is on this thread commenting, right? And apparently in agreement with this change, right? This has nothing to do with before or after Jason. It has nothing to do with Donviti and the far left, and even there, you are wrong since it Donviti’s criticism of the party are from the far left, so he is not drifting from the far left.

Regardless, Donviti is gone because he is not a team player. He had no respect for his fellow bloggers or Delaware Liberal as a blog. That is why he is gone.

  17. donviti says:

lmao, jesus christ. Team player? that is hilarious. after everything Kilroy said that is what you say.

You guys are acting like there is more behind the seens there really is. If there is one thing that people know of me is I put it all on the table my way.

You guys are the ones behind the scenes emailing each other not me.

Airing my dirty laundry right in the open. There is nothing more to this story. Only what ever you all are keeping to yourselves.

  18. donviti says:

    Kilroy said,

It’s the individual personalities of DL that makes you special and purging the DL players out because they drift from the far left is quite sad. Donviti wears his emotions out on his sleeve and it looks as if you’re saying he doesn’t meet the professional standards of DL.

    then DD said:

egardless, Donviti is gone because he is not a team player. He had no respect for his fellow bloggers or Delaware Liberal as a blog. That is why he is gone.

just yeterday we talked about diversity…how fucking Ironic.

  19. Jason330 says:

Speaking of Obama, I loved this “Grab a mop” sentiment from this afternoon.

Now, to the non-Democrats who may be watching today -– (laughter) -– I want everybody to know we believe in a strong and loyal opposition. I believe in a two-party system where ideas are tested and assumptions are challenged — because that’s how we can move this country forward. But what I reject is when some folks decide to sit on the sidelines and root for failure on health care or on energy or on our economy. (Applause.) What I reject is when some folks say we should go back to the past policies when it was those very same policies that got us into this mess in the first place. (Applause.)

Another way of putting it is when, you know, I’m busy and Nancy’s busy with our mop cleaning up somebody else’s mess –- we don’t want somebody sitting back saying, you’re not holding the mop the right way. (Applause.) Why don’t you grab a mop, why don’t you help clean up. (Applause.) You’re not mopping fast enough. (Laughter.) That’s a socialist mop. (Laughter and applause.) Grab a mop –- let’s get to work.

  20. donviti says:

    curious about one thing:

    Founder Jason Scott

why is Jason Scott thanking me? he isn’t with the blog anymore? Emailing him too about the decision? very odd comment.

But whatever, it is your blog now. enjoy the individuality you all bring.

  21. donviti says:

Another way of putting it is when, you know, I’m busy and Nancy’s busy with our mop cleaning up somebody else’s mess –- we don’t want somebody sitting back saying, you’re not holding the mop the right way. look at that shiny object while wall street rapes your dog….

  22. Jason330 says:

I’m not privy to any back story, but I look at it this way. There are diverse views in a court room. You have some people making an argument for “innocent” and some people making a case for “guilty.” But do you see people at the “innocent” table spending half the day trying to convince one of their members to support the “innocent” side?

    Of course not.

  23. Delaware Dem says:

No, Jason was not in on this decision, Donviti. He is not with the blog anymore and was not emailed about our discussions until the decision was made. Since he was the founder of DL, we did inform him of the decision, and of course you see him commenting on these threads. When he left back during the summer, he thanked you and everyone for your work. So I thought it would be a nice touch to add his name to this post.

But I am sure this will spawn a new conspiracy theory that you and Steve Newton and David Anderson and Nancy Willing can all fervently discuss.

  24. Jason330 says:

You and Matt Marshall should start a blog about dog rape or economics or something.

  25. donviti says:

good Idea. I will name the blog “I’m no quitter”

  26. donviti says:

So I thought it would be a nice touch to add his name to this post.

watch that individuality thing. It could get you kicked off of here if you get to far out of line.

  27. donviti says:

Since he was the founder of DL, we did inform him of the decision, and of course you see him commenting on these threads.

    hilarious.

  28. Delaware Dem says:

Given Mat’s opinion of Donviti recently expressed in Donviti’s post about Mat’s Facebook post, I doubt a pairing is in the offing.

But I actually, and seriously, suggest that Donviti pair up with Mike Matthews to form a new blog. Donviti did not work out there, but he does have good opinions that should be aired and Mike Matthews has been missed greatly as well.

  29. Delaware Dem says:

The blog could be called Fuck Everyone.

  30. Jason330 says:

True. But if he goes with Marshall he’ll have the advantage of starting out mad at each other, so the dynamic would not get poisoned over time.

  31. Delaware Dem says:

Yeah, but Donviti was pretty outraged that Mat decided to become a Democrat again, so he ridiculed him for it. With Matthews, who I believe is also an independent, it would be the perfect marriage.

  32. donviti says:

also, I just ask that nothing get’s deleted. I have some short stories about my son and ohter stuff that I want to grab.

    thanks.

  33. nemski says:

    DV, nothing is getting deleted.

  34. Delaware Dem says:

Yeah, DV, nothing will be deleted. You should be able to find everything in the archives, but if you have trouble let us know.

  35. John Young says:

Wow, what a day at DL. All this and I am still unexplained-ly banned…..

  36. Kilroy says:

Perhaps re: DL but fellow bloggers meaning “democrats?”

    Comment by donviti
“If there is one thing that people know of me is I put it all on the table my way.”

And that earns sincere respect! There were times you busted on me and that’s part of the big game and I respect people who can look me in the eye and say fuck you than those who wait until I walk way.

    Comment by Delaware Dem
“Since he was the founder of DL,”

No, Jason is DL you guys are just caretakers. Like Lisa Marie at Graceland.

I mean like come on DL you guys are great people but this is not CNN and just armature political analysis that don’t really move political mountains. No disrespect and it goes for all Delaware blogs. I think any elected official looking in is looking for a sense of consensus amount opinions. Tell, did anyone from DL get hired by Governor Markell or any other elected official?

I am not trying to insult anyone! Step back and look at the picture and you’ll see how petty it is. Just keep Donviti and keep moving on or did he hit a nerve of truth? Keep in mind he rode the Obama hope train just like me and he got fuck aka no job! I had a job when Bush was in office and 7 months into Obama after all the bullshit cash for clunkers my ass after 35 years in the same industry is out in the cold.

  37. Kilroy says:

    donviti

“also, I just ask that nothing get’s deleted. I have some short stories about my son and ohter stuff that I want to grab.”

I don’t think they are that low to delete all you post! But I say , work it out folks and move forward! Should Obama dump Biden because Biden says no more troops?

  38. Kilroy says:

I really don’t know who’s who just those amoung you that bring us Teflon but don’t you think Matt can fight his own battles? Matt does fine on his own.

  39. Delaware Dem says:

Yeah, and he did and can Kilroy. What, I cannot comment about it?

  40. anonone says:

    It’s Lulu’s revenge.

  41. John Tobin says:

I am not a trained diplomat, but in human interaction sometimes maybe things work out a little better if everything is not put on the table— for the sake of the relationship. Psycholigist Carol Gillgan has a whole book about the implications of stressing an issue over the relationships involved and raises some good issues about the implications of constantly “keeping it real”.
Just a theory, I could be wrong.

  42. Liberal blogs should be causing drama among wrong thinking conservatives by dousing them with the salty truth.

And, obviously, drinking the koolaid put out by the current crop of liberal leaders. At least Donviti was willing to call out your own side.

  43. Tom S says:

While you’re cleaning up, can you get you get our US Congress to meet more than 3 days a week…on second thought, it’s probably better they’re not. Can you get them to meet only 2 days a week?

  44. anon says:

Progressives are projecting a lot of their hopes onto Obama, and he may or may not come through with all of them. For progressives, Obama remains an enigma. I still have patience but I can’t blame Donviti if he doesn’t. I think the outcome of health care will smoke out Obama and nail down his true colors, so until then Obama has my support. There are more battles for progressives yet to come; remember the campaign pledge to let the Bush tax cuts expire on the rich but keep them for the middle class. One thing I will say is despite the lack of action on certain progressive issues, Obama does not seem to be aligned with the corporate wing of the Dems. That is a good sign. Time will tell though, sooner rather than later.

Obama has his work cut out for him, going up against Republicans and ConservaDems. Progressives need to keep flogging their issues, raise their voices, and throw their weight around. The pledge by the Progressive Caucus not to vote for a bill that doesn’t have a public option gives Obama a lot of cover to move to the left on health care.

But I think if you care about passing progressive bills, it is too early to give up on Obama, even if it is maddening right now.

  45. Kilroy says:

    Let me put in form fitting for the lynching of Donviti;

    Hey Donviti good luck!

  46. liberalgeek says:

Even in Russian, Kilroy is screwy… 🙂

    translation:

These are – the individual persons of the license of distributor, which makes you special and those generating cleaning the players of the license of distributor, because they drift from the extremely left, it is very sad. Donviti erases its emotions on its sleeve, and it appears, as if you say that it does not meet the professional standards of the license of distributor. Although the extremely left and distant right the opposite political ideas have, I fear to speak, mentality – completely the same.

I’m just glad it isn’t spam for Viagra.

  47. DV,

Feel free to trash me in print any time you want. I don’t take it personally. I still love you!

    Kilroy,

I find you amusing but if you’re so upset with the blog you’re free not to read it.

  48. This sounds like bullshit to me. Everyone will be under the assumption that DV was forced out however much that might edge the truth or not. PATHETIC. Spigot. Full. Throttle. Bullshit

“He had no respect for his fellow bloggers or Delaware Liberal as a blog. That is why he is gone.”

This is weak folks, and it makes you all who are left here look like the worst sorts of cop outs. This is a sad day for the intertubes and for the credibility of this blog.

RESPECT is EARNED not demanded by fiat.

“I find you amusing but if you’re so upset with the blog you’re free not to read it.”

What you are saying is if you can’t comment to stoke DL views then leave. Same went for Donviti.

If you loved DV then you should support him and work it out and just all move forward. Kind of like Obama with the Republicans, LOL

  51. Thanks for the mind-reading Kilroy, but what I’m saying is that routinely come here to comment about how terrible we all are. All I’m saying is we’re not forcing you to read.

  52. Hint to DL: people don’t come here to read the copy and paste. They come to read the cat fights. Expelling a rude kid with an abrasive personality puts you in the principle’s seat of one shitty institution. The new rehabilitation is to work with those who find fault and kill them with love.

Self-defining what is acceptable personality and humor? Why don’t rather you let your readers vote whether to let DV keep his keys?

    THREAD OVER. NOT!

  53. Progressive Mom says:

“…but what I’m saying is that routinely come here to comment about how terrible we all are. ”

That is the sole reason for some people who come here. I find it fun. My children aren’t young enough any more for temper tantrums, so it reminds me of my younger days with them. (And much of this recent discussion on who blogs and why reminds me of the “you are not the boss of me!” days, too.)

It also reminds me of another reason why I’m not a conservative.

  54. Joanne Christian says:

    Dear Jason and Hef,

I missed the first blow-up. And the second elimination is over my head. But you two are welcome to my “Halfway House” anytime. We eat dinner late–you know sports, and band practice stuff. But we eat, go over things, squabble, talk, plan, get to work, fold laundry, finish up, and then snuggle in for a hopefully restful night’s sleep–because that alarm is off at 5:15. We even have a “field trip”planned for the Phillies on Monday night! One private room left, and then bunks. Oh–no electronics past 9pm. I’ll let you older guys slide until 10. Time to ponder. Respite and re-entry. Call for directions. 2010 is just around the corner you two!!!! Your big tent needs some mending–or everyone will huddle to the middle–not such a bad thing–but progressive?
I miss Jason’s headlines ( he could’ve written for the Daily News)
    I will miss DV’s QOD
Oh, yea–most insurance plans accepted 🙂
    Love you guys……

No charge for the mind reading 🙂 I tarrot card also, 🙂
You guys are great and surely you love debate. My point with Donviti is you knew what you were getting when bringing him on board and he’s a wild card. From what I see “Hope” and “Change” didn’t do him any good and he is pissed! I bought the Hope and Change and jumped ship to support it and now I am in the same bot as Donviti but I don’t fully blame Obama for the economy by do for pissing money away on cash for clunkers and giving Arne Duncan 6 billion dollars to buy federal control of local public schools.

Just saying patch things up and move forward and that’s from one of your loyal readers.

  56. Dana Garrett says:

Take it from one who has learned the lesson the hard way, one who has done his fair share of alienating through blogging: it is far more important to be related than to be right (correct). Relationships can last for a lifetime, but what’s correct (think policy) can often (not always) vary over time given the vagaries of changing circumstances and need.

Without taking a side (and I really have no opinion about it), I am sorry to hear about this development on DL. There are many fine writers on DL and DV was one of them. I will miss him and I will continue to read DL.

  57. Kilroy says:

“I will miss him and I will continue to read DL.”

Same here and though Donviti took some shots at me in the past and I am sure in the future but the point is there is a human side to all of this. Blogging is entertianing imformative and a real public soapbox for all. DL as well as all local blogs a speck of dust in comparison to the media world and pretty much irrelevant.

It not a matter of giving Donviti another chance or him kissing your ass to stay it about shit happen and the best of organizations have flaws but doesn’t mean the have faults. Why should I even give a shit!

Just remember blogs are entertainment and sometime the clowns need to take the center ring.

  58. Delaware Dem says:

Nancy, you are criticizing us for copy and paste? HAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That is irony at its finest.

  59. Delaware Dem says:

I like Jason and Donviti personally. Indeed, none of us voted out Jason, he left on his own, and I hope eventually he will come back. With Donviti, while we could not work together anymore, I still like him personally and hope eventually after this ugliness passes that we can be friends again.

Dam! Friends again???? You let this little rift cause a breakup of a friendship? I got pissed at my former boss of nearly 30 years and quit but still are best of friends. Even the employer of 2 year who laid me off becuase of the economy. You know sometimes people are hurting inside and often hurt others through their expressions.

Dam I am a real fool! I trashed the shit out the president of Red Clay school board way beyond the issues and went too personal. I called him and apologize then again at a school board meeting in front of the public and media. But I still oppose many of his position.

Patch it up now even for the sake of the friendship! Never let you ego get bigger than you pride.

I am out of hear folks ! This drama is taking too much time away from my work trashing Arne Duncan.

  61. Nancy, you are criticizing us for copy and paste?

    *
Was that what I was doing, DD?
    YEESH.
This is your over-driven and unfortunately typical blindsidedness at its worse – and it’s exactly what enabled ‘the pack’ here to gang up on one of your most creative and interesting contributors: You either willfully or stupidly miss the point so much of the time.

The pack mentality. Nice. Echo chamber by right.

  62. Delaware Dem says:

Yes, I assume when you say this:

Hint to DL: people don’t come here to read the copy and paste.

You are criticizing us for having copy and paste posts. Forgive me, as I am sure my overdriven and unfortunately typical blindsidedness has led me to read the correct meaning into your words. Surely you meant something else, right?

  66. Geezer says:

I will miss DV, but there are people I’ve talked to who considered him a distraction. Readers are different, just like posters.

  67. anon, since your reading comprehension is ‘below par’ let me catch you up. Cut and paste is what everyone does. That was not the critique point.

The critique was that the challenge to the echo chamber was DV and he was good at it and interesting as was Jason when he was on a particularly creative bent. (I was joking about the cat fighting)

None of the current writers comes close to that kind of creative writing.

As to claims that this is a move toward more of a party voice, who can forget the first time that DV was threatened here? The word was that DD and other insiders were told that more DEM pols would read / contribute / give access if DLers were more civil and played nice with the HIGH DEMs. I certainly can’t forget that post and discourse – not that it is evident here.

  68. Hey, is this thing gonna work like “Survivor”, and we get to vote someone back into the fold?

    *

Who knows, maybe you can apply your abundent charm and sense of fair play 🙂

  69. Since the best assumption of why DV was summarily ousted last night is that neither Cass nor, LG nor DD seem to be able to TAKE ONE WHIT OF CRITICISM, I will repeat:

My critique was not that blogs cut and paste. That was a literary artifact I employed in order to get to my point that people love to be entertained by the infighting here.

  70. anon says:

Just so people know this is not a “critique” from the local I.F. Stone.

  72. nemski says:

Nancy wrote . . . .why DV was summarily ousted last night is that neither Cass nor, LG nor DD seem to be able to TAKE ONE WHIT OF CRITICISM,. . . .

Damn, Nancy found us out. Jebus, we’re criticized ALL the time. And, if getting rid of DV was going to stop us from being criticized by him, I think we would have to be pretty stupid.

  73. Progressive Mom says:

Mark H. — I’ll take you up on that. Until 13; then I’m throwing Your Little One back!!

Nancy Willing — Some of us are not “entertained by the infighting here.” I’ll say the same thing I said/thought the last two times: it’s like walking into a junior high cafeteria. I have no idea what’s going on or why, I just want it to stop. (Which is why I only want Mark H.’s Little One until 13!)

  74. uhmmm, whatever. Try not to embarrass yourself too much, anony.

Anyway, I wasn’t aware that my blog was the subject here.

I am not trying to be ‘the biggest baddest blog in town’ or I would have asked Jason for a set of the keys a few years ago here. Like all these people did. I have no interest in being in a group blog. It’s enough to interact in the comments of DL or Eschaton where I spend most of my time online.

I keep a record of things I deem to be important on my blog. It is a resource of what’s broadly going on in the progressive world nationally and a way for locals to post their news. I would challenge you to find the people who read my blog who don’t want updates on what’s going on around the state.

Who else talks about NCC crtically? Who else gives Frieda an avenue? Or Bennett or Deaver? Or posts the cultural heritage goings-on from Kim Burdick? And who else gives the Governor and Lt. Gov. a clean bill to post their activities and successes? I like to do those things as a service to Delawareans and that’s what my readers come to DE Way to read. D’OH!!

Your blog is still not the subject here. The subject here is your standing on being able to judge “creativity”. You are free to judge what you want. And we are free to note that your expertise in the subject is pretty slim.

  76. PM, I hope you don’t agree that chucking DV is a satisfactory way for ‘it to just stop’? (say, if you had input, would you have voted him off?)

The people here who couldn’t take DV were those who always seem to be spoiling for a fight while smugly wrapped up in their own bent (DD particularly is a terrible judge of peripheral or even blatant intention. If he can find the least sidebar to fuss over, all else is ignored. What is surprising is how nice he is in person. One would think he was ready to eat a person alive from his writing).

  77. Good comeback Cassy. WHOOT. I am pretty sure that anony was making my blog the subject. But then ignore intention as ye be wont.

  78. cassandra_m says:

Anon used way fewer words to say exactly what I did. But for the record — your blog is never the subject here, OK?

  79. I have made this distinction before as far as style and creativity: there is the camp of bloggers who like DKos vs the camp who prefer Eschaton.

You guys left over here are Kossites through and through. Useful and thorough, entertaining but not offbeat. And not one heck of a lot of a sense of humor. (‘Bulo being in a class all of his own).

    Cass, there you go again.

Did you grow up with a lot of MAMMA CASS jokes?

    Thread over!!!!!!!!

    Not.

    Control freak much?

  80. cassandra_m says:

Hey thanks, on behalf of the one or two of our readers who may have found that interesting.

Heh, Mama Cass jokes huh? If this is what counts as creative to you, then you’ll understand why paying your criticism no mind is exactly what is on offer here.

Regrettable. Don, if you see this, be sure to drop into CSPT and tell us where you’re going to be blogging now and what you’re doing.

  82. I think we all know now that I’m the Yoko Ono of DL and my ego is so large that we had to get rid of two people just to accomodate it. I’m sorry I got testy with Kilroy, I was in a bad mood this morning. I’m better now.

  83. nemski says:

Does that make Jason330, Pete Best?

Way to put words in a person’s, um, post!

Also, you didn’t quote me accurately. I said, “I just want it to stop” where “just” means I-alone or I-merely. By transposing the word just, you changed my meaning to stop it-merely or stop it at all costs. Which isn’t what I said.

I’ve got no dog in this fight, Nancy. And using passive-aggressive language like “I hope you don’t agree that” won’t make me pick a side. I don’t even understand what the sides are; I don’t know who’s in whose clique; I don’t know where the popular table is and I’m not looking for it.

More succinctly, I don’t give a damn who goes and who stays.

And, since I don’t see the entertainment value in all this, I’m not getting pulled onto the stage.

the writers here at DL are acting like they own the world and only their views are the correct views. I come here and read all the time and when I see conflict like this, it is usually because someone disagrees with the ones who run the show. What are debates for? Hope you find a place that can accept both sides and deal with reality Donviti. I enjoyed your writings.

They do own this piece of the cyber world and that’s fine. The conflicts are entertaining but they perfer it not be about team DL. I wouldn’t want them any other way. Hopefully when the election kicks in all this downtime activity will shape up into substance.

Donviti is the subject and the George Bush mentality, my way or the highway is unfortunate. The big difference is Bush’s action cost human lives and DL’s only friendships.

Well, that couldn’t have been posted by Kilroy. Only one typo in three sentences! 😉

Not reading Donviti here sucks, nothing against any of you though. Like he said he laid it out there. He will be missed. This place won’t be the same without him.

    Sure it will!
Ms. antiquark (UI) is strong and the fundamental forces at DL are stable. DV was one too many bottom quarks but my guess he was a pentaquark 1540 MeV/c2 and too overwhelming for Ms. antiquark.

Hey UI, I quess Kilroy could be classified as a strange antiquark 🙂
