Sometimes there is just a lot of stuff out there that you want to talk about…. and not enough time to do 10 posts…..

Mary Cheney is pregnant, and conservatives are not happy at all. You know, I will give up one thing to Dick Cheney: his love for his daughter made him realize that not only are gays human beings too, but they deserve the same rights we heterosexuals have. Indeed, Dick Cheney is more progressive on the issue of gay marriage than President Obama.

Uh oh. There are 1.57 billion Muslims in the world! That is nearly 1/4 of the world’s population. It is surprising, however, that the overwhelming majority of Muslims live in places other than the Middle East, like India, Indonesia, China and Europe. I love watching the right wing freak out over Muslims. It reveals them to be the true bigots they are.

Delaware has maintained its Triple A Bond rating, the highest credit rating, which denotes confidence in Delaware’s ability to repay its debt, and allows the state to secure low interest rates. Governor Markell credited his administration and the General Assembly for making “the tough choices to responsibly solve last year’s historic budget challenge,” saying that those decisions are paying off now. More tough choices lie ahead, and it is not time to rest on our laurels.

Beau Biden for Senate buttons are being sold on eBay. They look amateurish, not unlike something Cafepress would put out. I highly doubt these are official.

While this Delaware Politics post is satirical, it got me thinking….. Dave Burris for Congress. A Burris-Carney showdown would be spectactular.

You live by the gun you die by the gun.

The Republican Party is now objectively in favor of gang rape.

And by “spectacular”, you mean Burris would be crushed…

  2. Delaware Dem says:

Yes, but his defeat would be so entertaining.

“You live by the gun you die by the gun”

When this story first came out about the mom who openly wore a gun to a youth soccer game, the wingnuts went all out defending her. Well, we already had the conversation about open carry, so I don’t want to start that all over again.

My question today for the wingnuts is:

How come you couldn’t smell the crazy on this woman, and we (and the local sheriff) could?

  4. liberalgeek says:

Hmmm. What is unclear in the report about the gun-toting Mom is whether she was the murder victim or the suicider.

Probably best to hold your fire on “crazy” until all (or at least some) of the facts are in.

  5. Another quick hit:

Levi Johnston is going to pose nude for Playgirl.

I’ll have to admit to finding the Palin/Johnston feud quite entertaining.

  6. liberalgeek says:

I think it is disgusting that women only see Johnston for his body and not his mind! I mean… hmmm… OK, bad example. Nevermind.

Agreed after a second reading of the story. I still like my question though. I thought she was crazy for bringing a gun to the soccer game and suing the sheriff.

  8. liberalgeek says:

True, but it may be a different kind of crazy.

  9. Delaware Dem says:

    Geek–

I was not commenting on the woman’s political views. My only statement is “you live by the gun you die by gun.” Whether she took her own life or was killed by a gun, or whether she was crazy or not, my statement seems to be pretty true.

  10. liberalgeek says:

Perhaps. I was not suggesting that you had an ax to grind, just that anon’s question to wingnuts was ill-conceived.

Either way, there are some kids whose parents are both dead. Sad.

Per that article, they were also inside the house when it happened. How effing horrible.

  12. anon says:

Jerry Brown has an early lead for CA Gov, as do all the potential Dems:

Bet California opts in to public health insurance.

  13. John Manifold says:

TAP reminds us of the disaster that was the Jerry Brown administration:

    http://www.prospect.org/cs/articles?article=see_jerry_run_again

  14. anon says:

The article’s argument against Jerry Brown is basically that his fiscal austerity created a surplus that energized the Prop 13 supporters, and if he had just spent more money Prop 13 would never have passed. I’m not sure that will be a negative in California. It appears not to be.

  15. John Manifold says:

That is indeed one of author Mathews’ points, but there are others. Brown’s rhetoric, intellectual laziness [the late magazine New Times coined the term “buzz word” to describe Brown’s meaningless verbal meanderings], and frankly, political cowardice, made him an enabler of the Reagan state.

Brown seemed like a groovy guy in his first year as governor. He won a string of primaries down the stretch in ’76, but after a complete cycle in office, his appeal evaporated. I believe he earned one (1) delegate in his second run for president in 1980, was thumped when trying to migrate to the Senate in ’82, then made a perfect ass of himself in his return to the presidential trail in ’92, where the highlight of his campaign was inane nattering about Hillary, prompting her husband to threaten to pop him in a South Dakota debate.
