Late Night Video — Autotuning Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking
There is something oddly fitting about this autotuned tribute to Dr. Sagan. You wonder what the point of it is, but here is an exuberant remix of the words of one man whose exuberant sense of wonder and delight in the world and the stars just charmed you right into sharing that wonder and delight.
Keith Olbermann’s Special Comment on Health Care
Keith Olbermann did an hour-long Special Comment last night on health care reform. It’s quite the blockbuster. Part 1: Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy Part 2: Part 3: Part 4: Part 5:
Radioactive Rabbit Tirds
In late September, a helicopter hovered 50 feet above the Hanford nuclear reservation, methodically hunting almost 16 square miles for radioactive poop that critters with a taste for salt spread. Nevada-based National Security Technologies did the helicopter survey for $300,000 in federal stimulus money sent to Hanford.
No Good Deed Goes Unpunished
Ah, Joe Lieberman – the right’s favorite Independent Democrat. You know, the Joe Lieberman who went around campaigning for McCain/Palin saying that Obama did not have the proper experience for the job of president. Do you remember in January, when there was a push by the left to remove Joe Lieberman’s chairmanship and Obama intervened […]
Thursday Open Thread
Yadda, yadda, yadda. Last week we brought you the story of National Review writer John Derbyshire, who has written a whole chapter in his new book about how women should not have the right to vote. He’s definitely not backing off in his contention and now he’s explaining his logic further – women don’t vote […]
QOTD
One of the things I did while I was out of work for 6 months was cut off my cable. I had a newborn son I was caring for and not having the TV was hardly missed. I read a lot and thanks to Cassandra I read “Infite Jest” for 6 weeks of my unemployment. […]
Opt-Out Public Option
When I first heard of the plan to allow states (Red States) to opt-out of the Public Option my initial response was let them. Kinda the same reaction I had to the threats of Texas seceding. It is past time to call these obstructionists on their empty rhetoric. Let them Go Galt. A diary on […]
Quick Hits
Beau Biden for Senate buttons are being sold on eBay. They look amateurish, not unlike something Cafepress would put out. I highly doubt these are official.
While this Delaware Politics post is satirical, it got me thinking….. Dave Burris for Congress. A Burris-Carney showdown would be spectactular.
LMAO
Bwahahahahaha! *breathe* bwahahahahahaha! Conservative bloggers are so silly. They got punked by Bill Ayers (as proved by our very own troll, RICO, in yesterday’s Open Thread). Here’s what happened: A conservative blogger by the name of Anne Leary ran into Ayers buying coffee in an airport. Recognizing him, she started talking to him in what […]
Biden Watch, Day Three
If Biden were to run, I have said before his model for the campaign would be Carper v. Roth or Obama v. McCain, respectful of the elder opponent’s long service but critical of his failed ideas of the past. That is a civilized race. However, when Castle says it, you get the feeling a “civilized race” to him would be no criticism of his record at all, and if there is criticism of him, it would be the worst negative attack in the history of politics. That is why I want Biden to run, because Castle deserves criticism for his long running arrogance.
