Tell us what’s on your mind. We promise we won’t tell anyone else.

Pitcher and wingnut Curt Schilling is contemplating running for the open Massachusetts senate seat, although he may not be eligible to run as a Republican.

Will Texas admit that it executed an innocent man? This is a truly heart-breaking story. Not just the initial tragedy – but all the missed opportunities to do justice for this wrongly imprisoned man.

Shorter David Broder: the laws only apply to the little people.

The stimulus is working.

Updated: Oh, yeah. Levi Johnston dishes dirt on Sarah Palin. According to Levi, Palin doesn’t hunt, fish, camp or know how to shoot a gun.

“My hope is that we’re past that, that we’re past the whole R and D thing,” he said when asked how a Republican could win a statewide race in blue Massachusetts.

“My hope is that we understand now more than ever that we’re in a place where we need to put the good people above all else,” he said. “People without ties to special interests, people with integrity and ethics and ‘Country First’ values in office, regardless of the letter than preceeds their name.”

    ……

    yeah, what a wingnut…

  2. Schiller is an Ann Coulter fan.

Of course, Ann Coulter has only fantasized about killing Justice Stevens, everyone in the New York Times building and everyone in the Middle East. The only people I’ve seen Beck want to kill are Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Rangel. O’Reilly just wants to kill everyone in San Francisco.

  3. From the linked politico part on Schilling:

And reading into the NECN interview, it didn’t sound like he was all that serious about running but surely liked to see his name out there in print.

No doubt. As a devout Phillies fan, I can remember thinking he was somewhat of a pompous bit## about half-way into the 1993 season. I remember debating some others before then by defending the guy, but after a while, it was easy to see their point.

The bloody sock was food dye, damn it!!! I kid, I kid.

  4. Delaware Dem says:

I have never liked Schilling. He was an ass in a Phillies uniform and never missed an opportunity to trash the city and its fans. And I didn’t even know he was a Republican until 2004.

  5. Mark H says:

But, and here’s the important thing…He broke the curse!!! And really DD, you have anything to do with anyone winning a World Series?? Didn’t think so.

  6. h. says:

He had fake blood on his sock for christ’s sake. Talk about an EGO. He’d make a fine politician.

DougJ at Baloon Juice wants to remind Schilling that:

when Republican Senators talk about “pitching” and “catching”, they may not be talking about baseball.

He can’t run he is a registered IND>

    The Washington Times ^ | Thursday, September 3, 2009 | Amanda Carpenter
President Obama’s “green jobs czar” Van Jones is apologizing for the second time in two days, this time for signing a 2004 petition for an organization that seeks to expose the “official lies and cover-up surrounding the events of 9/11.” This comes after a video that recently surfaced in which Mr. Jones called Republicans a disparaging name at an energy lecture in Berkeley, California last February. He apologized for doing that on Wednesday…. Mike Berger, a spokesman for 911Truth.org, told the Washington Times over the phone Thursday morning all of the signers had been verified by their group. He said…

  10. G Rex says:

Schilling is ineligible to be Senator for Massachussetts because he’s actually held a job. Granted, that job was playing a game, but it still beats inheriting Daddy’s rum-running money or marrying a ketchup heiress. What did Henry Cabot-Lodge do for a living? I forget. Oh, and when are they re-naming New Fenway Park after Teddy? I’m burning my Sox hat.

  11. anoni says:

how long until Van Jones goes under the bus?

“This is not the Van Jones I knew”

  12. Delaware Republican says:

I wonder if any one of the self promoting tough guys at DL could do this?

Doubtful, it is better to blame the fire on Republicans or even better Reagan. I mean he used to be Governor of California 35 years ago. It has to be his fault.

  13. pandora says:

God, you’re an idiot, Mike. BTW, still waiting for that link on the Brandywine School District. Put up, or shut up, fly boy.

  14. anoni says:

    less than 24 hours

the wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round…

Van Jones was forced to resign Saturday.

One less Communist in the Whitehouse, one more friend of Obama under the bus.

Activists Topple Towers, Claim Dangers of AM Radio Waves (The Earth Liberation Front)
    CNN ^ | 9/4/2009 | CNN

A group cited by U.S. officials as a domestic terrorism threat claimed responsibility Friday for knocking down two radio station towers in Snohomish County, Washington. Much of the tower system, owned by radio station KRKO, was “flattened like a pancake,” the manager said.

Much of the tower system, owned by radio station KRKO, was “flattened like a pancake,” the manager said.

The Earth Liberation Front (ELF) issued a statement saying opponents of the towers argue that “AM radio waves cause adverse health effects including a higher rate of cancer, harm to wildlife, and that the signals have been interfering with home phone and intercom lines.”

“When all legal channels of opposition have been exhausted, concerned citizens have to take action into their own hands to protect life and the planet,” Jason Crawford, a spokesman for the group, said in a news release.

Members of ELF have been sentenced for acts of domestic terrorism in the past.

    ……

An AM radio station in Allentown, Pennsylvania was targeted also. A tower was toppled Friday according to sister radio station WHP in Harrisburg yesterday.

WAEB is owned by Clear Channel and carries Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh.
