I’m more troubled by the one-size-fits-all, this-is-how-you-must-behave aspects of the post. I grew up in a place that was had those rigid gender boundaries and I found it extremely stifling. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being modest or non-vulgar but the Townhall post is coming close to the men and women are different species type of thinking that bothers me.

I’m late to this…I cannot keep up these past 2 weeks w/ sending everyone back to school. FWIW–you totally miss the whole “lady” thing. Like a gentleman, it’s all about discretion. So while you may think it’s an uptight puritannical boundary issue of “Sex in the City” vs. “A Day in the Life of a Shaker”–it’s more of a call on the carriage of behavior, display of indiscretions, and public vulgarity. The “ladies” are having fun too, don’t need to be campy about things, and have an easier time “cleaning up”. Just like our gentleman brothers, who don’t have to be cads or mashers, and maintain tons of fun without the branding of gigolo–just because discretion, not dilettantism was the choice employed. Perception.

I’m impressed meatball and h. that you could get through that comment. I started guffawing at 40% of children are not related to their family by DNA. Really? That’s an interesting trick for them not to be related to their own birth mothers at least. I doubt 40% of children are made by egg donation. Every lunch invitation leads to sexual contact? Where is he eating lunch? Mine are pretty boring in comparison.
