I guess he won’t be running over anybody with his car anymore. I wonder how many people were killed because of his outing of Valerie Plame?

  2. damn, and I was going to try and hold off for a few hours.

    Well done Anon1, well done!

I assume he had good health care

There was a time — many, many years ago — that Novak’s column was a must-read, full of inside info, interesting detail and some thoughtfulness. Unfortunately, it drifted into stenography and cheerleading for the Republic party and finally ended with treason.

  4. I believe his car/pedestrian accident was caused by his cancer. I think I read that was actually how he was diagnosed.

Sorry anonone, but the time immediately after someone’s death is probably a bit too soon to start making jokes. And people wonder why the internets have a bad name.

  6. nemski says:

Good riddance. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way to Hell.

Novak was just another “insider” dishing bullshit propaganda as “reporting”. He cared more about getting into Georgetown parties than informing the public. I said the same thing when Tim Russert croaked. If you are a journalist and you die and pundits and pols left, right and center sing the praises of how wonderful you were… you were an abject failure.

He was just another star fucker with an agenda in the media industrial machine. Fuck him and fuck his memory. Same goes for Russert… because I’m equal opportunity.

I wonder how long it will take Dick Cheney to tell us he was a “fine man”

  11. Sorry, but Novak was a total prick. Here’s what he most recently said about Valerie Plame:

“Now I’m much less ambivalent. I’d go full speed ahead because of the hateful and beastly way in which my left-wing critics in the press and Congress tried to make a political affair out of it and tried to ruin me. My response now is this: The hell with you. They didn’t ruin me. I have my faith, my family, and a good life. A lot of people love me–or like me. So they failed. I would do the same thing over again because I don’t think I hurt Valerie Plame whatsoever.”

Got it? He outed a CIA agent, but it was justified b/c of the way he was treated AFTER he outed her. Poor Petite Prince of Darkness, did the mean nasty liberals hurt your feelings?

I stand by my comment above. Let’s not needlessly turn this into a partisan thing. This is a “journalist delusion” thing. It’s about paybacks and power and climbing the corporate ladders. It’s about having access to the right people and the parties and the free booze. It’s about being in the spotlight while pretending to inform the public with your bullshit that fits neatly into the propaganda model.

If the powerful and the privileged remember you so fondly, you weren’t a journalist you were a star fucking, lime-light seeking, hack. The left is also filled with these people. The delusion doesn’t discriminate. Chris Matthews and Tim Russert come quickly to mind. As do Peggy Noonan and George Will. All fucking worthless, living or dead, couldn’t care less.

I feel a whole lot different hearing that Novack died than I did when I heard Cronkite died. Nuff said.

“My only regret is he cannot die again.”
