Damon Weaver Interviews President Obama

Filed in National by on August 14, 2009

This is an impressive interview — Damon Weaver is a 6th grader from a school in Florida whose claim to fame before now was his delightful interview with then Senator Biden — finally gets to interview the President. I thought many of his questions were smarter and more interesting than many I’ve heard at a WH Press Conference. Someone should teach this young man how to press for answers, because I think that some of President Obama’s answers didn’t do this young man’s questions justice. Take a look:

Politico interviewed Damon Weaver after his interview:

What a great young man!

How great is that? The kid was awesome and I have to say that I love Barack Obama.

  2. callerRick says:

    I love Barack Obama.

The American people don’t. See the polls.

    Wave bye-bye, Mr.one-and-done.

    Thanks for ’10.

    Keep dreaming teabag.

(did somebody say “polls”? I have been summoned!)

Sounds like callerDick’s been smoking a little Rasmussen, the tenth dentist of presidential approval polls. Rasmussen constantly had Dubya’s approval rating in the 40’s when every other pollster had him at 30 or below.

    Gallup: 54% approve, 39% disapprove (8/11-8/13)
    FOX: 53% approve, 40% disapprove (8/11-8/12)
    Rasmussen: 48% approve, 52% disapprove (8/11-8/13)
    Research2000: 60% favorable, 36% favorable (8/10-8/13)

    Republican or Democrat or Independent?

    YouGov/Polimetrix 8/9-11/09 25R 36D 29I
    Ipsos/McClatchy 7/30-8/3/09 22R 35D 44I
    Rasmussen 7/1-31/09 33R 37D 30I
    Time 7/27-28/09 23R 34D 32I 11unsure

And remember, Research 2000 polled John Boehner’s approval at 11% and congressional republicans at 10%. America may be feeling a bit more ambivalent about Obama, but almost all of us detest the lying fuckwits that Republicans elected to congress.
