I’ll be at a party tonight where we plan to watch some of the Eagles’ first pre-season game (probably will ditch it once the 4th and 5th stringers start coming in).

After that it’s time to play some drunken Wii, bitches!

So while I might watch some of the actual Olympic events, I could care less about the opening ceremony.

  2. J. Lyman says:

    No.

  3. pandora says:

    Me either.

Thanks for relieving my guilt! 🙂

  4. Joe M says:

    Nope. No interest.

  5. G Rex says:

Nope. There’s nothing more brain-squeezingly dull than a Chinese “gala event.” It’s like an Up With People halftime show on a magnitude of 10. Besides, the only summer event worth watching is soccer.

  6. edisonkitty says:

    No.

  7. Von Cracker says:

I’ll check out for little bit (like 5 minutes) just to see the stadium, that and in HD it’ll be eye candy.

  8. Unstable Isotope says:

I tried. The parts I saw looked really cool, but I drank some alcohol and fell asleep for most of it (I guess I’m getting old).

There was a part that showed Bush and Putin in very intense discussion during the ceremony and the commentators said that they must be talking about the ceremony. Uh, perhaps they were talking about Georgia?

  9. Unstable Isotope says:

It seems like I missed out…McCain aired one of his attack ads during the opening ceremony. Apparently it was when the American contingent was marching into the stadium.

  10. Merkin says:

Yep, the ads were great, tightly trimmed and pointed.

    Money well spent.

I thought I was…ended up outside picnic-ing with the kids for a beautiful, balmy, summer evening, with no bugs and the juiciest watermelon of the season. Husband surprised me he was in no hurry to return and see–we are jointly alarmed at the poor air quality of the venue, and the manipulations to downplay it.
