Sarah Palin – She’s Back With 200% More Lies

Filed in National by on August 8, 2009

After a couple weeks of silence, Sarah Palin is back. She put a posting on her Facebook page about health care reform, and it’s a doozy.

In a new posting on her Facebook account, former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) made a dire statement about health care reform — that it could result in an Obama-created “death panel” killing her infant son with Down Syndrome:

The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

So, now, not only does Barack Obama want to kill your grandma, he also wants to kill Trig Palin. So, will the media cover this as a he said, she said story or will they finally start doing some real fact-checking and pushback. I can not believe the irresponsibility of Sarah Palin on this one.

It’s irresponsible statements by politicians like Sarah Palin that are going to lead to violence. In fact, some protestors are already planning violence.

Based on the news that health care events are edging into violence, an anti-health care reform protester in New Mexico named Scott Oskay is calling on his hundreds of online followers to bring firearms to town halls, and to ‘badly hurt’ SEIU and ACORN counter protesters.

Update: Watch this video of Rachel Maddow’s interview with Frank Schaeffer. Schaeffer is one of the original founders of the religious right who has now repudiated the movement. He says people like Beck and the astroturf groups are basically putting a loaded gun on the table and calling for assassination. He thinks that certain “white middle-aged men” (his words) have suffered a mental collapse.

Sarah Palin responsible for violence…this is way beyond liberal-speak.

oh, you must be talking Rozanna Danna…”What’s all this fuss about Mob Violins. Shouldn’t we be able to play violins in groups? I like more than one violin playing at a time…never mind.”

  2. anon says:

See, this is how the right wing incitement to violence works: Make up a lie that attributes something evil to your opponent. Euthanasia, denial of care, tyranny – whatever.

The main thing is, you have to accuse them of something evil, that has some moral historical justification for applying capital punishment. Then you wrap yourself in those exact historical trappings (i.e., violent resistance to tyranny).

Then, express pretend bafflement that some wackos thought you were serious, and went after your opponents with real violence based on your lies.

  3. Delaware Republican says:

To quote the President, you are acting stupidly.

    Pretty typical and pretty sad.

    Sarah Palin laughs at you.

  5. Ya gotta love those talkin' points says:

But what did cut-and-run Palin say that was accurate? Mentally incompetent people often laugh for no reason.

Notice that I didn’t call Palin mentally incompetent. Although I’ve heard it said that she is.

  6. I suggest that whenever a Republican or a Deather makes a claim about what’s in the bill, we need to challenge them to provide proof: which bill, what section and what page. Not whatever you heard Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin say.

  7. pandora says:

Geez, for a woman constantly whining about the media using her children (and demanding they leave them alone) she has no problem pimping them out for her own purposes.

  8. Progressive Mom says:

Has anyone asked Palin if she is going to apply/has applied for SSI and Medicaid for Trig? Thanks to the government, he is eligible for full health care benefits and, beginning at age 18 (and even if he’s still living with her) a monthly income for the rest of his life. He also is eligible for special public-supported benefits in Alaska and most other states, such as special job training, housing and transportation, and a personal assistant, free of change.

But, hey, we don’t want to provide health care to anyone else — just Trig, right?

  9. Sarah Palin is following the “screw you I’ve got mine” approach to health care.

  10. I wish I had a retarded prop baby at my disposal like she does.

  11. Mark H says:

As a parent of an autistic child myself, I now dub viti Delaware’s Most Asinine Blogger.

  12. Von Cracker says:

    she’s such a whore.

    and i don’t mean sexually.

family’s off-limits, unless needed to score a political point. pimping her kid’s retardation, no less!

  13. Excuse me while I make a wholly sexist, off-color comment that generally wouldn’t come from my mouth (or keyboard):

    “This bitch is crazy.”

  14. Mark,

And you from now on will be known as Coupon Avenger. Suit yourself Mr. Sensitive I could give a shit. If you are offended then your are an idiot, but based on what your blog content consists of, I don’t think I need to tell you that. I didn’t call your kid a retard. In fact is autism even a form of retardation? (does that word hurt your feelings?)

Or, are you just looking for something to be offended over because I made fun of a media whore that uses her children as props and tries to say her kids are off limits at the same time. Especially POS quitter that uses her down syndrome child as a sick example of what could happen (but wouldn’t) under Obama’s policies. And after reading the post and comments….You single me OUT?

OMG I called her retarded kid, retarded! HOLY COW! The kid that got passed back and forth like a stage prop during the Republican convention. Stop the pressessssssss!!!!!

I now have called all autistic kids retarded too? and upset the fragile and off-base Coupon man.

I’m sorry. Tell your kid your sorry too…for calling him retarded.

    idiot.

  15. Mark H says:

At least I’m not scared when some one outs me. You know what, since you seem to give a shit so much about what’s on my blog, maybe my next post will be how much of an ass you are.

  16. liberalgeek says:

Donviti must’ve drank his lunch again today.

  17. I know how much of an ass I am. If you want to waste the time to educate your readers, all 3 of them go the fuck ahead. I ask that you not use my real name of course as it is sort of a code among men and bloggers. Even comic book reading, coupon clipping reading ultra sensitive one like you…

  18. liberalgeek says:

Donviti, must you be a dick? If you plan to use derogatory words to describe other people, don’t get all pissy when they call you on it. Man up and say that you are sorry that he was offended by your label.

In case you haven’t noticed, the term retard has been relegated to the same place where the words cripple and mongoloid went. I am sure that you feel uninhibited to use those words, but trying to defend them makes you look like an ass.

  19. Von Cracker says:

Wait a second. I call bullshit on that, LG.

I think the word ‘retard’ (and other derivatives) is more akin to midget and dwarf. Some may want to use ‘little people’, but come on, who are you fooling?

  20. liberalgeek says:

No, that is not the case, VC. As someone who worked with autistic children for almost a decade, I would know. The fact that Mark responded the way he did can act as a second opinion, if you would like.

  21. Here’s where I stand. The word “retard” or any variants therein do not offend me. However, I understand and can respect when someone is offended and calls the person out who uses it. What’s totally ridiculous is that DV can’t at least UNDERSTAND where Mark is coming from. Instead, he whipped into a frenzy and just got indignant and shit with some of the nastiest nastiness I’ve read from him in a while. Totally off-base. LG is correct in his post above.

  22. Miscreant says:

“I wish I had a retarded prop baby at my disposal like she does.”

Thank God (or deity of your choice) your kids aren’t “retarded”, but that’s never stopped you from mentioning them (or “pimping them out”) to illustrate a point.

  23. anon2 says:

The word “retard” SHOULD be offensive to everyone. Our children mouth this word on the playground because they hear it from their stupid, ignorant parents. If you have had a children with a disability you might begin to understand how hurtful and sad it is for the parents of the child to hear these words. Palin is an ignorant twit who shoved that baby off on her small daughter who wiped its head with spit, while the father stood there looking stupid. Palin is a throwback to the 18th century, and ignoramus who refused to put money into programs in Alaska to help all those disabled kids. She is the epitomy of the word “loon”. The word “retard” should be as offensive as the “n” word.

  24. I’m not saying the word shouldn’t be offensive. I’m simply saying it doesn’t offend me. The concept of “being offensive” is totally subjective, which is why some are and some aren’t offended.

That being said, I disagree that the word is anywhere near as offensive as “the n word.”

  25. Progressive Mom says:

Liberal Geek is correct: The word “retard” is one of them fighting words — just don’t use it.

The word “retarded” … that’s another story. But calling the child a “retarded..prop” sets my radar off. Calling the mom, a fully functional adult, “retarded” is probably okay, if you’re okay with moron, idiot, imbecile, etc.

Prop was enough of an accurate descriptor. Unfortunately, that’s how this little guy has been used since before his birth.

  26. Von Cracker says:

but for that to be an issue, Mis, DV would have had to state that kids (or whatever) are off-limits, to begin with…

  27. I should add that those who know me know there’s pretty much nothing that offends me. Nothing.

  28. Von Cracker says:

mongoloid is a racial term, that is why it’s frowned upon. equating an entire race with the physical characteristics of mental retardation is not cool. but don’t kid yourself, the term didn’t fall out of favor because afflicted families didn’t like it….Blame the Asians.

  29. Donviti, must you be a dick? If you plan to use derogatory words to describe other people, don’t get all pissy when they call you on it. Man up and say that you are sorry that he was offended by your label.

To answer your first question. Yes.

I’m not sorry that he was offended by my label. Why should I be. Are you telling me that even though I used the word “retard” which is a medical term, though I realize I was being an asshole, that I now need to apologize to people that have autistic children? Autistic children are considered retarded? I had no idea that an autistic child was on par with a Down Syndrome.

so, if you are telling me that an Autistic Child and a DS child are both retarded, then yes. I FULLY and 100% sincerely apologize. In my ignorance I had no idea.

However, if a DS child and an Autistic Child are two different things then I’m not sorry. I made the comment knowing full well that “retard” was a slang word for DS and I did so knowing full well the repercussions of what would happen as well as to see the reaction I would get within the comments.

The outrage of course is me saying a harmless word, not the Quitter of Alaska using her child as a political agit prop

  30. liberalgeek says:

Retard is not a medical term. The adjective “retarded” is. It describes, bluntly, a delay in development. Autistic children are almost always mentally retarded, as are people with Downs Syndrome. It is a matter of degrees, which is why I said it was blunt. I could go through a dozen diagnosis that also are found with mental or physical retardation.

The point is that it IS offensive and derogatory, and I am really sorry that no one has told you that in a way that sunk in before. And to strike back at Mark in the way that you did reminds me of an old guy saying “I thought they were called negroes, negro means black in Spanish”

  31. liberalgeek says:

Oh, and Palin is EXACTLY the kind of person that uses retard as a noun… right up until she had a child with a disability.

  32. anonone says:

    Matthews wrote:

“I should add that those who know me know there’s pretty much nothing that offends me. Nothing.”

Oh. yeah, right. There are very few people who get as offended by criticism of their comments as you do, particularly by anonymous commenters. Several years ago, you even censored comments on your blog that parodied O’Donnell and you shut down a thread about Crossan.

Of course, only a person with no moral compass would think that bragging that “pretty much nothing that offends me” is a good thing.

  33. “There are very few people who get as offended by criticism of their comments as you do, particularly by anonymous commenters. Several years ago, you even censored comments on your blog that parodied O’Donnell and you shut down a thread about Crossan.”

You, sir, are nothing more than a glorified stalker. Honestly. Going back three years, are you? Wow…pathetic you are.

Again, it had nothing to do with being OFFENDED, as you say. It had to do with correcting the record when the only OFFENSE you could provide were outright lies and distortions about what you said about me. Again, your bullshit doesn’t offend me. It is what it is: bullshit. And I’m not the only one who thinks so.

  34. I think anonone is getting something mixed up. When someone mounts an OFFENSE, like anonone does quite often, then I am going to DEFEND myself. As far as being OFFENDED, I am not.

Two different definitions there, anonone troll!

    How’s your Sunday, beeyotch?

  35. anonone says:

HA HA. The posts I mentioned that you found so offensive that you censored them weren’t even about you. They were about O’Donnell and Crossan.

    My Sunday is fine. Yours?

P.S. I am just keeping my chops in practice. 🙂

  36. Again, I didn’t find them OFFENSIVE. I found them entirely counter-productive and unnecessary. Calling Christine O’Donnell a cu** was just ridiculous and I got a shitload of complaints via email from people who WERE offended. I understood their complaint and I agreed (even though I wasn’t PERSONALLY offended) that the comment took the dialogue nowhere and that it would be wise to pull it.

As for the Crossan post, you’d have to be one sick fuck to think those truly vile comments about him and his wife (who had — at the time — just been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer) were in any way acceptable. Again, I wasn’t really OFFENDED, per say, but I did feel the comments were incredibly insensitive and I thought the best thing to do would be to simply shut them down. Apparently, you’re the only one who disagrees. Maybe it was you who was putting up the nastiness?

  37. Roger says:

I think Sarah Palin is a selfish human being and her egoistic nature keeps her mind trapped in a blob of fog. Trig was given to Sarah mainly to evoke her insensitive nature. He is here to help her. The birth of her handicapped son was no accident. We humans think we are in control but we are not.
