    Beyond birther nuttiness, I think the reason the clip has gone viral is because it is a VERY vivid glimpse into just how effed up the GOP is right now.

    The “base” has a fairly conservative guy (if you look at his whole record) in a Dem district who always wins, but they hate his guts and state openly rather see him lose to a Dem than be reelected.

    Everyone has known this about the GOP base for a while…but this is seeing it played out in realtime.

    Holy Shi…I just looked at my so called “birth certificate” and it doesn’t say “Birth Certificate” anywhere on it. It says “New Jersey Department of Health” and “Birth Record” but does not say “certificate.”

    Maybe I was born in Kenya.

    My Delaware birth certificate also says “live birth record” instead of certificate, and I only have a copy! Perhaps I am a evil terrorist that is not really alive!!!

    Mine says Certificate of Live Birth too. No doctor listed, no hospital listed. I wonder of UI and I are related via our Kenyan ancestors?

    I must also add that my obviously forged birth certificate was acceptable as proof of citizenship when I got my driver’s license (in 4 different states), my passport, my wedding license and for the Immigration services (for marriage to my Canadian husband).

    Mine says record of birth, but it shows I was born in Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Since this is not a Christian hospital, I wonder if I’m a citizen. Maybe I’m Israeli. Wow.

    aww man – mine says BIRTH CERTIFICATE – in 5 different languages even. And it states that I am the daughter of Dieter Wolfgang Schwarz and Eleonore Kaethe Martha Blochwitz….but no hospital or doctor – they don’t do that in Germany..we don’t do footprints either.

    I WANNE BE FROM KENYA TOO!!! Then again..Kenya is closer to Germany then it is to here – so maybe we are distant cousins??

    Unlike the president, I actually was born in another country. My birth certificate says “Certification of Birth Abroad,” and is signed by the Secretary of State.

    Kent and Sussex counties are proving day after day that they have more in common with Alabama and Arkansas than they do with New Castle County.

    Given that your state had slavery longer than Alabama and Arkansas, that speaks more highly of Kent and Sussex Counties than of New Castle County.

    And as I recall, wasn’t Delaware one of the states that had a case on segregated schools decided along with Brown v. Board of Ed?

    Let’s stick to the State of Hawaii, not New Jersey or anywhere else.

    Let’s stick to the rules of best evidence, ie, actual, documented records and documents.

    Let Mr. Obama open all his files and let the officials of those files present the pertenent documents to the public for examination and investigation.

    Mr. Obama has caused and fueled this controversy by refusing to release his records, not only from the hospital but also his college records in CA, NY and MA.

    Historians dig into the most obscure facts of all our presidents and No 44 is an historical president even if he served only one day. This controversy should be laid to rest with an exhaustive look at his records and Mr. Obama should NOT stand in the way.

    My understanding is the State of Hawaii issued Birth Certificates that included common birth data not reflected on this “Certification” of Live Birth. The State of Hawaii also issued these “Certifications”..not “Certificates” to citizens born out of state.

    So for the truthful, historical record of our 44th President, what if anything is the difference between a “Certification” and a “Certificate” from the state and what were they typically issuing at that time. President Obama should completely release this personal information and end the controversy once and for all.

    I’m not convinced one way or another but if I was sitting in a jury room trying to decide, I’d want the rule of law and evidence before me, not a mob of blue people yelling “Yes he is!” or red people yelling “No he isn’t”.

    The vetted truth would end this blue vs red madness.
