Glenn Beck shrieks like a baby during his radio show.  (the hysteria begins at 3:15 mark)

BTW, I was raised that if you resort to yelling during an argument it means you’ve lost the debate.

Try comparing Beck’s ratings to the CNN/PMSNBC alternatives. Sort of like Limbaugh v. Air America. Yes, Beck is such a fool (Earth to the left….today’s ‘commentary’ is entertainment).

“I was raised that if you resort to yelling during an argument it means you’ve lost the debate.”

I was raised that if you consider yourself superior to people who get emotional just because they get emotional, you’re incredibly shallow.

By your standard, Islam is the best religion on Earth.

    Your parents raised you well.

Geezer and A1 defend Glenn Beck and suck at reading comprehension. Pandora was not saying that she was superior to Beck (although she is), she is saying Beck lost the debate by yelling and getting emotional.

  6. pandora says:

There is a difference between being passionately emotional in a debate and screaming your opponent down so they can’t respond.

And I’m saying that “winning the debate” is a stupid standard in the first place, and proclaiming someone the winner because his opponent got emotional is a shallow way of reaching a shallow conclusion. Reading comprehension? Who sucks?

    That’s right Pandora–surgery vs. savagery

Hardly. I didn’t even view the video because I don’t want to waste my beautiful mind on Glenn Beck. 🙂 I was just seconding Geezer’s statement because emotions are the flavor of life.

  10. Geezer says:

I didn’t watch the video either. I was reacting to Pandora’s broad statement, not the particular case of Glenn Beck, who makes Rush and Hannity sound like intellectuals.

Forget the dual outrage–the fact remains heads of state do access our healthcare in the US, and my friend who suffered a miscarriage in France, needed embassy/ consulate intervention in regards to access of care. Which by the way, she said they could not have been more attentive and hasty.

Unlike here, I can’t remember one phonecall I ever placed as a hospital admin. or ER supervisor to verify any “alien status” from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, Alberta to Vietnam, and all points in between–in fact even that woman from Thailand w/ schistosomiasis.

  12. liberalgeek says:

JC – that is weird. My parents just walked into a hospital in Paris and my Mom got patched up after a run-in with a tollgate. The hospital simply sent a bill for $5 to their home a few weeks later. Perhaps the access issue was because of the severity of the situation.

  13. Geezer says:

Argument by anecdote: Not too convincing. My friends who have sought health care during overseas trips have had no such problems, JC.

LG-that may have been the difference–treat and street vs. procedure/OR/admission
