The majority of doctors who used to be members of the AMA, have left that group and joined Physicans for National Health Care. PNHP.org. These doctors are all for single payer health care! The AMA is the worst repuke supporting group wanting to make sure they continue to bilk the health care system with double billings, 300%more for prescriptions, they have learned how to work the system to the detriment of the american public. If Obama and the demorats wanted real reform they wouldnt have invited the largest health care lobbyists a seat at the table. Senator Bernie Sanders said our Congress and Senators have received millions in contributions to their campaign funds. Thats why these corrupted politicans (in bed with the special interest groups) will never provide real reform. Obama's plan is a hoax when he claims its reform. Obama has turned out to be nothing but an arch capitalist who is supporting of the wallstreet banksters, big pharma, and the insurance company lobby. Obama claimed he would never have a lobbyist in his cabinent...however his invitation to the AMA (who are involved in writing the health care plan), is nothing short of Cheney inviting the biggest oil companies in to write our energy policy. When will progressives, moderates start calling Obama what he truly is...an incrementalist at best, a protector of corporate america in the least.

Because the Senate and Congress are so corrupted the only action is in the States. HR676 has 80 legislators signed on right now, not near enough to overturn the Obama/Corporate plan. The action is in the States. As Bernie Sanders says, "he will make sure that the Obama plan does not harm the states from having their own single payer systems.. support SB 120....a mirror of HR 676.

Rebecca dear (and you know I mean that), at this stage of the "game", my only real sense of care comes from the AARP lobby. But more on the AMA later, gotta run....

But as a tease, does your MD's membership or lack thereof, give you calm or consideration?

What is it about doctors and dentists that make one of them disagree. Quack or nonconformist?

Hey Joanne!

The AMA only represents something like 15% of the practicing physicians in America, right? So the other 85% are out there doing medicine, right?

Thanks for your comments and balance here. Happy 4th of July.

And I bet the "5th" cares the most..and then all those doctors who won't even join the AMA. You better think beyond the "groupthink".
