Cardiac arrest. Wasn’t breathing when the paramedics arrived. The cause is unknown, but he had reportedly just caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror:
Who knew that when he was looking in the mirror and exhorting himself to ‘Make that change’ he was talking about his pigmentation and the shape of his nose?
Well, as the video shows, one thing he never lacked was talent.
Update 6:35 PM: LA Times is reporting that Jackson is dead. CNN still says coma. MSNBC says dead.
Update 6:42 PM: CNN is now reporting that Jackson is dead.

He’ll meet his maker on that one.
However, I use to feel sorry for him because he was robbed of his childhood by papa Joe’s obession. Nothing but $$$ robot.

“Farrah Fawcett also died today.”
I’ll tell you one thing she gave a new meeting to
courage fighting to the bitter end. She wasn’t my favorite Angel re: Charlie’s Angels, Jaclyn Smith was hotter! However, Farrach Fawcett’s battle with cancer surely must of given strength to many others.

The Jackson 5 kicked ass.
Also, I agree w/ kilroy. Joe is in the hall of fame of bad parents.

Geez…all these icons falling. How you holding up Kilroy?
Comment by a. price on 25 June 2009 at 7:33 pm:
i always find it hilarious that morons like skip do the most unchristian thing you can do and play G-D by damning people to hell who they have no proof ever did anything. MJ was a strange person, yes. i didn’t even like his music other than Beat It. (blues rock guy) he was creepy and looked a mess the past 10 years… but you have no proof and are a real ass-hat for reacting to someone’s death in that way.
and before you get all huffy and ask if i would have been happy about Hitler’s death, yes. there was proof of his crimes at the time of his death… not testimony from people who had a history of making up rape stories to get money
Comment by Joanne Christian on 25 June 2009 at 7:36 pm:
And you know what Kilroy, besides the last album, “ABC” was the first request my girlfriend and I had the nerve to phone in to WAMS after school.
This is a reflective time for some of us…..

Great musical talent, miserable family life, miserable life.
MSNBC reporting rumors that Jackson will gives his 50% of Lennon-McCartney catalog to Sir Paul. If that’s true:
1) He was a better guy than I thought;
2) Yoko’s head will explode, creating a new art form.
Comment by anonone on 25 June 2009 at 8:05 pm:
Michael Jackson was never convicted of any crime. He was pursued by a zealous prosecutor and gold-diggers.
He brought a lot of joy to many people with his music.

um, OJ Is in jail in Nevada for a crime a. price, I assume you refer to him murdering his wife
Comment by anonone on 25 June 2009 at 8:35 pm:
Yes he was, a. price. He is sitting in jail right now. Read the news before you make ignorant statements.
Anybody who followed the trial could see the prosecutorial vendetta that was going on against Jackson.
Comment by pandora on 25 June 2009 at 8:39 pm:
This makes me so sad. The ultimate Peter Pan.
And if anyone needed to go to jail, it was the parents of the children who pimped their kids to the Neverland Ranch.

No, it is a reference to the accident during the Pepsi commercial.
Comment by pandora on 25 June 2009 at 10:04 pm:
Sorry, RWR. That’s a big FAIL.
But keep trying to back-pedal that racist remark. I’m not buying it. A man died today. A man who was hopelessly tragic and a victim in his own right, a man who was exploited since childhood – a man who was never a man, who was never allowed to grow up. A little compassion would be appropriate – but that’s obviously beyond your grasp.
Your reference was racist – own it. Unlike you, I’ve never joked about someone’s death. And the “hell” reference was just icing on the cake. You really think that was funny?
Comment by Art Downs on 25 June 2009 at 10:21 pm:
We never had proof that MJ did anything illegal. However, with a lot more money than common sense (or good taste) he was a target for a lot of con artists and hustlers, some of whom may have been called ‘parents’.
Let him rest in peace.

Sorry, pandora, I can’t bring myself to celebrate a pedophile.
I suppose you would take a harder line if he were a priest, not a pop star.
Comment by anonone on 26 June 2009 at 9:32 am:
I suppose you wouldn’t feel that way if he were white, racist rhymey.
The fact is that Michael Jackson was never convicted of any crime and his accusers were shown to be perjurers and gold diggers. The people who accused him had one motive: money. The jury who acquitted him recognized that.
Michael Jackson brought music and a message of love to the world that touched billions of people. He was a true genius.
All you bring is a message of ignorance and hate.
Comment by MJ on 26 June 2009 at 9:34 am:
RWR needs to take a lesson from Jared Morris of WGMD. He put aside his right-wingery and spent his entire show talking about Jackson and what it meant to him growing up. There’s a time and a place for everything RWR, and this is neither the time nor the place for your hate.
Comment by Joanne Christian on 26 June 2009 at 9:37 am:
RWR-I take back my timeline reference–have at him Pandora.
Comment by Rhymes With Right on 26 June 2009 at 10:07 am:
Hey — defend the pedophile if you want. I won’t — and race has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Of course, he was a fundraiser for Democrats, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by your defense of the guy. The proper politics covers every sin for you folks.
Comment by Joanne Christian on 26 June 2009 at 10:45 am:
You know RWR he had his defense, and yes it went his way. And like it or not, that’s the way it works around here. But once he left a courtroom, the real jury judged him, and he has paid dearly, with or without a “legal” judgement on him. In spite of that he continued to fundraise humongously for burn units, childrens’ charities, and a host of other causes, whether sublime or ridiculous. Interesting how more accusations didn’t flood out of the woodwork to reindicte or validate his pedophilic profile. 20 million was chump change to him, to leave his life alone, but to others it screamed guilt. He soon was the pariah, and I still remember his contempary and perhaps rival recording artist of the younger days, Donny Osmond, standing by him, and publicly affirming Michael’s well-intended and sincere concern and commitment to children, that he would absolutely allow any of his six sons or whatever he has,to be a guest at Neverland. His legal troubles were the trifecta for pimping parents. This kid(s) probably never doubted Michael loved ‘em, but as an adult they just may reflect if their parents did. Yes he ended up goofy and creepy–and we probably all had a hand in it. So RWR–just “Beat It”, and let Michael do his thing with “I’ll Be There”.
Comment by pandora on 26 June 2009 at 10:47 am:
The Jheri curl reference exposes you for what you are. Why not just say hair.
And he wasn’t convicted of anything. Not that matters to you, Mr. America.

Pandora – the Jheri curl thing was part of the news story at the time. I don’t find it particularly racist; RWR is only mentioning it because that was what happened. I remember it the same way too.
Jackson’s Jheri curls were maintained with chemicals and a gel which apparently was flammable; that is how his hair caught fire so easily. To say just “hair” is to miss the point of the thing.
RWR may or may not be racist, but not because of that comment. I’m not going to his site to find out either.
